Good Evening.I am Portuguese, but i live in England 56 know. And i wish the two of all the best and be very happy in Portugal. And that house the two of you brought in Portugal is going to looking beautiful when you finish building.God bless and protect the two of you amen 🙏 ❤😘🌹
Good decision. We bought a place in the town where you visited met the notary and visited the river beach, one year ago. Lots to look forward to, people here are really friendly and the food is great.
Hi, there! Welcome to my country! You bought a beautiful property and it will look gorgeous when you finish building the house! Congrats! Be happy in Portugal!
Congratulations. I bought a property with stone buildings in a village near Tondela 25 years ago. The permits for restoration take at least 6 months and without the legalities (visits from building inspectors, clear intentions of work to be done for council scrutiny, connection to services), you might fight an uphill battle. The key words are resilience and vision. But the Beira is a magnificent place and I wish you all the best on your journey.
Welcome to Portugal,VemVindos a Portiugal,,,,When I saw you driving on A 25 and I saw Reigoso, direction Viseu,Sao Pedro do Sul I Said going to Have ONE MORE UK Neighbour s,,,But I guess Not. do not recognise the Place. But. WERCOME,people That come to Portugal to work and enjoy life And stay out of the System. Great. welcome one more time....I Think that property its in My District. VISEU,Or Maybe Castelo Branco,,,Hope you love it whatever you are.
Hey guys! Wanted to say I was drawn in by your Red Sox hat! haha Not often I see a European with a baseball hat, nevermind my hometown team. We've been to Portugal in the past and loved it, we're heading back this winter for a potential property search. Hoping to someday have a little place in the countryside as well. Looking forward to seeing how your project turns out. Good luck!
Hi, thanks for the comment. So the Red Socks hat is from when I was traveling when I was younger. Spent a couple of weeks in Boston (& loved it). I watched the Bruins & Celtic’s (wrong time of the year for baseball). Follow them all now when I check on US sport. Like the Red Socks cap, its the second one I’ve owned as the first got worn out 😁
thanks for the video ,what a lovely area your in,i was born in setubal and i live in Australia .its going to take a lot of work fixing ruins but once its done it will be priceless ,i think prices will double in property by next year i wish you all the best
Hi. we bought a ruin and land about 10 minutes from the village but higher up.. also need a new roof..probably go for sandwich panel...if its allowed by the camera...(we still commuting from South Africa..) good luck with your build ..looks great!
@@thispasithealife Yes, would be good..the local hardware store - on the corner down from the mini -preco is good for odds and sods..their son .Pedro speaks English..they also have a big builders yard further down on the way to the river. We have amazing neighbours ..can't wait to get back.. struggling to sell some property here in SA. I'm sure we will meet up some time.
@@thispasithealife I ADVISE YOU TO INFORM YOURSELF, AS THERE ARE TAX BENEFITS FOR FOREIGNERS, AND THERE ARE MUNICIPALITIES THAT ALSO GIVE THEM TO THOSE WHO REPAIR OLD HOUSES, IN ELECTRICITY THERE ARE COMPANIES THAT HELP WITH THE EXPENSES OF SOLAR PANELS AND DECOUNT EXCESS ENERGY
So not in central Portugal then, good you are in a much better spot up north. Central Portugal is considered Castelo Branco county and is very cheap there, but for a reason. Is very hot in summer and very dry and a limit amount of rain, normally. ope you have sorted your residency out first as many are have problems.. You used to be able to just buy a plane ticket and move. Not any more as Brussels has stuck it's big beak in where it's not wanted. You 'll need to get a habitation license if you want to live in all of it. In that area if you want more land you will be looking at about2-3 k an acre. cheap for Portugal. but super cheap for U.K.
@@paulb1951 There was no such union or the E.E.C. in 1373. This was a peace treaty between 2 countries not 27 as is now. It's Belgium sticking it's nose in other peoples business as usual.I've read the treaty and didn't see Belgium's name on it any where.
What amenities, ie water, power, sewage, do you have access to? There appears to be no trees on the property, that i could see. I would want to get some started for shade. Was the building close to the house yours, also.
We are completely off grid, and intend to stay that way. We can connect to electricity if we need to, but will exhaust every option before having to do so ☺️
