@@yyqxxk8178apparently. It makes no sense to me. I saw a comment on one of the other TWF channels, and the commenter said they'd watch videos of the picks, or them running around catching mons. They're 100% missing out on some crazy battles.
Idea for Then We Fight- only three rounds of picking starters, but you choose how many pokemon you're taking, either 1, 2 or 3, and no repeat amounts to allow for six pokemon total. For example, you could take a Gastrodon and Scolipede round 1, only a Palafin round 2, and a Zamazenta, Wigglytuff, and Bellibolt round 3.
I feel like it would be better to make your worst pokemon a boss to get the most gains out if it. A legendary being made into a boss isn't as beneficial because it doesn't improve as much.
It doesn't need to improve as much, though...a boss-version Mew is always going to have higher stats than a boss-version Volbeat. If they pushed all the non-HP stats to 999, everything would be on nearly equal footing...but they're still limited by the base stats of the Pokémon (they applied 31 IVs and 252 EVs to each stat to bump them to their natural maximum, affected by nature as normal).
This was a cool idea. I think an interesting way to expand on it would be to require that the boss Pokémon has one major weakness, like how a lot of video game bosses do. Then the opponent has to try to figure out the weakness during the battle.
@@B_Marsh92Something I didn't realize until very recently is that Fluffy doesn't actually halve physical damage, it halves the damage of contact moves, so there are a few different physical moves that aren't contact like Bulldoze or Earthquake that really aren't affected by Fluffy
@@earthbloodelf5289, conversely, there are some Fire moves that are affected negatively by Fluffy...this means a Water/Dragon with Fluffy still quad-resists a Fire move that makes contact (Fire contact moves deal normal damage against a Fluffy target, then you figure in weaknesses/resistances).
@@Dbasty6, I feel like the Huge/Pure Power thing ends up being blocked by the general style of ability selection (throughout the whole group)...by rolling and drafting, it's almost impossible to end up with both of those abilities (or a duplicate ability) and I'd figure that, should the stars align and someone ends up with both, they'd invoke the "One Huge/Pure Power per team" ruling.
What Dbasty said. I think Shady even mentioned something about him wanting to make Tauros just huge power/extreme speed, but that was off the table, so Pat probably disallowed some abilities.
All these RNG shenanigans makes me want to see a battle with the least potential RNG, like only using 100% accuracy moves or moves that can't miss and don’t have additional secondary effects unless they’re guaranteed (like flower gift always critting), no inflicting status that has RNG mechanics to it like Paralysis and Sleep, stuff like that. So basically the only RNG involved is damage range, the chance to crit, and of course the luck you get with the randomized starters
Another strat here is picking mediocre pokemon and make them a boss. Cus Legendary/Mythical pokemon already has a high base stat. It would be a waste of stats if you used the boss card in a good mon
Not as much as you might think...they don't actually push all the stats to insane levels, they just go to the natural maximum (31 IVs in each stat, 252 EVs in each stat). For example, a neutral nature Mew as a boss would have a stat spread of (HP/Atk/Def/SpA/SpD/Speed): 404/299/299/299/299/299 Compare that to a neutral nature Volbeat: 334/245/249/193/269/269 If they made all the stats 999 (except HP), you'd be quite correct...but the lower the base stat, the lower the top end of that stat.
What I love about Patterz is instead of focusing on fusions , customs etc he focuses on best ideas in the original game . Dylan also works on mods ....

You and your opponent pick random starters and have 3 battles, normal moves and abilities If one of you win a round out of 3 you can choose a ability or move for one of your mons and the opponent has to re choose their team Or get a debuff chosen for them honestly this can be two separate ideas but I thought of them after you explained this videos premise
When Shady picked Jolton I face palmed myself. Korvinight or however you spell it. Flying/steel Good against both Urshifu types as a flying type, and a counter.
Challenge Idea: Counter pick. Each trainer picks any 3 pokémon no repeats. You take turns telling your opponent what pokemon you have chosen. That pokemon has normal ability and normal moves. Your opponent picks any pokemon with a BST of less than 450 but they can pick any ability and one move to conter that pokemon. Take in turns doing above until both have 6 pokemon. 3 regular ability and 3 counter picks.
@shadypenguinn - yall should do a lets battle where you have 6 rounds of randomized starters ; best of 3 ; you pick which of the 3 mons is on team 1, team 2, team 3 and can only use each team once for each fight. This would use all 18 mons that get randomized and potentially make hilarious team comps for a best of 3
I'm pretty sure every instance of good luck for Shady for the year of 2024 got used in that second battle. The next "then we fight" is gonna be a best of 3 and Shady is gonna lose 4 times somehow
To be fair, Ash's hoard of Tauros is because he didn't want to seperate the herd when he encountered them in the Safari Zone so he just...captured them all.
