On this Fly Fishing Trip Curtis and Cheech got into some awesome fish but we still can't believe what technique caught the most fish! There are several techniques you can use when fishing stillwater and usually the technique we prefer catches us more fish than other techniques but today we were surprised!

Bobber down! Alot of flyfisherman frown on indicators on lakes but reading Phil Rowleys stuff got me hooked on them. I've caught trout, bass, walleye and crappie on indicator rigs. Changed the way I fish lakes and increased my catch rate. Still like fishing "naked" with a floater or midge tip but im sold on the indicator.

I love my 9-1/2 foot 5w Winston I believe it to be my best or should say my favorite small to medium water rod, but after this vid I am going to try it on the still waters!!

One of my favorite places to fish... and yes, when it is cold there, indicator fishing is a must. Phil Rowley or Brian Chan's suggested method of a foot from the bottom doesn't work on that body of water when temps are really low. Ask me why, and I will tell yah a story of wasting 4 hours tight-line'n

Outside of carp and striped bass I've probably had less than a dozen fish that needed drag- and most of those were tippet related not fish size. Carp on the other hand will smoke your reel like a doob at a grateful dead concert if you are on good fish and the water temps are right

They can use any rod and they use Orvis H3.

We use lots of rods and the H3 definitely gets a lot of playing time. Some of the best sticks on the market.

These guys are a great resource for a lot of fly fishing and they come up with great patterns. But if you are a beginner don’t take everything they say as gospel
