The trio just had so much chemistry together and their characters were interesting. I love joy but she was overshadowed and the character she played didn’t make the story better.

dude, moon gayoung is definition of great actress. she can pull a different chara in here and in another drama like true beauty and exo next door perfectly. cant wait to see her play a baddie chara again
Moon Ga Young is beautiful and a fab actress. Her acting chop is way better than most actresses in main role. Please give her a main lead role in future dramas!!!

In that sens, I can also say ppl like eunwoo for his looks. Both eunwoo and inyeop are very handsome but I don't like eunwoo's acting skills. Having more experience isn't always a valid argument. dont watch it will hurt you so much. once you watch you cannot stop but in the same time you cannot watch 😂 I keep swearing whenever the scene tae hee & shi hyun comes out😂
BTW update: I have been watching this drama now and I don't know why everyone hates Joy's character so much. I'm not that far in, just whenever Shi hyun breaks up with her but I personally think Moon Ga Young's character is obnoxious (great acting on her part).
Me too.. They should focus on the relationship between the three of them.. Their relationship is interesting to explore...n shes so cool..but they make her character become worse because of joy... Ruin their chemistry...chemistry between the three of them ... I would have hard time to decide between the two if they decide to focus on these 3 relationship...

Sometimes you have to let go of the people that becoming toxic to you so you won't also let yourself getting drown with them. We can't save and protect someone who keep being toxic to someone. Detach from people that becoming toxic is the answer for your piece of mind. I hate the adults in this drama not the innocent girl that became a protecting shield and save the lead guy from madness.
I hate goody two shoes more than I hate villians. You atleast know the villians are likely to flip out, goody two shoes always try and justify themselves in the name of righteousness
I disagree there was a misunderstanding between them she though he loved her but he didn't actually love her I actually really pitied joy in this drama and felt bad since she was a good person.
gayoung deserves so much more recognition her acting is really good. i have only seen two of her dramas and shes already shown so much diversity. soo-ji and jun kyung are opposites but she does both roles so well
Joy is one of my fave girls but it seems like she couldn't shine like she wanted to in this drama. The rumors about the childhood friend trio making her feel excluded irl made me feel worse. She seemed depressed throughout the whole filming too :( I would prefer if she took a break
Joy's personality is fun and cute, while the 3 of them are focused on Soap opera. I prefer moon ga young here. I was also disappointed that story was not focused on the 3 of them.
It would've been more better if the story only revolved to the three of them. And I'd like a Woo Do Hwan and Moon Ga Young for another drama, their chemistry is soooooo good.

It's an adaptation of the French novel `Les Liaisons Dangereuses', by Choderlos de Laclos. You might have noticed similarities to the 99 movie 'Cruel Intentions' as well which is also an adaptation of the novel. The game they play is the main plot. This is actually a very watered down version imo for how evil/morally effed up some of the acts are in the novel. I personally liked the acting chemistry between the 3 friends as well. There were times where I didn't think it necessary to show Joy's character's side sooooo much. I like Joy I just think she needs to work more on her acting from a secondary role first before continuing in lead roles. She just wasn't ready.
Same i wanted the too to end up together in the drama but it didn't happen so o started crying cuz it was the first time my favorite leads didn't end up together

One of the boys( planned by woo do Hwan) seduces her but ends up actually liking her. However the other girl in the friend group ends up liking the boy as well. You should watch it. The other actors were Amazing 👌

Alookh Ottanzai I get that but I had to learn that we can’t spend our whole life depending on people. Because they are just human and it’s not really fair if we depend on others for our happiness. I mean it would be nice if we had someone that really cared for us, but in the end (if you believe in God) God is the one that can fill that hole.
Moon Ga Young is BRILLIANT. I fell in love with her with True Beauty and saw on Asian Wiki that she was also in Tempted then I remembered I feel in love with her with Tempted too! LOL. She is amazing.She will steal the whole show if they don't cast her with strong costars. This drama is also when I fell in love with Woo Do Hwan.

Yeah... I really like Joy but her character was really out of place? Random? The script and plot were very disjointed and I feel sad that Joy received a lot of hate and this drama didn't perform well. I know Joy is a good actress, but her first major work was deemed a "failure" and I just felt really bad for her (and the rest of "The Great Seducer" cast.)

The thing about this drama is that it was so good in the first eps !! Like soo goood the soundtrack and directing was so good like a movie so cinematic ! And this trios friendship was so uinque and beautiful in a weird way ! But than Joy appeared and the plot changed ! And i personally found it weird although Joy's character was so strong and beautiful but i just didn't like how complicated the plot between all of them was !!

yes and others keep saying it's about their toxicity but bruh after realization they should atleast forgive each other and be friends again coz that's how maturity works. it's just sad that Dohwan didn't even fix their friendship, I mean he was the only one who left just because of joy. I'm expecting Joy to fix it tho she doesn't give a fck about their friendship coz literally after Minjae said that they tear apart because of her, she's just staring and not asking something you should ask coz you know how important their friendship is to Dohwan. I cried how Minjae and Gayoung still blows a candle every Dohwan's birthday even they didn't ended up getting their friendship fixed

The friendship became toxic when they were just basically hurting each other and also using each other . They could have solved it but wounds don't heal that fast.
@@sasuneuzumaki2186 tbh i feel like the writers should’ve made sihyun have more of an inner conflict about breaking off the friendship. the trio was together for so long and taehee and sihyun only knew each other for 3-4~ months ?? it just didn’t make sense for me how he could like someone so much in that short amount of time and instantly choose them over his longtime friends, no matter how you look at it the script was really awkward in that aspect. there should’ve been more of a process of him deciding to finally break off the friendship. the script felt super rushed
The character wasn’t bad, and coming from a literal reVeluv I think joy needs to practice acting. If she was a great actress I’m a hundred percent sure they’d be shipped but I feel like she just memorized her lines and said them
This is the first drama that made me feel so bad in a good way. They portray the characters so well. Soo ji is a misunderstood girl who is traumatized and is more complex then the others. The trios friendship always has this special mark in my mind and heart because they really pull off the wholesome chemistry with each other. I feel like this drama without Joys character would’ve been better. No shade to Joy but it’s honestly the truth. I mean this drama is psychological and melodramatic. I feel like joy was the thing that was blocking their friendship and it all ended in betrayal and hatred. I still want a separate drama of the trio but I know that won’t happen. The glass scene really pulled things together for Sooji’s character. It was so dramatic and painful to watch as I was thinking, being stunned.
The three of them are close friends in real life! They actually knew each other due to meeting in the acting circuit/being in the same company. Moon Gayoung, Wo Dohwan and Kim Min Jae all have excellent talent
Moon Ga Young is such a talented actress I got so into soo ji's character because of her. Most people would not realize the way her acting flows it plays a huge role in the drama itself and she knows how to entice you with the character she plays. I wish she could be recognize more. I feel like ppl only recognize actors and actress if they are in a popular kdrama and not look at the technicality.

He said that he wouldnt disappear and that he would be on her side, but when a new girl appeared, he left her and also broke their friendship pfff he knew that she only had two best friends and nothing else and that's why she starts acting like a bad person . It's all his fault, that's why I stopped watching this drama

honestly it wasn’t joy who destroyed, did you watch the hole thing? they are seriously so toxic with each other, joy is a good person, she indeed was “unnecessary” cause they had enough story with the trio but honestly if you watch it, you’ll learn that they are truly mean and manipulative, witch i truly love actually, so ji is so powerful , she hurts because she is hurt, all three of them are really fucked up and suffered a lot, i guess that’s why they are so mean to other people. The drama is really complex and the ending is TRASH but we can’t blame all in joy knowing what the three of them did.

Sorry Joy I love you but this kdrama would've been rated a 10 instead of a 7 if Moon Ga Young was the female lead with the other two guys being the male lead and second male lead. PERIODT.

sooji or gayoung had chemistry with both do hwan and min jae. the reason why the trio gained so much respect. the three's chemistry all in all was a fan favorite, probably the only reasob why i managed to watch the drama in anticipation of seeing their scenes together. the producer could've just scrapped the original one and made a story and plot without taehee in it because honeslty the drama was better off without joy's character. i shipped minjae and gayoung more than the main couple, but do hwan and gayoung could be also a great pair honestly. i hope the three have more projects together!
They can still add her tho but make her the second female lead I mean do wan is still madly inlove to ga young but somehow they will show through out the drama that he is in love with joy but at the near end it will be revealed that he still loves ga young not joy maybe it would be the best if their secret bet would be revealed to joy at the middle part if the drama and do wan is still doing the plan.

Joy brought a colour to her character that I really really liked. But the drama tanked when she entered. The drama's colour was a tense noir, and she was awkward whenever she tried to keep up with that. Unfortunate.
In my opinion, the problem wasn't Joy and how she played the character but rather the writing of the show and how they incorporated her character in it. As soon as her character, the writing and overall tone of the series changed radically…. I think it would probably had been dramatic, consistant and lively (without all these Breaking up and getting back togethere again and again scenarios), if they had tried to keep closer to the original source "Les Liaisons Dangereuses". Like I thought the 4 first épisodes were wonderfully inspired/adapted from it, with just the right amount of change compared to the original while having a dark tone and atmosphere which is also poetic, and tragic and dramatic at the same time. Like the music and filmography is absolutely beautiful. I Don't think Joy is the problem, rather I think the writers made Tae Hee fall in love and accept Si Hyun's love to quickly compared to the original. In addition, in the book, Madame de Tourvel (aka Tae Hee in the Great Seducer), is already married. So there are two reasons why she rejects Valmont (aka Si Hyun). Firstly, she is married and the most virtuous woman (aka purest, most innocent, most faithful, etc.) in the country or Something like that, and secondly, Valmont has a bad reputation. While in the Drama it mostly if I remember correctly, Tae Hee rejects Si hyun mostly because of his reputation of being a seducer, and because she thinks that he is just playing with her and isn't interested in him. But she doesn't have anything else keeping her morally from being with Si Hyun… Maybe if the writers had kept her moral barrieres and the obstacle she has because of faithfulness or this kind of thing, the drama would have kept the colour it had in the first few épisodes…

As an actress, she would have needed to find time between the lines to flesh out her character's fears and reservations. We could do a line by line. but that would take ages. I'm not saying I don't like her portrayal. I really do. I'm the kind of bias that likes/dislikes an actor regardless of his/her actual abilities.

Gosh she would have made an infinitely more interesting protagonist 😩 The story could've been done in a way that Gayoung and her friends get character development along the way and become better people. But no they had to go with the more cliche route.
seriously joy in this drama is unnecessary, not only she can't act compare to 3 of them (these 3 deserve better drama with better casting).. I feel bad of moon gayoung the most out of them
I love joy as an idol but not so much as an actor I don’t know what her name is (the girl in the trio) but I would of liked the drama more of it was focused on her and her friends.
