Congratulations on the new property. Just wanted to point out a couple observations I had in this video. Do yourself a favor and buy yourself a pair of chaps and a helmet to go with that new chainsaw. The investment is less expensive than a trip to the emergency room. Believe me I know. Also it is not a good practice to cut in wooded land with oaks from April until the end of July due to possibly spreading oak wilt. Once oak wilt sets in, you run the chance of loosing a lot if not all of your oaks. Anyways have fun out there.
15 year wildland firefighter here...please get some chainsaw chaps and watch some @buckinbillyray videos on cutting trees down. Most of what you cut was small (they've been known to cost some teeth boys) The one bigger tree that hinged high is called a barber chair. If you cut a larger tree or one that has some defects that amateur fellers just can't recognize, that is a good way to die. The tree can violently move back to the stump. I have seen 30" diameter hardwoods move 5' in half a second. You read that lean wrong it can come back at you. Killed by a tree is a bad headstone fellas.
Man I'm glad you guys are makin some money! I know yall started with nothin and just kept grinding. Dont even know yall but I'm proud of you guys. Keep kickin ass boys!!
Congratulations on the new cabin. You"re gioing to make a lot of memories there. Thanks for all your hunting as well as informative videos. My husband and I are learning a lot. We own 4 acres, 3 of which are in part of a swamp. We"ve seen some of the biggest bucks ever. Happy hunting. SE Wisconsin, Walworth CTY
Nice Cabin! Looking forward to this falls content. I would also recommend a better chain saw. My first saw was a Ryobi and performance was terrible. I bought a Husqvarna and could not be happier with it. In a addition, always cut a front notch in the tree, it will prevent mid tear when felling trees. Be Safe Guys!
Awesome! Congrats!! Get a Stihl saw, and never let the chain hit the dirt or rock. If you’re having to press or manhandle the saw, it needs to be sharpened.
Nice cabin! Need a tour of it once you get all the mounts in there and have a family meal. Going to be a great season of awesome content. Love the close to home hunting. BUCK NEST!!!
hey fellas, love your show, take a good look at that roof, Im a roofer, so anytime you buy a home/cabin make sure the roof is good, nothing worse than a leak inside during the winter
You should wait until early October, once the leaves just start turning, to cut the trees. They will have buds on them and the softwoods will have plenty of sugar in their leaves. The deer will really eat the tops of them once they hit the ground. I'm a forester by trade. Good luck with the cabin
Very nice camp! You may want to consider watching some RU-vid videos on proper techniques for cutting trees…before you get hurt. “Barber chairing” trees can be very dangerous.
Your chain sounds tight, you can touch dirt or ground for a millisecond and it will dull your chain so much the saw won’t cut. When you get the tree on the ground do your down cuts 90 percent through all the way down the log. Than count ten cuts CAREFULLY cut all the way through roll the log over and finish your cuts coming up so you don’t hit the dirt. You can get chain sharpening tools, you’ll need it at first. Hope this helps a bit.
Aaron.... LOCK your left arm out when cutting with a chain saw! That should keep the tip of the saw from kicking back during a cut and severing your carotid artery!!!
Congrats THP crew! Love tuning in from up here in Canada and seeing the passion for the hunt and nature. Also, we all wanna see you happy and healthy for years to come - get them chaps and chainsaw helmets on ;)
Sounds like a good plan for this fall/winter. Hone in more on fewer areas. Last year was rough, but the faithful fans are still hanging in there with y’all. I feel that this coming season will be one of the best yet. Keep up the good content!
You boys need to take us on a tour of the new place. Enjoy all the improvements - a labor of love. It should be a great place to make your video editing magic. Good luck.
Throw a little oil on that bar itself and roll the saw side to side, or loosen the chain some when it starts to stick. Some times that bar or inside the saw gets gum up. Pretty cool place
I love everything about this video. Warb, dive deep into some youtube chainsaw videos for safe cutting and get a stihl handfile guide. Running a saw is my favorite thing to do.
Nice place! I know you want to open your woods up. A little secret is cut the smaller trees roughly 3 feet high and about 3/4 the way threw and push them over. That way their down but alive and deer can still browse on them. Just an idea. Keep on doing your thing. Learned so much from THP!
Guys First off NICE 👍 CABIN!!!! Second you’re supposed to fill up THE CHAINSAW Full with Bar lubrication oil in the bar oil tank every single time you fill up with the gas ⛽️& oil mixture. 😂 Rule of Thumb in a 2.5 gallon gas ⛽️ Jug add 1 Bottle of 2 cycle oil gas mixture to 2.5 gallons of gas & 2 bottles to 5 gallons. I only use 2.5 gallon gas jugs for my chainsaws. Glad y’all got you a place to stay no more sleeping in vehicles and tents ⛺️. At least in that area when you’re gonna hunt. Congrats 🍾😁👍
"Big buck outside the bedroom window! Grab the bow!... Shoot through the screen, I DONT CARE" I can just see it now. This is awesome guys. Fellow Iowan here, getting ready for deer season. Can't wait to watch this fall!
Really excited for this year's content. I expect there to be more behind-the-scenes back at the cabin clips at the end of the videos like there used to be!
hickorys grow super slow that tree is probly 50 60 years old. if hes gonna cut down any bigger then the ones in this he needs to be carefull and when it starts to drop get out of the stump area at a 45 degree angle. everything always comes back right to the stump most the time. hangers in other trees can get flung back right at you. also id reccomend getting a bigger saw and always have a sharp chain. stay safe and happy hunting guys.
Aaron or who ever reads this from your crew. I'm no expert by any means. But when cutting with a chain saw. Wrap that thumb around that upper bar. At 3:27-3:28 ur left thumb is parrallel with the handle. Wrap it tight. So if u get a kick back you don't loose control. stay safe!
Congratulations👍 Every hunters dream right there. Super stoked for the upcoming content. I've learned a lot from your vids over the years and appreciate all the effort put into the common man theme🎯
Congratulations on the new place. Save some of that hickory wood and use it for BBQ and smoking meat. Mix it with some applewood chunks and you really have a good smelling and tasting BBQ. You have a lifetime supply of Hickory there.
I'm so ready for this season to get here. Made some major changes for this season. Found some incredible spots for this coming season. It's eatn me up this year waiting on it
Awesome digs! Clearing out the canopy trees to allow sunlight in is a great idea. Everything is lush and green, doesn't look like a shortage of rain. Clearing areas will be good for when the guys bring campers and such too, give them a place to park. Love what ya'll are doing ❤️
Great cabin 👌. Putting down roots is good. I saddle hunt, public land hunt & climb trees & cut alot in the warm season. Too busy in March & April scouting & setting up deer spots. That's why I was 30 feet up today with sweat dripping into my eyes. I have a professional grade Stihl 14" saw for using up in 🌳 along with a 12" electric saw. Never gets too 🔥 for them. I was impressed that u put that Ryobi through all that & finished the day with it. The pro grade saws don't need as much of a rest as the regular saws do. I think u did well considering. Burn that area next March so u can get something growing in there. Should be interesting.
That's awesome what a dream come true to have your own little property to do whatever you want to it you don't need a lot of property it's just got to be the right property I watch every video you guys put out and I've learned a lot from you guys enjoy watching every single one you guys have a good time doing it and that's what it's all about I appreciate you guys are awesome Dustin from Michigan good luck
You could send me on an elk hunt bear hunt mule deer hunt rabbit hunt squirrel hunt mountain lion hunt nothing does it for me like a whitetail no disrespect I respect all hunters to a mountain high
You may have over extended yourselves, but you guys did a lot of different things you don’t usually do. I know you guys learned a lot. It really goes to show that you can’t just go buy a tag, jump in the woods and be successful every time. Hunters and non-hunters should’ve learned from watching the videos as well. It not as easy as some people think. Most people don’t have the time to put in to really be successful. It also helps to hit the right time. There is a lot of luck involved. Nice place. Be patient, put the time in and I think you will be really surprised at how many deer you will harvest from that little piece land.
That’s the dream!! Awesome to see guys! Pull up that sucker on OnX and map what you guys are going to be doing. Can’t wait to religiously watch all of your videos through this season!
Hey warb one more thing , I only have three acres and I have lots of deer here all day long on that land , plant Austrian winter peas and you won’t believe what you see there best time for you to plant em probably last day of august ,, ohhh and put out a lot of lime now as of yesterday, and you will thank me.
Really excited for your content this coming fall. I’ve followed you since the MW days and that kind of footage/hunting is what I love. Can’t wait to see your hard work pay off with some big Iowa bucks
Congratulations on the Property guys, looks great 👍 definitely getting a few bruisers off that piece of heaven. Make sure to get a sturdy Buck Pole up before season!
Awesome. Congrats. Tight little spot in the woods. Don’t forget your roots and where you started. More down and dirty hunt videos and less instructional videos like lately. JMO.
Congratulations! I bought a house and two acres for the exact same reason lol my 1/4 acre wood lot is part of the only natural funnel that backs up to a sizable crop farm. Didn’t get to do a lot to it last year but me and the wife managed to take a few does off of it
Someone's gonna be sitting in there, grab your bow. That's how I hunt my small acreage in TX. The house is in the middle and im fortunate enough to take 120-140" deer yearly.
Dropping trees can be dangerous… always funny until someone gets hurt. Warb did a decent job though. Congrats on the Cabin, looking forward to a great deer season and some outstanding videos. Best Wishes to everyone
Can’t wait to see what you boys have in store for this year! Always looking forward to a new video of y’all to watch! Hope all goes well this year fellas!!
I’m glad that you guys are gonna hunt more at home and states closer to home. I prefer the midwestern whitetail hunts a lot more than all the western hunts.
Guy's .....Glad to see you bought a cabin. If you don't get that chain saw away from "Freddie Kruger"....Your days in your "New Place" are numbered before he drop's a tree thru your roof !
