Our Chop Saw was limited to making chop saw type cuts but we needed more! So, in order to get the job done we purchased the Evolution S210CCS 8-1/4" Metal Cutting Chop Saw. But we didn't stop there, since we wanted straight cuts, we also purchased Evolution's circular saw track system and the adapter. Watch the video and see what we like and don't like!

I agree, it would be a huge improvement. But it is nice to be able to cut plate steel.

@@BacktoCountry I am debating between this and a plasma cutter. Need to build skid plates for a tractor. I guess it depends on if I stick with mild steel or go crazy with something like AR400.

I have a cutting torch, 60 amp plasma cutter, abrasive wheel cutters and these saws. While each tool has pros and cons and each has its uses, nothing cuts as smooth and straight as these saws. At least for my shaky hands, I would need a CNC plasma table to make really nice cuts with the plasma. Especially on thicker steel. However, you can always cut and grind 😉

Why spend all that money on those straight edges when you could've just used a pcs of flat bar works better than that thing and another quicker

Flat bar comes in specific sizes and thickness. Not the size or thickness I wanted. Also, I purchased my steel as scrap and paid significantly less than the price of new flat bar. I prefer to spend my money wisely on tools that will be used in many projects over a lifetime. But hey that’s how I roll, you go ahead and do you.
