Everyone has their preferences, an winged Regalia would also have been awesome. It gives me similar feelings like the Shadowbringer Collection Mount, they had the oppertunity to give us an awesome, living Dragon, but we got an Mecha instead. At least it was on Brand tho
I like that this Bahamut is based off the spite from FF4 but I can’t get over how silly it looks to have him just carry you in a chair. Truly magnificent.
I will hold firm on this. The super mount for all the lynx's should have been a Couerlregina mount. This was even the expansion when they brought her model back in Elpis! So that could have easily been how we got the mount!
I love the mount. But I love seeing anything lifted from Amano's sketch pages and faithfully recreated in 3D in this game. I know there are people who don't appreciate or otherwise care of the whimsy in that man's art, but as someone older; someone who grew up with the games that things like the MagiTek Reaper, Lunar Whale, and this particular Bahamut are lifted from, it's a dream come true to see them realized in XIV.
Thank you, I couldn't understand the vitriol about this mount before realizing a lot of people who were hating on it didn't know what it was referencing or even know about amano's art really. It's surprising how well they translated his art into the game.

Can agree. Kamuy of the Nine Tails is the best 'full set mount reward so far (Landerwaffe is a close 2nd being 2 seater) but I still take issue that its called 'of Nine Tails' but only has seven Tails showing
Congrats on the completed grind and I also share the opinions about the anemic Bahamut but what took me out more than anything, to the point of tearful laughter was the art of Drak holding up Nophica like from the anime. That actually got me so good
I personally don't mind it, but the last couple of ritual mounts have had this feeling of "how did we go from these to THIS?" I would’ve loved getting a Great Wyrm last expansion. Landerwaffe is still cool, but I certainly didnt expect a mecha-dragon

i farmed the mounts for hydaelyn, zodiark, and barbariccia. I thought about going back for endsinger mount and said nah i will just wait and see what the final mount is. I am so glad i didnt go back to farming mounts for that stupid looking bahamut. I thought we would get maybe a voltron type mount with them being cats. I mean we even got a power ranger themed summer event this year. It just felt like a missed opportunity.
After ShB's cyber dragon, I was really hoping for a Voltron-esque mech-cat. Or a winged Coeurl. Or something related to Endwalker, like a giant Starbird. But apparently CBU3 just cannot let FF4 go and gave us this abomination.
Grats on the mount! I feel your pain with the grind, though my loot rolls aren't as bad as yours seem to be. I have all 7 except for Golbez, and I've got totems for that. I'm helping some friends through that fight for them to get the mounts, and when one drops, I'm always sorta tempted to need on it, but then I remember that the faster they get their mounts, the sooner I can be *done* with that fight.
Every other trial series theyve somehow managed to do the thing that makes me the most disappointed so i really should've expected that they would take away my giant cat since i wasnt too fussed about the funny turtle not getting a trial this time around. I just want to apologize again to my static members for stealing the golbez mount. I wouldn't've rolled if i had known
I got my on content final mount was the Mecha Dragon from SHB. I was so mad that this was the final mount as I love OG Bahamut from FFIV but not with the lynxes. We should have gotten like some of the OG Giant Couerls that we see in Elpis or in the Phys DPS job quest in SHB.

Congratulations on finishing all the EXTs! 🎉🎉🎉 Your feelings mirror mine exactly lol. I’m the minority in my group of friends for this mount - I really don’t like it. And I’m usually a big Bahamut fan. More could have been done with it or it could have been a special mount given at the end of the MSQ. I really was hoping for a super galactic car or Coeurlinga. But my friends who really love FFXIV are stoked so happy for them there. :) Also really love your content! Can’t wait to see more ^_^
I normally have the final ex mount by now but ive been going so slow about it after seeing what awaits me. 😢 It makes no sense to me, going from cat to dragon, and not even a powerful looking one like landerwaffe
The dev team really needs to step up their game with these final EX mounts, because half of them have been really disappointing. The only one I farmed for when it was new was the Kamuy one and man, was I disappointed by that ugly Fenrir with more tails. At this point if the ex mounts of Dawntrail don't look cool enough themselves, I don't think I will farm them until the final mount is revealed and if it doesn't look good either, I will farm them in the expansion after DT.
I was definitely hoping to see something lynx/cat related as the overall mount this expac...but after seeing this, I'm glad I didn't grind hard for the cats. I'll live with my zoid dragon
I mean, I kinda love how you sit on the mount (in the mount's claws? Whatever), but...yeaaaah. I mean, maybe if you pretend it's Ridley from Metroid, it's better?

I know the fatter cat mount is a mogstation but even that would have made more sense as the reward over this and then make this idk an achievement award

Jokes aside @DrakGamestein how does SCH feel to play on controller. I tried it the other day and I felt I had buttons on buttons. I haven't played it seriously since HW arguably but still 😅.
As someone with zero attachment to the sprite the mount is referencing I also don't like it, especially as a reward for doing all the extremes. References are a double edge sword in that their great for people who are attached to the References, but end up as complete misses to those who don't. The mount really should of been obtained a different way. I'm sure many other people besides myself was looking forward to the traditional final mount being a cooler version of the ex mounts in this case a cooler lynx.
As someone who started playing the FF series with the psx version of FFIV i love its design but as a whole package it looks so bad. The lazy/boring wing animation while flying reminds me of diablos. It should drag you around like the magitek claw or have you riding its hunchback, even sitting on its hand like the Monkey mount would look better than him carrying you in a chair like a butler. Fitting ex trial mount for such a lackluster expansion though.
Honestly... its nice that they made the special mount a remake of an old mount from anoth FF game... but this... ... I dont know how much work got put into it but it looks out-of-place...
I'm so glad I got a good one forever ago and have never wanted to do those on content. My Firebird is sweet as hell and that ugly ass FF4 model looking ass dragon looks goofy as fuck
I love how stupid this mount looks and therefore I love that it's the reward for all the lynxes personally. Being carried around by a derpy Bahamut never gets old.

Easily the worst collect-them-all mount. I am a hopeless completionist and I'm thinking of skipping this one, that's how bad it is. I felt happier with the ARR beast tribe "wolf". That anemic, many dog that looks like it hasn't been fed, ever. I never used it again. The robo-dragon was a weird one but at least that was some weird out-there idea, and a two-seater to boot. This is just a randomly picked ugly FFIV reference that doesn't translate.
yea this mount killed my desire to grind EX this expansion. Last expansion the cool mecha dragon was brilliant. Definitely the worst culmination mount.. I'll just wait for moogle events on these.
Honestly just another example of Endwalker slipping again...i hope against all hope dawntrail comes out back on shadowbringers level form but i won't be surprised if endwalker is exactly the mark of the beginning of the end it felt like even in 6.0 and 7.x keeps slipping
I like that its a bahamut mount, and bahamut himself looks great. Why is he carrying a stupid chair? He could just be carrying us, or we could be riding on his shoulder. So many betted options than the chair
