I've got a buddy on the Board of Directors at Olds College in AB. I am submitting this video as course material for what farming truly is. 95% of what is taught in Ag school is useless. This video is REALITY and MUST be mandatory in Every AG school in North America. Mr. Mcdick, or should I say, Professor Mcdick, keep on doing what you are doing. Educational, Entertaining and Truth.
As ashamed as most Canadians are feeling these days because of our limp "D" politicians, the VAST majority of Candians are like Quick Dick McDick. Good, Honest Hard Working Decent Canadians. It's always nice to have a breath of fresh air from you QDM. THANK YOU from the Philippines.
@@jimeverden2244 that Fringe Minority has runied our reputation internationally. SO even though WE didn't elect those corrupt a$$holes into power, they have tarnished us all. I am an ex-pat and trust me one of the first questions foreigners asked me is "What the heck is going on up in Canada?" You don't feel ashamed of our international reputation being in tatters? Apathy is part of why things got out of control and we allowed these leftist zealots to take control of every aspect of our society. We were being to nice and didn't want to hurt anybody's feelings. Or afraid to be labeled a as a Nazi, Racist, misogynist or phobe etc. If you are proud to be Canadian you should be ashamed we let this happen. Unless you are part of that rabid crowd inflicting all the damage on our once Great Nation.
You learn something new every day for the last 20 years of me fixing fence with my old man we have always made a-hole splices. I cannot tell you how many of those I’ve made and also had to fix over the years. I hope you’re reading this Dad because I am sharing this video. Lol
@@danielrouw2593 Elk are just jerks and yes they do this on purpose. They watch until you leave and then they all snicker as they play "run into the new fence at high speed"'. I'm originally from the south and can say Antelope are worse. Glad I moved north and only have to deal with Elk, Deer and Moose...only because they taste better then Antelope.
I'm not Canadian but I'm still proud of him and the work he does. I wish you all my condolences for having a tyrant for a leader. You could have sleepy Joe tho..😅😅
My husband watched this with me. He's skeptical of your splice, because he has always done a-hole splices. He thinks your way wouldn't keep the tension... but he's mulling it over. I think he's willing to try it. You may have taught an old dog a new trick!
Once your husband uses QDM’s splice or some version of, he will never us an A- hole splice! I have spent years fixing A-hole splices with a QDM type splice, they will never come apart
@@TimDyck probably! But they got a name for a reason, I stretch my wire tight with different types of stretcher and every A-hole splice eventually comes apart. Lots of ranchers around my place only use a claw hammer to stretch wire which won’t get tight enough to pull any splice apart.
Integrity (including work integrity) is what one man will do… when no one is watching. You, my friend QDM, represent what that word is really all about. Keep on keeping on. Cheers
"...They never show you this on Yellowstone...Do they? No! Kevin Costner in his dreamy jeans!..." 😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Love these types of videos. Whishing the BEST of week and all the success! 🤟🤓🤘
Fencing is a big part of raising cattle I'm learning that well 😂next summer we are wrapping the garden in hot wire 😂 I tried to video the cows in the garden but my hubby was yelling at me to put the phone down and get the cows out Well they were already laying down chewing their cud so technically they were not doing any more damage at the moment 😂 At least the taters were still safe lol
Quick Dick you are one funny life loving man, we need millions more like you in our life. When I worked with CN my last 11 years we had a man like you. You just never knew what prank he would pull on us, every one sure enjoyed his humour. Thanks always for your great videos.
I had to laugh when you called your toolbox the tickle trunk. I grew up in N.W. Washington where we got more Canadian stations on our TV so I grew up with Mr. Dressup.
Never a dull day farming eh QD 😉 Quite refreshing to giggle this Monday morning especial the ass-hole and the potato head (JT).. 😆you got me !! Have a great week!
My observation about SaskTel, is that they have a tendency to go where ever the F they want in a farmer's field. 40+ years ago SaskTel installed new phone lines in the Harris/Tessier district. They started installing the underground line across my uncle's field about 100 feet into the field, as opposed to what old AGT did in Alberta and install along the fence line or in the road allowance. They got a 1/4 mile into the field before coming to ask permission to cross the field! Come June of 76 I am making summer fallow with a cultivator and a round harrow on 35 when I came across a telephone pedestal and post. Swung the cultivator around the pedestal and post, but forgot about the harrow and knocked the pedestal over and dragged the post out. Knew I have f'd up and headed back to the farm to tell my uncle. We went back with a spade, put the post back in and said F it!
I grew up in Alberta, near Airdrie, and this brings back memories. A day in the life of a farmer is long, tiring, sometimes lonely, but all about family. Would love to see a McDick family (choose holiday) gathering. I'm sure there would be lots of laughs ❤😊
City girl, from London,England here..... wanted to farm, all my life, weird but true....moved to Alberta,17 yrs ago.... best place in the world ( i hear Sasks great too 😂) im now a farmer, Hay, cattle,sheep,goats,poultry....living my best live. God is good❤ Alberta O&G.
QDM, God bless all the farmers for keeping us fed in spite of that Napoleon Complex little tyrant, sock boy the turd! I'm retired now, but come from about 400 years of farmers on both sides of the Atlantic - I get ya! Cheers from an Alberta neighbour!
Ever considered investing in chainsaw pants. They paid off big time once for me. At least that rotten potato wouldn't be an embarrassment to the country.
Love your videos buddy! Keep making them and I promise I will keep watching. I've always wondered how a farm works, and your videos are very informative. Keep up the great work my friend. Cheers from Ontario!
Like any business, to be a successful owner you’re working all the time. Always tending to your creation. It never ends, it’s accepted with a healthy sense of urgency. That’s why it has a chance of success. QDM knows this most likely inherently through a mentor, like a father. Good on all the Canadian Prairie farmers and farmers everywhere. You are why we eat.
Watching you haul ass with Morty across the field sure brought back great memories of riding in the back of Grandpa’s old Chevy in the 70s! There were usually 8 to 10 cousins loaded in that truck bed heading nowhere in particular. Best days of my life!
Quick Dick McDick, people need appreciate our farmers and ranchers more without you all we canadians be starving. Our child so-called actor he definitely losing his butter off his brain noodles. Thank you being upfront to us all.
With regards to your windshield comment, Pennsylvania registered vehicles used to require inspection every six months. The inspection stickers (because we are "The Keystone State") were printed with a sizable keystone symbol with dead center orientation. Heinz canned Baked Beans also contained a large keystone symbol on their labeling. In 1954, my 'old man', won a sizable wager, after traveling the entire length of the Pennsylvania Turnpike, and the return trip with a Heinz Bean label affixed to the windshield on the very same day that his sticker expired without being caught. Don't sweat that tiny little stone chip!
Enjoyed the video. Brings me back to when I used to go to my friend’s house for a sleep over when I was a kid and then had to clear all the chores off the list before we could go off on adventure.
Well you have proven by evidence that we are as.holes in Manitoba. I didn't know any different. You just taught us how to repair a fence from Saskatchewan. I guess you have one up on us! Thank you, for sharing.
As usual. Low key and very informative about some of the things farmers do that may not that exciting. However, necessary to feed Canadians. Excellent vid. Thanks QDM. That glove is hiding....
My husband just bought a Milwaukee electric chainsaw a couple months ago, and yes I judged him for it, but I have to admit, it's a handy little thing 😂
Quick reminder that was really cool 😎 seeing you use the post pounder on your Kabota, I used to dig the holes for the posts by hand. Your post pounder is so awesome and easier to use to put posts in the ground. It is a mini pile driver and that is what you would also be called when you drive Blue Ball Quick. I had a few over the years when I drove a truck. 😁😁🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇺🇸🇺🇸🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺
Loved this video!! There's always something to do on the farm. Happy to hear you got the crops off! Just another day on the farm....would be a great series of videos!!
I always hated fixing fences. We were on low ground. I wish we could sell mosquitos because we had one heck of a herd of them Went on a trip with the love of my life last weekend. Down to Amish country in Pennsylvania. There’s a town named after your tractor. Right beside intercourse. Blue Ball and don’t forget about Bird in hand and a lot of roads with suggestive names. Any way have a great day and a better tomorrow. Keep it Canadian!🇨🇦👍
So many modern mechanical tools and pieces of equipment for the modern farm..... back in the day (seventies) we had no such luxuries (not much cash flow either) but we got by with what old skool manual tools and pieces of equipment for the old skool farm....but the knowledge I gained while growing up on that old skool farm is priceless (couldn't gain that in school!) and has served me well throughout life. One great teaching..... Never throw anything away...even if it's broke....ya never know when ya gonna need just one piece of that broken thing or finding something else that's gonna fix that broken thing.... it's called ... Improvisation! 👍
