GR8 vid!!! I've had 7 boats over the last 40 years...if you learn to do your routine maintenance, you'll save a TON of money and enjoy your boats always! I was given a boat by my dad, and it turned into a money pit because it wasn't maintained real well. Now that I've replaced the floor, the consoles, and ALL the wiring in it, all work done by yours truly, and it's the fishing rig I've always dreamed of, I need to sell it due to declining health issues. We have in it's place, done like you did, and just bought a 2004 20' pontoon and LOVE it!!! I can fish off it just fine, and can move around on it just fine...when the day wears on ya, you can take a nap very easily!!! One of the guys I follow out west here even guides off a pontoon the same size as mine, so I feel I'm in the right place and time for getting ours. Congrats on your boating!!!
Beautiful examples of Good Family Values. Your children will always cherish the memories and Hopefully will have the opportunity to pass on to their children. Thanks for sharing and being a Great Dad and Husband. Lord Willing, May Greater things come and be done in your life.
I have always use small aluminum boats, but then rented a pontoon and my back never hurt anymore. It was like being on your own dock. Seats comfortable. Easy fishing.
We have had ours for 3 seasons now and it feels like part of the family. I hope to get at least 20 more years out of it. I picked up a tow rope this year but haven't used it yet. I'd like to try that out next year.
Greetings from a Tiny Island in Maine, USA We just had 2 of those days…we bought our 1st pontoon boat (very happy) and sold our old bow rider boat that we had for 16 fantastic years (also really happy). Both are used bow rider was 10 yo and toon is 4 yo. Fair winds.
Have a 1996 sun tracker commander 27'. Love it to death. Bought it cheap and put a brand new honda on the back. It's like new again now with furnature and a new console. These boats are rad!
They are both going to be bigger than me in a few years 😳. There's a Facebook Group you should join called "Used Pontoon Boats under $10,000" If you buy privately, you can get more than you'd expect for less
No such thing as government giving away free money. Comes right off the backs of tax payers. All they did was return a very small fraction of the money you already gave them lol. That being said, boating is a great thing to do building and sharing memories with family and friends. Absolutely love boating!
I've got the same boat basically. Mines 27' party barge. Same aluminum floor. Great shape. Full stereo with subs. Awesome time every summer! Well worth it. Bravo
My nephew and I are looking for an old beater to restore. We want a smaller one to use for shallow water fishing and as a duck hunting platform. These boats are so versatile!
I just bought a 40-year-old(!) pontoon boat, my first boat ever! Yeah, it's got a wood deck, but for the price I got it for I'm not complaining! I too am busy looking up vids about engine work and maintenance.
That’s awesome. We just bought a used 2009 Bentley 240 pontoon and I’m fixing a few minor things but should be out on the water this week. My wife and kids are excited.
I bought a 2006 sun tracker 22ft party barge. It’s has been the best, low maintenance, engine has worked flawless. Haven’t have to really work about winterizing in Texas (Austin) , only had to change the prop and oil ect basic maintenance
Awesome! We just took ours to the lake for the first time this year. I feel like we get better at it, and have more fun each time we go. I even got her back on the trailer on the first try!
Ahh this was a wonderful video! Such a great family. I love how you break the boat stereo types. I can be inexpensive and wonderful if you do it right! I laughed when your son's disappeared in the leaf pile haha. Thanks for the video! God bless!
The happy and hole statement probably vary true when it comes to v haul especially used .... but absolutely not true with poontoon boat so easy to work on 😊😊
I just had to sell my tritoon due to health reasons. We had only 114 hours on it. There was no joy in seeing her leave our yard. I still have my jon boat but there is no comparison.
20 years old? man, that's almost new. My Tracker boat is a 1995 that I totally refurbished and put a new motor on it. Pontoon boats are fun for years and years.
