Loved the build , can I ask where you got the slim vent cover . Need one for our van. We keep loosing dog food under the fridge 😅. Keeps the dogs amused for hours 😂😂

I’ve got the same fridge in my self build. I wrapped the front door panel to match the kitchen (white). Evo kitchen, same hob too…

Yeah fridge. I've been using a 12v compressor fridge for car trips for 4 years now and I love it. Mine plugs into the cigarette lighter. We can bring all our food and drinks and know they stay nice and cold.

Excellent work and a very tidy job indeed. Being in Japan, I really would like to replace my three-way Dometic absorption fridge with a compressor fridge. Our summers are incredibly hot, with daytime temperatures bordering on 40C and nighttime temperatures rarely dropping below 30C. The absorption fridges have demonstrated themselves unable to cope with these kinds of extremely hot days and compressor fridges are really the way to go. Also, getting someone to refill gas bottles here has become increasingly difficult to the point of being nigh on impossible and so most of us have converted our heating to a diesel heater (runs on paraffin which can be bought easily anywhere here) and heat water only on electric at hook-up sites. I wish caravan manufacturers and leisure vehicles in general, would start to offer a choice of diesel powered or gas powered and compressor or absorption fridge choices.

My preference is Solbio both for toilet and sink. On the expensive side, but environmentally friendly and I find it works (although there is only 1 of me).

An alternative to placing stickers on the fridge door is what we did. I’ve applied a piece of thin Perspex to the cabinet that faces outside the van and applied the stickers to that. If I fancy a change I can just remove the Perspex with no damage to the cabinet. I’ve applied it with some 3m tape. Just an idea.

Well done 👍🏻 we have had our van with the same fridge for 18 months, never realised the ends of the shelves flap down! We empty the drip tray after every trip 👍🏻

Don't forget to clean the new fridge before use, warm soapy water and then rinse with clean water, wipe dry🚐😀 I'm just off to check the fridge shelves in my campervan to see if the end bits of the shelves fold down when stationery in camping mode, I didn't know this was possible ❤️

Did you have to do anything with the condensation tube coming out of the rear of the fridge?

Domestic electrical cable is not suitable for vehicles bud. Vibration will make it brittle over time.
