This video we trade in our 2016 Can Am Spyder F3 LTD for a 2021 Can Am Spyder RT LTD. We also get a bonus day near the end of October and take the new bike for a 370 Km. ride through Algonquin Park in Ontario Canada.
Been through Algonquin Park several times and it's always beautiful. Will be looking at the F3 LTD and the RT LTD in the spring so thanks for the comparisons which will help me decide. Great video and I hope you both have nothing but fun and adventure on your new Spyder. Stay safe and cheers from the Ottawa Valley.
Thanks for you interest in our channel. I am working on a more detailed feature/ comparison video coming soon. We love the Ottawa valley, beautiful country. All the best with your Spyder search.
Congrats on your new Spyder RT LTD. It sounds like you are already liking the upgrade and it's special features. I hope you can get a couple more Rydes in before winter weather arrives. Thanks for the Ryde along. Stay Alert. Ryde Safe in a fun way. Thanks for sharing. Keep on Spydering. 😎🇺🇸.
We got out this past week again since the ride in this video. I am thinking we are coming to the end of our season up here unless we get a bonus stretch of weather in November..... it happened last year but I had already winterized the F3.
Thanks for your comment. We are thoroughly enjoying the whole Spydering activity. Our season is just getting into full swing so there will be more videos to come. By the way I listened to your GarageBand arrangement..... Dude!! you have got to put more of that up here. I also do a bit of music myself.... that was a great tune. Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦, and thanks for your interest in our channel.
I love my '21 RT Limited. I'm about a thousand miles (1600 km) into it, and though there are a few things I'm not thrilled about, if you do a review video in a few thousand kilometers, I'll chime in then. I haven't regretted buying mine for a single second. I'm glad you guys love yours.
From Manitoba its great to get a Canadian review and of course touring a Group of 7 park. You two do a fine job covering the bike and your experience. Obviously this is what keeps you guys young and full of life, nicely done and the moose co-operated and did not cross the road as you were coming along.
Thanks for your comment and subscribing to our channel. I just got back from the first ride of the 2022 season... always a happy day. Algonquin is a common destination for us. It is very close to where we live. 👍🇨🇦
I have been watching your channel when I had my F3. Your video on the handlebar change got my attention. I am 6'4" (all leg) and I notice on the RT when you turn full to either side the stock bars hit my thighs. I will have to ride it a bit more to make a final call on this. I don't feel the need to have the bars closer to me yet, so we will see. I think riding is pretty much done where I live so I am looking forward to spring. Thanks for you comment.
Nice video on the new Spyder and sites. I live in Northern Alberta and have a 2011 RTS Spyder, bought it new. It's never let me down. They are a great machine. Enjoy it.
Thanks. We are really looking forward to next season. I have a niece that lives in Lloyd..... Maybe next summer ya never know. I appreciate your interest in the channel.
Thank you very much. I will always have fond memories of the F3 it was a great bike and never let us down once in the years I owned her. I appreciate your interest in the channel.
I road the F3 in my Can-am 3 wheeled riders course and liked the way it sat. When I test road the RT Limited, I was hooked. Then I had the opportunity to get the Sea-to-sky and everything fell into place. I think y'all will just love it.
Congratulation, your perspective on the difference between the F3 and the RT Limited is good. Those who are new to the Spyder world will find it valuable.
Thank you for your comment and your interest in the channel. I also did a full feature review on the RT. If you are interested in watching, here is the link. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--ca3sJfvLKk.html
I’m going to buy one for one reason….I can hit a deer and not go down and eat asphalt. My last motorcycle trip the anxiety totally ruined it for me. Deer came within a inch of killing me multiple times a day. I’m sick of it. I feel like the can am would remove 90% of my anxiety. I can enjoy the open road and wind without worrying about deer and large dogs putting me down. Sure I could still get hurt but it’s not basically a 100% chance of going down like on 2 wheels. I’m only 38 and people will laugh and call me old man but I don’t give a shit anymore! The deer are totally out of control here in Kentucky and Tennessee. It’s not IF I hit a deer but WHEN. I been riding for many years but for some reason this last trip really got me shook up about it 🤦♂️ Anyhow…that’s a beautiful machine and I hope y’all enjoy it for many many years together 👍🏻. Cheers to y’all from the Appalachian foothills of Kentucky
OMG, great move onto 3 wheels, i ride a Tricity here in NZ. Same thing here re Dogs and Dear plus Wallabys at night. Stay safe, Smile wide and see the scenery flow on ya Rides. Kia Kaha UBIQUE
Congratulations on the new RT. Mine is the 2020, and I hope BRP solved the loose/shakey mirrors issue that plagued the 2020 RT. If not, you will notice the issue at by about 1k to 2k mileage. I chose the fix from Lamonster Garage, $23 (US $), their "Mirror Locks", low cost and easy to install, my mirrors have been rock solid ever since, and my RT has 10000 miles on it now (about 16k km). BRP solution (shinier nuts and bolts that you won't see after you install) was very similar but cost a LOT more. I love my RT, and if you're doing any of your own mods or service, there's more tupperware to deal with than the F3. Again, congratulations 😁👍👍
Think you guys are gonna love the new RT and congratulations on the upgrade. Last summer we traded our 2016 RT on a Marsala red 2020 and found it handled better and was more comfortable. Linda also enjoys the heated grips and seat, as well as the additional room on the saddle for both of us. Enjoy your new ride!
Upgrade! it’s literally the same bike.. ones sportier/touring, the other is just touring and geared that way… all depends on what fits you. Hate when ppl say RT is a upgrade… RT is actually tuned to be slower because it’s strictly for touring.
I would like to ask you a favor if I can. I have watched a couple of your videos over the last day or two and really enjoy your commentary. I will catch up on your past video's now that I've stumbled across your channel. My wife Tess and I are transitioning, I think, from the ATV world, had a 2011 850 Polaris Touring and sold it with 10,000 km's in 2018 and ventured to the Side x Side world with a 2018 Mid Size two seater Ranger. We've also done the two up touring Snowmobile for years but sold it also back in 2018. Finding snow in the Alliston area in the winter is crap shoot at best. Well we're 60 and 59 and have been doing some serious research into switching to the Spyder RT. We love to tour and drive but with the limited trails, both snow and ATV, we are very limited to where we can go legally and have found ourselves moving back to touring in our truck but miss greatly the feeling of riding our ATV and Ranger. So here's my question. It's really for your wife, Leslie I believe is her name, Tess is 4'9" and 101 pounds. She's dealing with some apprehension of the safety of riding two up on the Spyder. Is there any advice you would be able to give to her as to how you feel or overcame this feeling if you had any? I tried to locate a way to contact you privately but couldn't find anything so here's the novel. If you're on Facebook you can PM me and I will give you our e-mail to contact us. If there's a way to private message me on You Tube then go ahead. Above our knowledge level of RU-vid. We're not some internet creeps, just two, close to retiring, married 38 years, couple trying to continue what we love to do in a cleaner more enjoyable way. Thanks in advance for any guidance and advice. Dave & Tess.
First, thanks for your interest in our channel. We would be glad to communicate our experience with the Spyders we have owned. If you go to the "About" tab in the channel you will see an area called "Details" with a box that you can click to view our channel email address. Send me an email and we will do our best to address your questions above. Here is a link that will take you to the home page of the channel. ru-vid.com
It's a great machine. My wife was sold on the heated seats. I've got 6,700+ miles on my 21' RTL Marsala Dark in just a few months. I put 34k on my 15' RTS and traded it for the 21'.
I wish!! If only you could see outside my house. I haven't seen the the green green grass of home since the end of November... LOL and cheers from the Great White North 🇨🇦
@@r.d.r7658 That is correct. The term is used harmlessly when we refer to Canada given how much of our country is in the far north. I apologize if it sounded inappropriate.
Congrats on the new bike!! Sharpe!! Hopefully we'll run into you guys again some day. Trying to get my wife on the back of mine so we can do what you guys are doing.
Thanks Doug, we are obviously very pleased. The increased passenger amenities have sealed the deal for Leslie. I hope our paths cross again, I am alway on the lookout for you when we pass through your neck of the woods. Cheers!!
Although we acquired it late in the season were were able to get out a few times before we had to tuck it away. Very nice smooth and quiet. Great for our touring style. Thanks for watching our video.
Sorry for the mislead there. We were making a joke about the water bottle sitting on the floorboard. There are lots of aftermarket drink holders available for these machines.
Congrats on 21 RT. Were you able to install the trlr hitch from the f3 to the RT? Makes me want to trade my 20 for the 21. :) Millie and I ride 2 up most all the time, we love it. From sunny Florida we are, so we don't get to use heated grips and seats very often. :) Cheers!
The trailer hitch from the F3 was specific to the 2016 and 2017 models unfortunately. At this time of year we wish were in a warmer climate, it looks like riding is going in to hibernation for a while. Thanks very much for you interest in the channel.
@@BikeBoatandTravel thank you for your quick response we ordered a sea-to-sky and also orderef a limited because of the delay the dealer gave us a choice between hyper silver or carbon black on The Limited The Sea to Sky does not arrive till July But that's okay I was just concerned about the limited because they said August so we're not going to wait till August so I was hoping I could find a hyper silver to match up once again thank you very much Veronica & Mario CanAmCruising22
They actually gave me a good trade in value, plus I only had to pay tax on the difference. Then there is the hassle of every Tom, Dick and Harry coming over to see it, getting it certified etc etc etc. I am getting to old for that... I just wanna ride. Cheers from Ontario Canada.
