Guys what you do is giving your own shot on what Top Gear used to give people when the Trio was leading the show. And it comes out just splendidly. Keep on rolling
This is genuinely probably one of the top 3 RU-vid automotive channels right now. With a grand tour budget, I believe you guys could be exactly what the culture needs
I disagree. I think their strength and beauty of the channel is exactly in that their budget is extremely limited. I do think they would do very well with a huge budget but they are one of the most unique and hilarious channels precisely because they buy really crappy cars and make the most out of them.
@@TheLukass71 I agree, it keeps them relatable, but that's how top gear got famous really, with the cheap car challenges, I'm not saying they need to do exclusively high budget content, I'm saying with the same budget, they could put out similar content
My favorite part of this video, aside from that awesome car, is that in just one hour, it has more viewers than a three-month-old video from Car Throttle!
I had that moment also ..... bonnet popped and thought wheres the air cleaner on the carb , is it built into the bonnet or something ? Next there briming it full of diesel and im thinking hellooooooooo
This video just kept getting better and better. Did absolutely not see the safari coming. 20:03 is a sentence I never expected to hear: "Why am I in traffic in a bear enclosure"
The Ninky Nonk comparison was grossly unfair (bordering on OFCOM intervention) to the Night Garden. The Ninky Nonk can very comfortably transport Iggle Piggle, Upsy Daisy, Makka Pakka, and countless Tombilieboos. This car cannot. Signed, a Stockholm Syndromed dad.
Realistically. You could swap a 1.4TDI or 1.9TDI VW diesel into that car. Probably get 70+MPG's and it would be reasonably quick due to the good torque the VW TDI motors put out. The 1.9TDI comes in a PD100 (100hp) or a PD150 (150)HP. The PD150's can hold 200+ wheel HP with just a turbo, big intercooler and tuning.
@@camerongsx9122 1.9 ARL's with the GT1749VB are very old and very rare now. They were the original 'Red Letter' TDI engines and they were rare to get in a VW. More commonly these units were found in the 1st generation Seat Leon FR's. It's a hard engine to get hold of these days as most 1.9's with the ARL engine code have long been scrapped. The Turbo's never lasted on them and you'd be lucky to find an ARL that doesn't have a 'war siren' turbo on its way out. I had a 1.9 PD engine in the original Seat Leon FR so I know these engines well as I had one for six years. They were good at the time when they first came out but not long shortly after other newer 16 valve twin overhead commonrail injected diesels came along with 350/370nms of torque with extra overboost features and the ARL's became quickly out dated. Sadly as they were Pumpe Duse and only running 320nms of torque on an 8 valve engine they weren't the best.
100hp would kill that chassis, it's not designed to take a lot of torque. They could simply get an diesel 15kW engine from kubota, and it would run better. I have an Aixam with an 5HP diesel engine, and although it has a lower v-max, the torque is wayy better than this.
these are called moped cars in finland and they are very popular among 15 year olds. In finland you can drive a moped car at 15 with a moped car license or at 17 or 18 with a car license and they go up to 45kmh. Though atvs and utvs are more popular among teenagers now. You can drive an utv or atv which goes up to 60kmh with a tractor license at 14 or 15 years old because they are technically classified as a tractor
Don't forget that kids used to tune/pimp these things with absolutely ridiculous stereos, rims+wheels, lights and straight pipes. In reality these were total death traps.
@@johanneskivikangas8710yes we have that in Sweden to, but more so with rebuilt cars (EPA), moped cars are made fun of because they are so tiny, brittle and sound like they are falling apart. Would be fun with a video where they go full out with moped cars or EPA in Sweden or Finland
@@fb9440 Thats because they are. I was at a shop getting my street legal ATV serviced (I mention it because thats one of the other options you can drive at that age) and the mechanic was fixing a "slightly" crashed moped car. The front end was full on bent in and the frame was just this thin metal tubing. I talked with the mechanic and he said that he would never ever let his kids drive one or own one. He said that that crash happened at 30kmh and that thing looked like it was a 80kmh+ to a wall crash. I mean it was properly scary to think what would have happened if it was going any faster. Lets just say, I was way happier having with my motorcycle gear when a guy brake checked me while I was changing lanes and was throw into the backend of a Volvo estate, than crashing this the same way. Walking away versus cut out.
You guys are absolutely nailing it. Every video is beautifully put together, very funny, and has just the right amount of special guest action. Bloody brilliant!
My boss was an agent for these now and back when they were big. Im sure I could find factory manuals and original prices if you wanted 😂we still look after a few now. Crazy expensive. And pia to get hold of bits
Man this has to be one of the best episodes of brittish channel I've ever seen. Very well written and produced. Also very good dynamics between yourselves. It's awesome to see you guys evolving.
Seriously you guys are killing it with this new channel. So good to see you have the liberty to do what you want, really shines through with enthusiasm and quality. Please never take yourself too seriously! Use this as the benchmark 😂 …also, put a lift kit on it!
This needs a VIP conversion to get to proper HSE spec... heated and cooled leather seats? maybe pillow top?? Air ride suspension? Wheels and tires.. tint.. a sound system perhaps?! Slap a turbo on it?! baller.
OMG, im a car mechanic by trade, and recently we had a micro car in the shop, it was an Aixam c3. Such a POS lol. It had a 2 cylinder, 500cc, diesel engine with a cvt gearbox. This thing was so cheaply made, i could see light shining though the body pannals cuzz its all fiberglass. Due to the fact that "scooters" dont need an APK(dutch MOT) this thing had never had any checks yet, so all tyres were on the cords, all wheelbearings were so shot that when it was on its wheels it would wobble and it had no cooling cause the termostate was cooked for a long time and everything was clogged. Would recomend just getting an aygo for the same money lol
Ive just spent about 3 days watcing all of the TDC content. I have not laughed so much in ages. You two crack me up and definitely give old school top gear vibes. Keep up the good work lads and if you've got any job vacancies, i'm in! 😂
The legality of this 'car' gives me an idea for a video you should do - you've each got 8 hours to drive every letter category vehicle on the back of your licence that you're legally allowed to drive, including the odd ones like tractors and/or roadrollers. The catch to make it more difficult is you're not allowed to buy or hire any or borrow off friends, you've got to seek them out on your travels.
The humour you guys have makes this my favourite car channel on RU-vid. If you guys manage to add more comedy through the editing/ voiceovers you’d be the closest thing to the spiritual successor to Top Gear for sure
@@samuelgarrod8327 You must be great at parties, please enlighten me with the definition and the correct terminology I should have used in my passing comment referring to the family of channels?, a pack of channels?, a bouquet of visual delights?
I used to have somthing like this, bought it when i was 16 and i loved it 2 friends of mine had one as well and we would make “long” trips, eventualy it broke but i loved it because i could drive a car (sort of) while i was 16. Really great to see a microcar on this amazing channel!!
I went to Vietnam ages ago and rented a motorcycle, since at the gas station everything was written in Vietnamese I filled it with Diesel, after a while I've realized the mistake since it was loosing a lot of throttle, I've half empytied it by tilting it on the side in an empty field and put some gasoline, it ran like 1 week with 50% Diesel and 50% Gasoline, then i filled the trunk again with the correct fuel. Still impressed.
great timing got home from work and had a nice hot shower ready for the weekly TDC also thank you for the beer52 discount my dad loved it for fathers day
The best duo out of the 3 new channels of CT, never seen Will before you started the channel and love watching you both. Crack me up!! 2nd duo gotta be Alex and Taylor. Zero car content from all the gear but im sure there will be when they move to the new unit with you lot 🤞
Loved this. I live in France and these things are very common however here they are limited to 50kph. Always get caught behind one that sits in the middle of the road so you can't get past. Never seen a teenager driving one (you can drive them at 14 here). They are always driven by people that have lost their license due to alcohol!!
Honestly lads each post gets better and better basically our new og top gear love the channel, cried laughing the whole video and the hiest scene is ducking fantastic
