Back in the day I added an inch and 3/4 to the back of the bend mark and put that on the back of the former .bend it ,job done .Also you can add two and a 1/4 for bending 25mm conduit .works every time

What you were calling a "pop rivet" wasn't! It was a Nutsert or blind threaded insert. Similar but not identical device and process. Could have used a long reach pop rivet through the saddle though. 🤔😁

Great process and work. I'd always use a pencil so marks can be wiped off after bends are done. Having worked I north America for 6 years I did miss the proper benders we used in the UK. Took a while to get used to their hand/foot benders. I did like their fast fittings and thinner gauge steel conduit though. The likes of this conduit run could be done I under 30 minutes with the north American style of conduit and fittings.

Try using a bending block like we did in the 60’s ,you could bend tighter angles easily,every one kept their own block jealousy guarded because once it was worn in it was perfect
@andyglass3882
@andyglass3882 2 года назад
How do you make? Or where do you buy a bending block? The amount of times I have had to buy elbows or sweeping bends because I couldn't get a tight enough bend.....
@anthonyschofield7807
@anthonyschofield7807 2 года назад
@@andyglass3882 we had to make our own blocks,usually out of a 3 foot piece of 3x3 hardwood with a 3/4 hole at one end and an inch hole at the other.The holes were carefully drilled from both sides and angled to aid the bending but they took a bit of working in until a smooth bend could be made.Some guys used to burn the hole through to harden the wood around the hole to make it last longer.There are or used to be tighter formers for bending machines that made really tight right angles.Bending blocks took a lot of practice but could achieve really impressive sets and bends

A few people have commented on here about the fact that you called rivnuts or nutserts, pop rivets. However, you must have known that there is a major difference between them and pop rivets yet you gave no explanation as to the difference and the fact that the tool is different from a pop rivet tool. Your videos are usually very informative but this must have left a lot of people who are familiar with pop rivets confused as to how you would use a screw with them.

Not entirely sure when the nomenclature changed, but you hear live, line, and phase (less commonly) thrown around by various people when referring to a line conductor. the thinking behind it is, as the neutral generally carries current in normal circuit operation, it is a "Live" conductor, that also carries shock potential in certain circumstances.

at first: thx for all the effort u put in this clip, but i doubt this way of an electrical installation is allowed anymore (at least in germany )- single wires in steelpipes?! wtf? this was meant to do 50 years ago. this is way too time consuming and too expensive compared to an installation with ether flexible plastic pipes or just NYM-J in those drywalls, eventhough h05-vk or h07-vk is more expensive than NYM-j etc. otherwise, they just do things different in the kingdom, they just dont give a f!?k about norms- not the first time for me to see an electrical installation, out of the kingdom, which i wish i would've never seen. i mean all of the existing wires u see, already installed, where just nailed to the wall. so whats the reason u choose to install single h05-vk/h07-vk wires inside steel pipes randomly instead of use a proper insulated cable nailing to the walls without steelpipes? i dont get it🤷‍♀ if i would do that i would loose my job immediately

This was painful to watch, come to the us and learn how to properly bend rigid conduit. Running threads are a code violation over here as well. And definitely not for anything below 63A in any building. I would fight with my dear life to not let these kind of regulations apply here. Wasting money on sham-safety.
