I took acting classes starting in elementary school, and in one program, they drilled us on articulation at the beginning of each class by making us over enunciate words. Maybe this is Shayne’s acting training kicking in.

I get that editing had to happen to cut the run time down, but one of the best parts of these kinds of games is when a round is over you tell the person what ones they missed. It's like closure. So I missed that on most of the rounds here.

Aside from Saige just being pretty good at this, I'd say a lot of the phrases that took little time are phrases they might be used to hearing regularly. Subconsciously your brain recognizes the shapes and movements made for familiar sounds. This game also kinda shows the intricacies of talking/communicating, and that there are many shapes and gestures that are similar, but the addition of sound is what separates them. And now imagine being deaf.

Damien may not have been the best guesser, but he’s great at doing the reading, and it’s because he uses facial expressions and gestures rather than just mouthing the words. That’s why facial expression is a huge part of ASL because it helps to convey the meaning!
