This is the left foot print of lord " Gothama Buddha". One of the most blessed places of Sri Lanka. The lord Buddha has a most powerful spiritual power in this world and he had melted this stone by his mind power when he mark his left foot print..... If you follow lord Buddha you'll become to "Nibbhana". It means no heaven or hell or any kind of birth after death, you will dissappear forever from this universe....

If you waited a little longer at the top you would have witnessed the perfectly equilateral triangle shadow of the adam's peak casted on the forest below. Try google and find what you missed oit. Thank you for coming to Sri Lanka.

At these days i have heared some news about the sri phadhaya.the news chanels which is public media have forecasted a news about sri phadha.climbing of the sri phadhaya has been prohibited by srilankan government for the srilankan peoples in out of the season.but it is not implement to the foreign guests.i have a questions.why the government prohibited to peoples.what is their's opinion.what is the reason for that.that is not a reasons.because we are sri lankans.we have paid all of the taxes for the government and we can should go to everywhere in sri lanka.this decision is not for the security of the peoples.we should accusate opposition to the government about this decision. 🇱🇰

There are multiple reasons. 1. Path is not lit during the off season 2. It rains A LOT during off season that sometimes stairs are no defferent from a waterfall for weeks. 3. There's not many people in the area. So IF you get in to some kind of accident. There are chances nobody would know. 4. There are not many people = freedom to wildlife. There will be lot of animals enjoing their freedom in their boundaries. 5. A lot of Sri Lankan content creators have started to climb Sripada, off season for attention/views. Encouraging more people to do it, disrupting the eco system. And authorities accuse local hikers of vandalizing and damaging the area in multiple ways. So, if you NEED to do it off season and you are a local, you've to get permission from police and etc. To get a pass.(btw this decision is not finalized yet) And foreigners do not have any restrictions (only if the path is not closed down because of reason number 2) because they do not vandalize the area in anyway. They just go there to appreciate the beauty of the nature. So if local hikers learn to pick up their own trash and stop vandalizing... PROBLEM SOLVED.

It is Adam's Peak for wider world, Sri Pada is only for Sinhala Buddhists, For Hindus its Shivanoli or ShivanPadham. Don't mislead people with your ignorance.

Beautiful road to top of the Adams peak is not this path. Its called Kuruwita Sri Padaya Foot path..the road is mixed with nature. So beautiful and peaceful.

It's Adams peak, the size of the foot is 1.8 m (5 ft 11 in), so the usual feet to height ratio is 6.6:1, so the height of the person would have been 38 feet roughly, During buddhas period nor 1000 years before his period there never existed huge humans, therefore it was not even vaguely related to buddhas Furthermore, biblical and islamic literature confirm that once Adam was thrown from heaven he stood on top of a mountain for 40 years asking god for forgiveness, but there is no reason for Buddha to travel all the way from India and climb top of such a mountain and leave just one footprint there. Also even if you carbon date it, the result will prove that the foot print existed way before Buddha was even born,
