We first started watching you guys when you filmed the moving of your mobile home from NC to Tenn. That was an amazing video to see how they came down that hill and turned onto the road. We always anticipate your new postings. God is blessing you and your family, and now with this ! WOW! You deserve it.
Ya'll are going to have so much fun! We had a camper when our children were young and enjoyed it so much. Sam, you're right! Once your child has their own job, its so much harder to get good quality time with them. Do it now! You won't regret it.
I agree about how both of you look at "life" with your children. As time flys by, maybe they could help do some of the repairs and upgrades. That will help you and them. One day they are children then then one day soon, they are adults. It should bring the whole family closer while learning and helping each other. All of you will be thankful for this experience. Love from Central Oklahoma.
I've been watching the nomadic YT people for years now. So these RV issues are old news. But that's fun, because I can almost tell what you're going to do to repair the problem. Congratulations!
Good for you guys!! To think, having home schoolers you can vacation, do school work and field trips anytime you want. Win-Win all around. Take care and don’t forget to drag us along with y’all 😊
I'm jelly. We had a small coleman pop-up canvas roof camper, 6 people, one was still in cloth diapers, camped in the mountains of Virginia in the winter. You'll have lots of memories. Take lots of pictures and journal your travels.
Laughed. I was scrolling thru looking for something to watch. Saw the rv, naaa. Kept scrolling. Came back and then saw you and Angela! Wait!!?! What?!? Now I’m in!! So very happy for you all!! This will be a great memory maker!! And you will always make it better. 👍❤️
Looks like a nice looking motorhome. One of the things that you can do to fix some of the tarnished ceiling is spray either shellac or lacquer clear. It will seal the tarnish then you can paint over the area to make it disappear. Have fun on your projects
For a 16-year-old RV, that one is immaculate! I've never seen one with a huge master & that much storage. Great purchase Sam & Angela. BTW, didn't you have a different channel name?
You guys are gonna be very happy. I’ve had a travel trailer and motorhomes and I still do and my kids used to love going out with us now my grandkids love going out with us. You’re gonna create a lot of good memories. Good luck and I’ll be watching.
My fondest memories of childhood is of Dad renting a pop-up camper every summer and taking the family to different states to find him some good places to fish. You won't regret this one bit! I still love to camp, though I call it glamping now with a 30' fifth wheel, running cold and hot water, three slide outs, air conditioning and heat.
Congratulations I know you will enjoy your motor home with the boy's and they have grown so fast. As I'm watching this I'm sitting in our new 30 ft. tag along camper. I love it because I have a front kitchen and it has extra big counters to work on. Also two slid outs dining and theater seats and the bed. It also has a regular king bed and tons of storage. Can't wait to watch you fixing it up. Love to you all!❤
Both of my parents were teachers. When I was 11 years old my dad bought a camper. The next few summers we traveled around the United States. By the time I was 14, I traveled to 32 different states.
Hi Sam and Angela! Well Congratulations on your RV! Excited to watch you do all the fixing on it! We are doing the same thing on our 40 ft. 5th wheel. I gre up camping just in a tent. But the memories of camping as a family were some of my best memories in my childhood!😊 Excited to see you make lasting memories with your whole family! Raising kids goes by so fast, so enjoy those times to the fullest! 😊❤
Its funny people dont understand bigger purchases are usually not a rush decision , we just didn't know you were thinking about it and saving.. I really hope you guys get out there and enjoy these best years before the kids hit "that" age. It goes by very quickly. Can we request vacation spots, like go do a collab with Doug & Eevee @Diyfferent in Floreda..lol! That would be so awesome. If anyone else is looking for an RV, our friend is selling his, $45k cheaper than he paid for it 2yrs ago.. its absolutely beautiful at $55k obro.😊
Nice RV! If anyone can make it better than new - it's you two. Enjoy these years! They fly by so much faster than you know. Our grand turned 12 this year and we have been having the same thoughts.
We used to have something similar, but no slide out's, same Triton V10 and yes it was a great engine. We consistently got 11mpg fully loaded, and towing our jeep. It didn't seem to matter if we were in the mountains or driving on a flat plane, the mileage was consistent and the engine/transmission never missed a beat. We ran 20/50 weight oil on the recommendation of a truck shop because we were essentially driving a loaded truck around and the oil needed to have some backbone. An important lesson we learned were with tires. We also took or RV to a truck tire shop and the first thing they did was take the RV and get it weighed (total, and front and rear dually) in order to determine the proper load rating of the tires the RV needed, and this was based on the weight over the axels. The best money we ever spent, all our tire issues went away with 6 new heavy duty tires designed for the appropriate load. The tires were not cheap but still the best money we ever spent on the RV. Making sure the generator was properly serviced was important because we used it so much. Most of the AC devices in our RV only worked on shore power or with the generator on, especially the RV AC units on the roof, very necessary when you live in the New Mexico desert. We had Direct TV at our home back then and I found an extra dish and took it, and a receiver with us and when we parked, I would set up the dish and we had our home tv on the road. We could never afford the fancy auto tracking dish on top of the RV back then. We also had a Wi-Fi hotspot in the RV that used 3g cellular at the time and that worked well for us and allowed me to work while we were off somewhere. Kids are all grown and married now but when they were young, we took them everywhere and any chance we had. It was a great experience and I am sure it will be for your family as well. Fyi, even though less amenities, and not fancy, state run RV parks we seemed to like the best over the high end private RV parks. We could stay right on the beach with full hook up's on North Padre Island TX, for $13 per night, we felt like millionaires with our beach and ocean view while staying there.... I look forward to future videos, and congratulations on the RV purchase... Joe
I really appreciate the advice! There's a CAT scale at one of the gas stations nearby. I want to load it up with what we think we'll carry (or just fill up the water holding tank and gray water tank to simulate it) then get it weighed soon in preparation of tires (if needed, we'll have a truck tire shop inspect them) and/or correct pressures to use. The list is long, but we are also motivated to use it as soon as we can! :)
Hey, I watch Nomadic Fanatic, have for years. I will never have an RV, but I don't mind living vicariously through Eric and now you. You do the renovating and traveling, and I'll enjoy it through my laptop. 😜
Congratulations Sam & Angela. Hope you don't have too many repairs. And get the BEAST in road trip ready condition. I think it's great you are able to do this so you have great memories with your son's. FYI though, me and my siblings always made time for family trips even when we were on our own. We never missed an opportunity to vacation with our parents.❤❤
I have family members, who have visited, with their RV’s. My niece had a washer & dryer, and full size fridge. They lived in theirs for several years. And, another cousin visited, and we all sat in the RV, to visit, because it had A/C, our house didn’t, at that time. Fuel will be expensive, however! Enjoy your newest gadget.
Sam and Angela , happy for you I love your videos. I have been watching your videos for a long time .Sam I think you are very smart with things you do .Angela I think behind every good man is a. Wonderful wife and Mother. Y’all are living my dream but I am 70 years old . So can’t wait to see your next video. Love you guys too. 😊
Oh wow Sam and Angela, that motorhome is so incredible and really pretty and great inside for all of you. It is a great model that looks like it will be okay to drive. Oh and so sad that you have all of that to replace and fix and I am sure that as good as you both are in fixing things you will make it so great when finished, but looking at the pictures Angela showed it doesn't look too bad, but I do understand that things need to be fixed and I am sure you both will fix whatever needs to be fixed. Thanks so much for sharing this video and I am wishing you a great rest of your day, sending love and hugs, bye!! 🥰😂💜💜💚💝💜
The long list of fixes made this in our price range, so we're okay with them. Hopefully we'll end up with something that soon will be worth more than we have into it and also be reliable for travels. :)
That IS a monster truck, haha. What a great surprise though! And I'm behind you all the way. Great idea. I hope you guys get lots of enjoyment out of it. And I think it's a fantastic change of pace for your channel. I hope you do well all the way around. Plus, I totally agree with your decision vs a bus conversion. Buses come with their own set of issues and you'll put a ton of money into them to get them as nice!
That's amazing! My best memories with my family is when we were camping. Now we did it in a popup camper but we were together and we were camping. So excited for this chapter of your life!
Yes! I can verify once they become teens it gets harder to spend time with them as they start to gain their own independence. Enjoy it while you have it.
You’re exactly right. In a few years they won’t even to be seen in public with. My youngest is 18. Can’t wait to see what amazing things you’re going to do to it. 😊
I'm excited for y'all, I like RV and house renovations. You should figure out how to install those mini ceiling fans like what you put in your shop. Love what you do. Y'all got this
I follow a couple of van life people. They have built houses in vans. Eamon and Bec and Wearekingingit both on RU-vid. You can see the different bathroom setups they have done. I don't know how anyone other than a tiny child would be able to use that bathroom. Unless it's bigger than it looks. Can't wait for the videos
Yes, definitely want to see you fixing it up. That’s the best kind of videos. Congratulations on your motor home. I’m really happy for y’all. Thanks for sharing and have a great day!!
That is nice and clean, I am sure Sam and Angela are both great a renovation and make it fantastic for family vacations, Congratulations on your purchase.
I am so happy for you guys. I have watched you for years. I am always thrilled when you are able to add new things to your place. Sending love and prayers to your family always
Wow you guys what a great find! ….Sam you have the right reasons for sure….My family is in the same boat! My oldest daughter is in second year of college an working an my youngest daughter just turned 16 and its almost impossible to get all of us together even in the same room! We were finally able to schedule a family cruise in a few weeks! But it took months of planning! These memories are super important and worth every penny! I’m glad you guys are taking the time and it will make for some great videos!
I absolutely love your new RV, Congratulations. You two and your boys will make lots of good wonderful memories in that RV. Just one thing, you all of you must have at least 2 escape routs one in front and one in the back and possibly one in the middle and you all 4 need to practice it. It will be the best thing you can do for your family. I would really want to know what is wrong with the electrical. That could be a huge problem that you need to fix before ever going on a trip. I absolutely love it. Fun, fun, fun times to come in the RV! So happy fir you guys!❤
I knew why you purchased this as soon as I saw the bunk beds. Enjoy your boys and make family memories. Time passes by before you notice it. God Bless and Good times ahead 😍
Interesting video. I owned a pop up camper and my small family enjoyed it so much. I bought it new, my Mom told me are you sure about spending so much money. I paid cash and never regretted it for a minute. I know your family will love it. Hope you get it road worthy soon. This is the best time of year to camp. I would think you're good for year round camping. 💖💖
My husband Tom and I is enjoying your video's very much. I just subscribed. I love your new hair-do Angela, it's so cute on you ! Love, Hugs and Blessings to your sweet family
As I’m watching this video I’m camping in our 1997 Motor Home. ( on inland water way in NC. Yes I’m in love with this motor home . It was a birthday gift from hubby. I hope y’all will enjoy yours as much as I do. And just for fun I camp in back yard. Lol that’s free. Love you guys
That's awesome! This is a great time to do stuff with your kids, they're old enough to remember it forever and young enough to not wish they were somewhere else. I'm all in for Sam and Angela RV and/or vacation videos. You mentioned how big it is and it reminded me of something I saw on someone else's RV channel... "Know the height of the very highest thing on top of the RV and watch for clearance signs on small bridges and things"
Congratulations on your new adventure and I wish you nothing but happiness. I am sad to say that I am parting ways because I loved the homesteading Sam and Angela and not RV adventure. Thank you for years of good content and God bless.
Congratulations on your new Class A.....used or not, it is lovely and if anyone can track down electrical......Sam can! On the leaky sinks etc.....check your o rings or washers before buying new hardware. Also any any any holes that let pipes or things though the floor or sides into the home close them with foam. Ours is parked in the country setting and you do not want critters crawling thorough little holes, even the smallest places. Check the toilet seals and the underneath gray water and inside water holding tanks for leaks. Keep your batteries up and don't let them run down for a length of time, if you store it disconnect the inside batteries under the steps usually and we keep trickle charges at hand. LOL You can do it, it's all about tending to the issues as you notice them......don't wait on them. Best of luck and also if you are storing in a dry hot climate make sure to seal coat that roof each year or so. There are several you tube videos on reattaching inside ceiling fabrics if need be. So happy for you to enjoy this adventure and I hope you get good mileage with your rig.....we get about 9 miles per but then our food, beds and all we need are there so no motel or hotel needed.........it all evens out......adventure, and relaxation.......it's the best. I miss it, but perhaps one of these days we will head out again........who knows!! Blessings
Congratulations on your new RV! One of the many RVs I’ve owned was a 2015 Georgetown 328TS. The slides on it were BAL Accu-Slides, not hydraulic. Yours may be different. The main issue I had was the FRP roof material was cracking along the curved edges meeting the side walls. Happened on a few different years. I think the radius pieces on yours are actually curved aluminum, a much better design. Please take the time to thoroughly inspect the roof repairs. My BIL had his roof replaced on a travel trailer at Camping World. Over $10K. Two years later, it leaked again and the insurance company totaled it. Most everything in the RV is very simple to troubleshoot and fix. And you fixing it yourself, it will be done right. I’ve owned RVs since the 80s. I’m also a retired aerospace engineering technician. If you need help with anything, my contact information is on my RU-vid channel. Have fun!
As the owner of 9, yes 9, different RV's from a bumper pull to now the large of large show off Prevost, I can tell you the same thing a friend who grew up in the RV industry told me his dad used to say. If you are going to own an RV you'll need 3 things" 1. A good tool box, because stuff is going to break, count on it. 2. A good bank account, because the stuff will break in the worst place, under the worst conditions and be very expensive to repair. 3. A good sense of humor, because, well all of the above, and typically at the same time. Enjoy your time, I know all 6 of my boys loved our RV adventures, despite some of the overly annoying challenges.
I'm so happy for you all. It's time for you to slow down and spend time with your family and explore the country. Do something fun. We are not getting any younger and we cannot get time back once it's gone. Enjoy and take us along with you. Love you guys. Y'all are the best!!
Fix the RV and have fun! Don’t be surprised if any RV parks want photos before you can make a reservation. Most have rules about RVs older than 10 years. Yours looks really nice so I don’t think you will have a problem.
How cool! I bought a vintage camp trailer a few months ago, but on my 3 week, 4000 mile, 12 state trip last month I just took my ‘08 Jeep Commander that I’ve fitted out to be my home-away-from-home.
