Nobody has been more excited about the all new 2024 Honda Transalp 750 than our awesome friend ‪@thegracefulrenegade‬. She has been looking to upgrade from her beloved Honda CB500X and when I found out her local dealership had not one but TWO brand new 2024 Honda Transalp 750s we just knew we had to make the impossible happen. He had to do the world's first DOUBLE NEW BIKE DAY.
I've been very interested in the new Honda Transalp since it was announced and while I've had my doubts and was a little disappointed because I didn't think it stacks up as well as I'd hope when compared Honda Transalp 750 vs Yamaha Tenere 700, I decided to pick one up to make content on and test and review myself over the next few months.

I've been riding a CB500X for a while and just bought a Honda Transalp. I didn't even know I wanted it. I went to the dealer to see if they had a Africa twin that I like to look at but they're too big for me. A transalp was sitting there.. 20 minutes later it was mine.. probably one of the most expensive impulse purchases I made on the spot. But I love it.. I have no regrets.

@@leeinwis if you can get your hands on a CB500x it's definitely a good bike. I would not have upgraded until I found out supply is very limited. If you're buying new definitely go for the transalp if you have the option.

@@MinhVu-in9iz mostly it was a limited opportunity. But it also had all the electronic safety features I wanted and twice the horsepower of the CB500x. But the CB500 is still a pretty sweet bike. I'm just a little bit taller than you and I don't think you're going to have a problem with it

Congratulations to you and Grace on the purchase of your new Transalps! I placed a deposit on my bike on September 21 but as the weather here in Muskoka Canada gets crappy very soon I've told them to bounce my delivery down the list till next spring or summer. I've watched a ton of Transalp conent and reviews from RU-vidrs in Europe and I believe you're in for a serious love affair with your new bike. So far the RU-vid content from Europe has really been lacking in the off road area. They seem to limit themselves to a very short distance of riding on "green lanes" which really does not test their skills or the bike very well. I look forward to seeing your content on the new Transalp as I am sure you will give it a thorough shakedown both on and off road with your usual fearlessness, insight and good humour. 🙂 Enjoy! BG

Be careful what you wish for, my bike has the Metzlers and they are incredibly noisy at highway speed. Hopefully they calm down after some more miles.

My local dealer got one of these and my first impression was that it is a road bike. Off-road didn't really enter my mind when I saw it. Biggest flaw for me was the lack of cruise control.

Picked up mine 3 days ago, 150 miles so far, 60/40 road to dirt. It's between 40 and 50 degrees f here and chores get in the way but I couldn't be happier. It's not perfect for everyone but it checked all the boxes for me. The balance is forgiving to old guys like me and it's easy to pick up, easy on the back.😂😂

The exhaust kills the honda for me. It's so low. By the time you add a skid plate your ground clearance will suffer tremendously. The tenere is the one for offroad if I had to choose.

What a beautiful bike! My first big boy bike was the 600cc Transalp from year -95. Learnt how to ride for two months and went on 2000 mile roadtrip with it! I'm sure you'll love yours!

I wanted one when I heard about it, but wasn't sure when they were gonna hit the stores in the U.S., so being somewhat impatient, I bought a V-Strom 800DE which I'm very happy with, but I'm still curious about the Transalp and how it will stack up to its competitors. I've watched some European Transalp vids, and everyone seems to sing its praises for the most part, but I'm looking forward to some home-grown vids too. I actually got to sit on one a few days ago while looking for a bike for my wife, was very surprised to see they were here already. Wasn't expecting them to be at dealerships until next year.

Congrats on the new bike, should make for some good content. The Transalp just doesn't make sense as an ADV bike and is why I chose the 800DE. I'm interested to see how long the exhaust last off road...super soft suspension, low exhaust, and heavy rider doesn't make for a lot of ground clearance. The Transalp is closer to a sport touring bike.

It's all marketing and sales strategy. Release the basic boring black one first as a teaser, which will get gobbled up by everyone just wanting a new Transalp. Then next year release the special "adventure edition" that comes with cruise control, tubeless tires, and better graphics. That's the same strategy Husqvarna just did with the Norden Expedition, Yamaha did with the T7 World Raid, KTM did with the 890 Rally, and Honda did with the Africa Twin Adventure Sport. It's super obnoxious for US customers because we're not getting the bike we want right out of the gate, we're getting their loss leader models first and having to wait.

@@neptunetriton Doubt it. Look at the colorways they ran on the CB500X in The States. Of the 3 available across Europe only one was brought over here, and it was frequently the black option. The marketing approach of it is just that they can offer a different color in a year or two to refresh interest. I'd bet there isn't going to be an Adventure Sports version like there is with the Africa Twin, because they don't want to present this as a challenger to their own top tier ADV bike.

I test road the Transalp yesterday, loved the motor, hated the rock hard seat and stiff suspension. I liked the different modes, didn’t feel much difference between sport and standard mode. Freeway performance was better than expected, low speed agility was surprisingly welcome, good job by Honda with central mass distribution, low center of gravity much better than Tenere. I think it has great potential as a light weight adventure bike. Enjoy.

Congrats mate. What concerns me is the pipe location. I don't ride hard and would ding that up first ride,due to most trails in Australia aren't maintained. Honestly i don't know how the fire crews get through at lot of it.

The bike is tall to get your leg over and feels much heavier than the 500x. The power delivery is great but it has a very annoying dronning sound at highway speeds.

So I've been riding a Triumph Bonneville T120 for the last four years. I absolutely love the modern retro old school vibe, as well as the smooth torque and low end power. But living here in New England riding a naked bike makes for a shirt riding season. An ADV style bike with some wind protection is next on my bike list. I'm very interested in your Transalp review. At first glance I see the need for a bash plate to protect the underside and some more aggressive looking tires too. It's a shame Honda didn't go with tubeless tires with offset spokes. I'd also like to see an adjustable windscreen and heated grips.

There are dealerships here wanting around $15k for that thing. LOL. No cruise control, no tubeless tires, no ground clearance with an exposed exhaust and oil pan. I wanted to love this bike but I feel this thing is a big miss at the inflated price. It’s not what we wanted but you will actually test that theory. Looking forward to your thoughts.

It’s a touring bike with adv capability. Skid plates are made for this.

I think the Transalp is more than enough ADV at your skill level. May you have many years of riding bliss. A much better ADV than the Africa Twin. Maybe we will see some maintenance video, since the Honda is a fairly easy DIY maintenance bike. Don't be disappointed on the trails, the Transalp needs an experienced hand to get it through places you get your 450 through. It will be a learning experience. You'll love its easy gravel road and tarmac handling. Deep sand and mud, not so much. You'll need aggressive dual sport tires to get anywhere off road. You'll hate the gravel mode in mud and sand and on loose rocks. Once you get the Transalp figured out, you can move on to a more capable off road 800DE.
