My friend and I are saving.. We are 12 years old. We want to go all around the world. We are going to make ourselves better people. Because we can. And we want to. And anything is possible. And it will be amazing.
+Bibi Sofia i know this is a late comment. but this made my smile. go for it, go and see the world and enjoy every second of it. I am just like you. :)
I am planning a 3 year trip as well, but mine will be a bit different. I want to live the lifestyle and maybe do it forever. I work at Sam's Club as a forklift driver and i'm 31 already saved up $5000 my mark is 10 k. After that I'm quitting my Job selling all my belongings and go see the world like we were meant to. Not work 40 hrs a week for the man! My father fought cancer for 15 years and lost 2 weeks ago. I plan to spread his ashes to every city i go to. I cant wait!
Watching this 6-7 years later when this first gave me the inspiration to travel, brings back such nostalgia and the wanderlust in me. Even after many multiple months long trips all over the world. Now with real careers and lives I cant really leave. It makes me want to drop everything and do it all again. Thanks for your inspiration over the years!
Me too! I come back to this video again and again. I have real career I can’t leave but every time I watch this, I do feel to drop everything and do it all again :(
Dude, this video gave me the hope I needed to finish my last year of factory work. I left 6 years ago, learned a skill, and I’ll never go back. This video still gives me goosebumps.
thank you so much for inspiring me so much. I come from a small city in Vietnam, and now I live in Paris, it all started from this video. It really changed my life.
HeyItsIvo make your dreams come true if you don’t do anybody can do it for u :) I’m 17 and I’m actually realizing my biggest craziest dream: a travel around the world
honestly, this looks more like a positive living and lifestyle then spending 4 years in a classroom again and missing out on some of the most important lessons life has to offer. I'd rather live like this through nothing more than a pack each day. I mean the experience is much more valuable than a degree and money in my eyes
I recently became a flight attendant just to do this.. im 23.. its the scariest most amazing thing I have done. after training they leave you on your own to find a place to stay at whatever base they send you lol but im glad im doing this❤ love love your video. made me cry when i read the thank yous at the end. you did an amazing job.
You have to rememeber there are some people who are less fortune than us. people who dont have passports. people who are in Africa who are trapped under corrupt leaders....
+Piano Around the World I meant by saying: 'everyone should do this' the people who would like to do it, but they don't because they're scared of getting robbed or lost or whatever. :)
i got reminded of this video when i came across his inactive instagram handle. it truly is one of the best travel video esp given the time it got released
I always remember this video you give me inspiration, traveled 5 countries, 3 continents and too many provinces after saw this video I keep coming back to this video every once in a while I need to know more countries, I made a lot of memories and friends around the world Thanks!
This makes me feel like I just went to the best university for 30 years and read 3 millions books in just 3 minutes & 47 seconds. I feel 300 years younger & 300 times wiser. Bravo! Thanks for the life & soul growing lesson mate.
Damn, I’m from Australia and I remember first watching this when I was 12/13, and at 19 I still wanna travel the world one day. Love this video mate. Looks like you had a great time !!
Walter Chang - I am a traveller, for many years now and I watch this video whenever I feel down, lonely or want to feel like I belong to something. It reminds me, that we call this - home.
This is awesome! What an amazing experience. Best of luck with the hardcover book, we're sure there are some crazy and awe inspiring photos from all your adventures.
Walter Chang Do you think the travel worth the money you expend on it? if you can go back in time would do the trip again ? are you proud of yourself? did you fck so much? where more or better? do you visit spain? do you like it? in fact the experience looks great.
This is my dream and this video has helped clear my vision more than anything. I want to visit the great wonders of the world, I want to see everything. I want to understand peoples cultures and philosophies. Not be trapped in soul crushing work. Fortunately I have a lot of money, and I intend to use it not by buying things, but instead using it for gaining experiences and memories, friends and family, to explore and make an impact on the world. Hope that in the end I made the peoples lives I encountered a little better, and leave the Earth a little happier.
FANTASTIC VIDEO! It is obvious that many many hours of editing went into this and we certainly appreciate all that hard work. Stand out for me was the dog sledding -- top of our bucket list!
Walter Chang Thank you for sharing your journey, I'm sure you've already inspired others to follow your general path, and I know I'd like to do something similar. I just have the one question, did you keep in contact with anyone back home to any regard, perhaps with letters, calls, emails, souvenirs, postcards, video chats...or did you try to detach yourself from life back home?
I sent post cards a couple times and talked to people back home here and there when I was online but I didn't have constant interaction. Sometimes I didn't have internet for weeks or the Internet was so slow it became pointless. I met a lot of interesting people along the way so there's only moments here and there where you get lonely. I liked being able to camp by myself and spend time alone as well. I didn't specifically detach myself but just found the need to check in from time to time and then do my own thing.
Mekerz I went solo. Most of the people you see in the video I met while traveling. There's some friends from back home and we organized to meet somewhere. It was nice to see a lot of people from my trip again when I went and visited their countries.
WOW! this is the most amazing travel video I've ever seen! You managed to summarize your 3-year travel in less than 4 minutes yet it is very organized - the signature shots are compiled all together (from checking in to the airport, transport shots, walking shots, selfie shots, all actually!) ,making it looked like your travels are very well directed. Congrats to you Walter. You are inspiration to me and to many around the world. I really wish I could do the same..
Amazing! I love how you put together all your moments, especially the way you included your footsteps on different surfaces. You've inspired me to make a similar plan! :) Please do upload more of your memories. I'd love to see more!
I let me new hire trainees watch this video when I was still a trainer back in 2016. Really nice to look back . Now I am leaving my first job in two weeks time 😭 so many memories. But on to the next 💜
Walter, I just want to say: Thank you so much for an incredible video. I discovered this video a couple of months back when I was going through the lowest point in my life and I must say, having to watch your video during some of the darkest days has helped me to look forward and keep going, to see that there is still so much left of the world to see and discover for myself. & discover about myself as well. Thank you so much, Walter. I too am very inspired/encouraged/wow-ed to create a video like that for myself too. I currently am on an exchange semester at the University of Copenhagen, for 4 months during the fall semester, and have been doing a little but of travelling on the side. I'm doing my bachelors at the National University of Singapore. Hope to be like you one day :) Would you happen to have any advice for a starting-out filmmaker? :)
That is so amazing!! I am so happy for you. I too feel travelling and knowing there is so much of the world to see helps me to believe I still want to live and keep going!! Life can be so magical and amazing if we let it be :)
What I see is, You found a world that You are willing to surf, to explore. Thank You so much, this video is really amazing and inspiring Me, and I thought the people who watched it so.
I have always dreamed of traveling the world and I even started saving up and planning, but I was never sure if I could make this dream a reality. This video has helped to inspired me to follow my dream. So long story short, thank you for proving that I can chase this amazing dream.💙
LXRYLXRYTV You can and everyone can. You are mentally blocking yourself from doing it. I don't have any context about your life but I know you can do it and if you put your heart to it you will.
CASPER BOERMANS Probably can't call myself a nomad yet since I won't start traveling until I finish college in 3 years. But can't wait for it! greetings from a fellow dutch guy :D
If only I could tag my girlfriend in this like I could on Instagram to this video. She lives in the beautiful country of Finland and our hope and dream is to meet up one day and do this together. I'm already saving money for the trip
Oo RiceRiceBaby oO We broke up cuz she stopped talking to me suddenly and then when I asked what happened she basically said "I trust my ex more than I trust you" I told her my darkest secrets, and this is what she did to me?
I plan on traveling for 3 years. For I will be 50 after my 3years . Searching for a place that seems like home. Always knew I could not stay my heart won't settle.
Brian Velez 20k would be more than enough, that's what he spent a year, but you could even do it for 10k, it depends on how you wanna travel, where you wanna go and how good you're at budgeting. He did a lot of couchsurfing and hitchhiking to keep costs low.
I'm trying to stay within hotels but In countries where I could pay hotels for like a month or two at a time, and just enjoy the city and experience the people and their music.
We are planning to travel around the world for a year with our children, starting next July. It's been a dream 10 years in the making, and watching your video inspires and excites me for our own adventures! Thank you for a beautiful and moving video!
+M Moorhouse This is the best decision you can make in your life. I know this because my parents did the same thing for me and my brother, and I can never be more grateful to them for doing it. Just make sure they know what is happening so they appreciate it as well.
+PerspectiveOfMartin Oh, I didn't know that the pyeongyang subway opens up to foreigners now:) I thought only maskdance scene was Korea. I want to go to the subway too.ㅠ.ㅠ
