On this spooky episode of Florida Roadside Attractions we visit The May-Stringer Home of Brooksville, Florida for a preview and walkthrough of their Halloween event, GhostFest! We got to tour this real life haunted mansion that was built in 1856, and is known as one of the most haunted houses in America. I hope you enjoy our experience of the scariest home haunt I’ve ever walked through! Also, we encountered and interacted with the ghost that haunts the attic. Stay tuned and wait to see that door open all on its own! There’s much ahead!

What's even crazier is that that all the windows are sealed, the ac was off. We were sweating quite a bit up in that attic. No breeze to open a closed door. All the others were down a floor on those creaky stairs. Can't wait for more at GhostFest this Saturday at May-Stringer!

Lived here for 38 years drove by the house so many times and never had a chance to go inside 😢 But that beautiful Victorian you drove past leaving with the huge wrap around porch.. Was the reason I always drove out there from Spring hill. I loved to just see it ❤ Coney island is the BEST!!! 😊

I've been on multiple investigations at the May-Stringer, there are definitely nights where the house is just quiet. Last time we were there, it was quiet until the last 10 minutes of the investigation. Some of the other investigators had just left and then boom, multiple voices on the recorder within minutes.. You never know when things will happen there.

I visited Florida in may 1989 wen i was 15 years old and i stayed in Kissimmee for one week did disney world n parks in Orlando then on the 2nd week we stayed at longboat key redington shores! Which was weird cos i live in Reading berkshire England UK! Loved it and as an avid "fan" of all things american it was one of 2 of my best ever vacays of a lifetime!

Buddy your in my hood. I love that place for chow. That stringer house is very haunted. I’ve seen a full body apparition of a little girl in the second floor. It’s very spooky. There’s a real grumpy spirt on the top floor. Enjoyed the video bud ❤.

We went there for Brooksville heritage days. My daughter was 8 or 9 years old the. She had to use the restroom and the ports potties were backed up. The workers of the house told me to bring her to the house and they'll let her use the one in the house. She went in and came running out and said she saw a ghost; the workers said she must have seen Jessee May. I believe that's what the little girl who died there's name was.

They function as a historical museum every other day of the year, the money they raise from the 4-5 days a year they do this haunted house, they put toward keeping the historical museum up and running or making any renovations to the house. Not disrespectful at all. People love to know the history of this place.... It's important that places like this exist, so we can remember the dead and keep their memory alive!
