I listened to this album a lot during my mums passing. I'd never seen this video before. I came back to it for the first time since. Just finished watching the guy hugging his mum at the end. I'm crying dude. Rip Kyle thank you so much for this relic :)
He truly was an amazing guy. After my mother passed in 05 I found this band and their music. They always played shows in my hometown. I went to a show that following year and broke down in the crowd. Kyle stopped the show pulled me to the side and talked to me like a real human. And ever since then when they came to town we always got together and talked about life.
"Tonight when I look into the sky, I know this is why I am alive" I miss you more than you'll ever know Dad. These 6 months without you have been hell.
We Came As Romans really need to be more recognized. They are so powerful and lyrics are so deep, that it can relate to many lives today. And actually save people. Hell I know it did for me, considering battling depression for over 4 years. (:
I'm so torn up over his death his voice has literally saved my life on multiple occasions. You were such an inspiration kyle God bless you and your family I'll never forget how much you helped me
I was a mechanic for many years. We had a mega stereo we built mostly from old technics stuff. Still slammed and we used to crank this song. Miss those days!
I found this description of these videos that was apparently shared by WCAR (when they first came out i guess). I always felt like these three songs told a progressive story and I felt they were cleverly arranged in the album to show that progression. "The three videos we shot portray a person lost, confused and struggling to find purpose in life. He sees himself at his darkest in the first video, trying endlessly to find his way out. After going through a traumatic experience, he finds his way out and his eyes begin to open to a new journey of finding out what really makes him feel alive. Through this journey the man traces back to his childhood house, where it all began. Overwhelming feelings wash over him as he remembers the feeling he once had long ago. Now, with a sense of purpose, he embarks back into the world to take the path he should have taken long ago"
I used to play an online game called S4 League. I watched all kind of S4 League Montages on RU-vid in 2011-2012. Somebody used this song in one of those videos and it’s been in my music Library ever since. I decided today to look up this song on RU-vid because I really wanted to see the face to the voice I've been listening to for the last ten years. Turns out that he passed away and I'm heartbroken.. Long live
316 th view! The love of God can TRULY make you new! I agree with all of this song, except the love from all others can not completely make you a new person again, but with God all things are possible! : )
All the lights, Were too bright to see the spark That I've been missing for too long. Something I've been missing for too long. My empty cup, Could never fill another. I have spilled all I've had, To make things better. But the love of all others, Has made me new. My empty cup, Could never (because of you) fill another. (I am made new) I have spilled all I've had, (Because of you) to make things better. (I am made new) We've all been broken So let us make each other new. So let us make each other new. I've died inside every time I tried To lie to myself about feeling alive, alive. To lie to myself about feeling alive, alive. (I've died) All the lights, Were too bright to see the spark That I've been missing for too long. Something I've been missing for too long. All these distractions, Kept me from seeing what I needed all along, An understanding. I am speechless tonight As I stare into the sky. I feel endless compassion, forgiveness, and love, I feel everyone who is looking up sharing this, I feel unexplainably alive. I need to understand what we've grown to be. Tonight, when I look into the sky I know this is why I am alive. Tonight, when I look into the sky I know this is why I am alive. So sing with me if you feel this feeling. So sing with me if you feel this feeling. I'm alive.
Damn, this band helps with my depression a lot. And so does A Day To a Remember! Sometimes I get so low to where I wonder if I should be here but, those lyrics "TONIGHT WHEN I LOOK INTO THE SKY I KNOW THIS IS WHY I AM ALIVE!" Help me out a lot. Fuck metal elitists who say "bands don't save lives" yeah they do! And I'm sure bands like Amon Amarth/Nightwish have saved lives as well.
I'm not a Metal Elitist BUT the band's don't save lives. You saved yourself! They weren't there to stop you from pulling the trigger, cutting yourself, drinking/ swallowing pills, bleach etc.. It's all you and will always be you, they're words help you through tough times, but they didn't personally didn't save you. Don't let anyone ever take that from you. Again, I'm not an Elitist but you have yourself to thank, they just helped talk you through it! Have a good Night.
Kyle and Chester Benington...The two GREATEST voicalists of our age...gone TOO soon!! They saved my life many times, and I WILL tell them when I see them again. HELL ISNT REAL!!
I've never noticed the "This Is Your Second Chance" at the end of the video before. This song already induces many thoughts, but that line just hit me really hard. They're my favorite band for a reason. They create music that means something. This is real.
Whoever dislikes this must be either a Bieber Fan or is Deaf because all I hear is orgasmic music being played!!! Keep it up WCAR, you never dissapoint!
We Came As Romans have saved my life, and they continue to inspire me in the most positive way. Regardless of what anyone says, if it weren't for them I probably wouldn't be here today. Thank you for being my heroes.
trust me dude, i was the same way, been 3 years now. and im doing ok, never thought i would, keep your chin up and realize that you need to stop being sad and be awesome instead.
They label themselves as definitely not a Christian band but some of the members do have a strong faith in God and it comes through in a lot of their lyrics.
i like how Kyle does his high karate kick in the beginning he wants to be the ultimate ninja lol This band is one of my favorites and they kick motherfreakin ass
i Boilermaker Just saw them a few days ago at Warped Tour. Granted it was bloody hot out and i was slightly distracted by crowd surfers above me, but i thought both Kyle and Dave sounded great live. I've seen old videos and was pleasantly surprised to hear Kyle live the other day. People need to understand that these musicians, especially in this sort of genre, aren't just sitting on their asses on stage. They're rocking out and having a good time on stage. So i personally understand that they may run out of breath at times and that they're not going to sound EXACTLY like in the studio. And i'm okay with that because their stage presence truly makes seeing them live that much more amazing.
WCAR was one of the first bands I got to see live in 2012 at South By So What!? and that whole ending section had me so emotional, and I remember singing along with Kyle and the crowd like it was yesterday. I'm grateful.

Thats all I could fit but thats a quote from their Facebook.
what's really funny is how some of you guys think they're singing about them understanding what they've grown to be as a person. NO! They're singing about understanding what they've grown to be in God.
Beyond words. WCAR has changed my life, they made me relieze that I am alive, and nothing is as bad as it seems. They are a band I will never forget, and always remember their story. Thank you WCAR and I can't wait to see you guys in heaven!!
I love how these guys actually have a positive message, unlike other bands that right about stupid things like partying and drinking. (cough* cough* asking alexandria cough* cough*)
I've finally came to the conclusion that WCAR are the greatest band of their time. Lyrically they're simple, but yet effective same can be said about them musically. Such a perfect band and i'm so stoked to be seeing them live on Tuesday!
Me and my ex broke up the day before our 2 year anniversary and i felt the same way as you, its been barely over 2 months now and im doing fine, you'll be fine man
Rest easy kyle! This was one of my favorite songs and it got me through everyday! You were way to young... Your voice and presence will be missed by millions
I'm kinda glad they stay underrated because if they went mainstream, they would sell out. Yes, they deserve more attention, but if they got it, it would mean the end of them
