Today we answer the question of what happens if we have all natives controlled by players, who then go up against player-controlled colonisers. I think it would've been even better if while the cheats were given, the person doing the edits had secretly buffed up some of the natives even more. Imagine everyone patting themselves on the back for easily subduing the new world when suddenly a massive invasion force from the east appears led by a Tech level 30 Haida that had already conquered all of Asia.

Yeah I disliked how they cheated tech while being Europeans, who already have the advantages of numbers, money, unity and general power, it would have been more interesting to see an actual challenge than him just bullying viewers

@@alexandermichael2027 They dont have the numbers advantage, even in normal games native federations that arent all of the natives united outnumber europeans. In another reply one of the people who played said that north america alone had 1 million. Alongside that the base game tech differences arent enough to make europeans capable of combatting larger native forces, they definitely over compensated though and should have had less of a tech boost, maybe mil tech 8 wouldve been fair

Eh, maybe, but also the decision was primarily made as we thought it would produce a better video. The fact that it didn't work out in the end is just how it goes sometimes.

@@alexandermichael2027 the 10:1 rule to instant stackwipe means that the natives uniting as entire subcontinents is *extremely* overpowered. They used cheats to speed up the game for the video, if they were playing seriously they probably wouldve waited to actually get large tech advantages legitimately

In the latest patches Europeans can't even colonise the new world without having their colonial nations kicked out by unrealistically massive native Federations. It's totally justified man.

no, throughout most of the game the new world is controlled by the natives because they always kick out the colonial nations with their federations. The natives also have the abillity to advance to the point of owning guns without European involvement

@@ARcticcCc-C Yeha because the Europeans jumped themselves way ahead, in normal pace the Natives generally aren't that behind and have unified to the point that it's unplayable for a colonial game, there's a reason so many mods disable natives

Try playing EU4 from 1444 in an MP and colonizing legitly, in a lobby of 50+ people. It would take over 6 hours to get where they did using cheats. I would do the same.

@@presidentjames9811 Looking back on it, them cheating in the military tech was really unnessicary and ruined any chance of the challenge being fair. Adm Tech 10 is fine in my eyes, but Mil 14 is inexcusable. I'll join in disliking the video

If you don't change anything at all the natives are completely crushing due to weight of numbers, we just put in a hot fix for our mil tech and over adjusted because we had to do it in two seconds. Realistically the mp videos are much more geared towards player interaction with eachother and the game rather than having the game itself be interesting.

@@thespanishinfluenza6047 that would be true if natives had numbers. The biggest native stack than was in the video was a 22k Aztec vs a 50k from Laith. It's ok to make mistakes and pepole won't unsub because of One error but the video itself was disappointing since the power inbalance limited player interaction too. Hope I didn't come off as rude, have a nice day😉

There were bigger stacks in this scuffed game alone that just weren't on camera, besides the analysis is on what theoretically could have been fielded, and 43 native players each fielding 10k is 430k troops. Again this game was scuffed and there was not a real chance for the natives but the initial assessment of Euros being crushed in an unedited scenario is correct.

@@thespanishinfluenza6047 I mean I watched the video and saw only those. If there were fights against bigger stacks I don't think they would all have been cut out. If they litterally never even tried a single move or try to organize a little bit to accually put those stacks where they would be useful then I don't think the native players wanted to fight in the first place whic y'know defeats the purpose of the game itself. Again IT'S NOT the end of the world but clearly something when wrong in the proces if aztecs was the only One to have the balls to even try to put up a resistance.

if tech is the issue here why not jump to later bookmarks in the game? you'll have okay-ish countries ready to colonize, so you wouldnt need to cheat.

Later bookmarks are unstable and hard to work in singleplayer, let alone a 50 player mp. Might as well make custom nations at that point.

Later start dates as I recall have like almost unchanged development from 1444 and very few buildings so all that time you and the AI spent building stuff and devving up provinces literally does not exist so the mega stacks you might normally be familiar with are just unsupportable from that bookmark.

It was a fun video idea, but there probably should have been some incentive for the natives to stay in (in terms of buffs or something some you realized they'd lost hope). I do think when they did ask if it was fair, you probably should have admitted the rationale that they create a mega death-stack, mostly because I would have loved to see if they attempt to make it in one last hurrah. Because I do actually agree that the native numbers (assuming they united) would have absolutely beaten the Europeans in the base techs. That being said, I can't say for sure how strong the native federation was, as I wasn't there. That being said, I think the making them sit in the new world while you don't actually play is a hilarious idea.

Have really enjoyed all of the Discord videos so far, thought this one would be a lot of fun too since I love seeing these weird community discord challenges. The moment it was mentioned the Europeans had cheated I lost interest in the video. It went from being a challenge to just wasting everyone's time. Not surprised all the natives left, I'm annoyed just watching this, can't imagine how frustrated the people who actually played are.

Given the title of the video, quite disappointed that all colonizers cheated, strong Europeans nations at that. I don't mind the cheats normally, but there really was no fun here. Also disappointed how you guys bullied the poor Native Federation's king, had to pause and skip to the end. I'm glad you got screwed over - you deserve it Laith (and much more) 😤 Though, making the old world players wait sounds like a more fun idea.

Euros in this scenario are actually pretty heavily disadvantaged just because there are 9 times the amount of native players. Sure we went overboard with how much we buffed them but ultimately the decision was made for content, the fact that it didn't work out is just how it goes sometimes.

I wonder who would win if you made teams of Europeans, Natives, Africans, Asians, and Hordes and started at a later date so you don't need to cheat to speed things up. You could put one guy who you know will stick it out for the whole game in charge of each faction, so if someone drops he can invite someone else to take their place.
