Still a classic… it’s 2024 & I still love this song the exact same way I did in 2005. Kanye helped me thru a lot post Hurricane Katrina. I was just a kid. He’s the real 🐐 👑
I read somewhere else that Australian and Japanese CD's used to cost more than CD's in other countries, so artists would make songs exclusive to those releases to make the purchase seem more worth it
For those who were wondering why this was a bonus track, it's probably bc the sound was too similar to songs from The College Dropout and Kanye most likely wanted to set The Late Registration (which incorporates instruments frequently used in an orchestra) apart from that. He's gone back to that sound in a way in other albums ("Good Life" in Graduation, "Devil in a New Dress" in MBDTF, "Bound 2" in Yeezus) but with LR being released only a year and a half from The College Dropout, he most likely wanted some distance from the usual sped up soul sample sound that he was associated with.
Classic track by Kanye West ft Talib Kweli, Q-tip, Common & Rhymefest. Although Kanye's still experimenting with new sounds. But, I wouldn't mind hearing this classic, soulful sound from Kanye again! Kinda like what he did for "White Dress".
Talib not only had the best verse on the track, it's probably one of the best verses in the history of HipHop, IMHO. What it lacks in length it makes up for in substance; so thought provoking!
World needs more this type music on radios a shame the promotion of violence promotes ignorance instead of creativity with these riots happening we need this now more than ever peace
It's such a vibrant Thang! I said that in high school freshman not really.know the lyrics lil I got kicked out of Art class' penertration don't. Even matter lol
