I love how you just keep plugging along in spite of any setbacks, I know it's got to be disappointing to reschedule the next project but I have to say I'm really happy to see that rock cob wall going up. It's definitely going to make things safer moving around during the rest of your build. Hopefully you'll get some good news about the excavator arriving this week and you can get the next phase underway, fingers crossed for you. So nice to see all the various plants and cactus blooming and the hear the birds singing. Have a happy memorial day and a great week you two! ❤

Make a retaining wall starting down below, going 6 or 8 feet high, with concrete and rebar. The internal storage area might survive with those specialized plastic flexible tubes or whatever it is called. The outside the door and a support beam, that can easily fail with plenty of rain.

Hi Jess and Jim, good to see these updates. I am looking forward to your cooling being installed and later, to see how it works for you. I have seen several RU-vid’s on this style of cooling but still not convinced. I am thinking outside the box a bit with it though, that you could use a heat chimney as the outlet vent for the hotter air. I recall seeing one of those chimneys in an old house made from mud. The fellow made it out of 44gallon drums and painted 2/3 Matt black. It vented at ceiling level then out through the chimney. I used to think it was odd but in summer that kept the heat down too, not just the mud walls insulating. It made me wonder why we still persist with timer framed walls as exterior walls. Stay safe and healthy and enjoy life.

China is getting into permaculture, I hear that they are planting a few billion trees, in their desert. Planting trees and bushes, are ways to hold water, in a desert. I would go with berries. Elderberry starts, takes off quickly, and quick is what you want. Underground cisterns are common in Africa, where they have made great progress. Imagine the flora and fauna, that would show up?

Second hand used roofing iron is a lot cheaper to buy most of the time. Silicone with a caulking gun could be used to fill any existing holes in used roofing iron. (If it can be found and building inspectors or inspections are not a problem. Often the side that was facing down when previously used looks newer and has less corrosion if used facing up.)

I just added Methylene blue, only 5 drops working up to higher dose. You both get plenty of D3 being outside but K 2 helps greatly. I used to take medication for fibromyalgia, now with these vitamins I am off all medicine and I am 63. I have jyst this year, after years of having given up, because I hurt so. I now have a garden again. Jess, the Methylene blue and lions main help so much with the fatigue and brain fog, I also use the Methylene blue with vit C on my skin for sun block. On the Central Coast of California I have experienced excessive allergies and congestion. Thankfully from the added rain we have experienced for the garden yet unfortunately there grow a lot of weeds. I've noticed more new weeds that haven't here in the past 20 years and no natives. I feel this is attributes to not being use to this level. I usually take a T 3-4 X a day of raw local honey. It must be local to your area so ingest the natural pollen around you. I do like it with some lemon and heavy cayenne or ginger on the tough days. I hope you feel better. Love watching your process.

Yes definitely have a garden tour descriptions and intentions of what you want to do with the plants . I'm here in Connecticut and whenever I built decks and set up footings for a building we had to go down 40 to 45" in the ground for any Frost heaves. Not telling you what to do but I was concerned about those two posts being on top of the soil and not in it. Through the years of cold and hot Weathers the soil will expand and contract, as you know, my concern is that it's going to move and settle down into the ground . Will your structure be stable enough?
