While you had the front end apart you should have replaced the radiator and other coolant and trans hoses. Because Murphys Law will make you regret it...
You should definitely get an ECU tune for that fixed pulley (and note that it has one instead of the clutched, there's a difference), for longevity and drivability as well as a healthy HP and TQ bump (not as much as the later bi-turbo cars, but can still be rather significant depending on who you go to).... also, an ECU tune to get that trans shifting fast and holding higher pressure. 👌 Edit: I clearly commented before the end, DON'T JUDGE ME I'M FROM JERSEY, we don't wait around to voice our opinions or concerns 😅🤣 (Escaped to the Midwest though, F that whole tri-state area anymore, well, except for the pizza, and cheesesteaks, and Wawa, and Panzerotti's, and Italian Delis, and surprisingly sane women compared to here, and the food, and occasionally the civilization, and the food, have I mentioned I miss food yet?? 😖)

I smoke tested my air box with the spacers and caught a couple leaks. I beaded gasket maker in the bottom edges of the box bottoms to help seat the spacers and make them airtight. Idk if you'll have that issue but it's an idea to think about doing later.

German over engineering??, This is the car company that invented the car, you do know that right??, I think they might know what they are doing. The USA was building tractor engines up until about 20 years ago, not a criticism, I love my '95 GM, but it's about as under engineered as it gets.

It may be the cheapest Mercedes...until you need replacement parts. Well not you, I'm willing to bet you've got parts in your collection of goodies. But the average person would probably benefit from staying away from Mercedes. They will only bleed out your bank account. Not to mention, Mercedes quality has shot down hill at a rapid pace over the last decade or so. Guess that could be said of most things today. Still great fun to watch you whack away at these projects and have a ton of fun along the way. Thanks for bringing us along for the ride.

thats my old car! i bought back in sept 11, 2022. car was in pretty rough shape so i just replaced bunch of control arms and maintence, cleaned it up as best as i could. i traded it for a 39 m5 from a russian dude. i dont know if you got it from him but would love to talk to yall about it. i have pictures, videos, vin to confirm. thats pretty cool, didnt think id see it again haha
The transmissions in these cars are really solid. Only thing that really goes on them is the circuit board, called a conductor plate, and its plug, which is known to leak transmission fluid up the wiring harness. That line will go first for sure.
juat bought a w211 e500 for 4k and i thought it was a deal i want an e55 so bad but couldnt find one even close to 6 gs but gooooood lord this made me want one so much more these cars are amazing
Adding idler pulleys also will help lessen side pressure of the supercharger bearings besides limiting belt slippage.Countering any heat damage to them applied by the torch, ha.
It's a good day when your find out about the service position on a Mercedes hood. It's even better if you find out about it before your first engine swap.
the hammer - this is just a great project and these vehicles are semi affordable to boot - nice to see the more powah upgrades cause you need to have more power for safety and fun reasons. you should think of installing a push to pass solenoid that sprays cold water alcohol mix on the intercooler? a colder charge can boost hp significantly - it may be gilding the lily but could be good content follow up - put a temp sensor on to verify - running e85 may be another good mod - pls put in some electronics and also a afr gauge. sell it and flip it and get more of these. the only downsides are maintenance and tuneup costs which are nuts but if you can diy most of it definitely worth it #german engineering
