No it isn’t not if it is for an educational purpose Edit: By educational purpose I mean in my state you just can’t sell it like this: It is not illegal to melt, form, destroy, or otherwise modify US coins, including pennies, unless the objective is fraudulent or with the intent of selling the raw materials of the coins for profit. Projects that use coins as materials are entirely legal in the United States.
For those wondering about how legal/illegal destroying the coin is: in the Euro zone it is legal to destroy small quantities of currency, however once it impacts other people it becomes illegal. So you probably can’t melt down huge stacks of coins or burn stacks of bills.
I'm not sure how it works in Italy, but it's typically illegal in most countries to damage, destroy, or otherwise deface coinage or bank notes like that.
No it isn't unless it's a dictatorship. Educate yourself on the law a bit further than just reading it. Defacing currency is okay for decorative or educational purposes, as long as it isn't used for profit (e.g. tampering with coins and selling them for an upmark)
Here in America, our current President has destroyed all of our money. So if you want to make a tag or just line the bottom of your shower floor with a coin, use American.
Just rescued a cat with a collar she attempted to get out of. She put her right front foot through the collar. Collar then went from the left side of her neck to under her right front paw. She was partially immobile. As she walked over time the collar under her right arm caused a laceration of approximately 6 inches. By the time I trapped her and cut the collar it was embedded in her skin. I rushed her to the vet and vet said if I had not cut the collar when I did she would have bled to death because of the various arteries located under her arm. The vet is unable to sew the laceration because of these arteries. Therefore it is a slow healing process with meds, etc. It has been. 9 months now. Still open wound but approx. 1 inch now. So NO COLLARS FOR CATS THAT ARE NOT BREAKWAY😢😢 but beautiful wrist b bracelet maybe?
Los collares para gatos no deben estar así. Deben ser de las q cuando ellos se enganchan a un reja o con otra cosa debe salir fácil sin ayuda de ningún humano
not if you keep your cat indoors. and you CAN use a normal collar as long as they have enough space for it to slip off in a life-threatening situation. but keep your cat indoors and walk them on a leash, you shouldn't encounter that issue
@@j.v3896 cats are very clever and mischievous animals. they like to escape and having a collar on in case they do escape is always better. taking their collar off at night but keeping it on during the day if you plan on leaving the house is the best plan
I was warned by a pet store owner, when buying a collar, to not have one with the pet's name on it. Just phone number. I'm not sure why, but that advice definetely goes for children's wear. Keep identification on the inside of bags and clothing. A stranger can now read it and may call them, children will think that they know them, so making them more vulnerable. 💕
Yes, I also recommend not making it handcrafted and to buy it. This is because if you let your pet outside and it gets stuck on maybe a sharp stick then the collar can get stuck and not let go of the cat. It is possible to make but quite hard.
Be careful with collars! Cats like to climb up in tall places, and if they try to get down and the collar snags, it can result in injury or death, so make sure the collar is either loose enough to get out of, or elastic, if the cat needs a collar!
Was going to comment the exact same thing. I sometimes even have to file down the locking clips on "safe" storebought collars because they are so unsafe.
You made a very fine collar for your kitty, however since cats climb all over the place, you should add a snap release so your loved one doesn't get hung.
Altering coins for artistic or educational purposes, such as by creating jewelry or using them in a craft project, is generally not illegal. However, in some countries, it may be illegal to alter coins in any way that could be considered damaging or disrespectful to national symbols or emblems. So unless they are in a certain country in which this would be illegal (which is not the case since 50 cent coin is used in the US), this act is legal.
Right. It should absolutely have a quick-release clasp (or a breakaway section on the collar strap). They absolutely can hang themselves & it’s common enough that every cat collar I see sold in shops are quick release/breakaway.
I was about to say this. They are mischievous and their curiosity can get them in dangerous situations even as an indoor cat. For those who wonder why, they climb, jump, roll, go under spaces, possibly tight, etc. There are many reasons and you may not get to them in time and could potentially suffocate. As an animal advocate, I do not approve this. My heart sank when I realized it wasn't a breakaway, my thought was I hope this kitty would be safe while I had a violent image of him struggling. So if you care about your cats, please PLEASE stay away!!
@@chronalexander8893 Yes, and what about during the breeding season of birds? Cats are f*cking birdkillers I wish there would be a law for a cat to have a bell. I mean I like cats, but birds I like more. So if you are not totaly stupid, give your cat a bell at the breeding season of birds. Everytime I see a cat without a bell at the breeding season of birds in my garden, I give the cat some fresh and cold water outta my garden hose or tube or what ever it calls. Last year allmost every day and almost always the same stupid cat from the neighborhood Most cats understand this after one or two times and flee already when they see me in the garden. I want to hear birds chirping in the garden and not find dead remains of young birds only because some gentlemen are too fine, too intransigent or just too stupid to hang a bell around their cat.
Dogs, Cats and Cows are Emotional beings. Hens doesn't connect with humans. They don't give Sh!t about you. But we are Farming them Only because of Good Protein source and Tasty as Heaven
All the people disagreeing about breakaway collars: When I was involved in cat rescue, I've heard (and witnessed) horror stories of cats having bells or things that jingle on their collar. They of course try to play with it and get the collar stuck in their mouth. The collar ends up cutting their mouth apart and they strangle themselves. They can easily get caught on things and they can strangle themselves as well. If you have a cat you out outdoors, a microchip is your best bet.
I hate to tell you this but that collar is not good for the cat! It needs to be a breakaway one, that is, it easily breaks away/apart if the cat catches it on something as it's moving through tight spaces outdoors. If the collar doesn't easily undo itself, the cat gets trapped in that space and you won't be able to see it or get to it in time to rescue it! Cats are not as strong or tough as dogs to break free. (The collar you made was very nice though!)
Cat collars have to be quick release!!! Cats climb everything, and they can easily hang themselves. This is a serious safety issue, even if your cat doesn’t go outside or you don’t think they climb, you don’t know what they do when you’re out of the house. I know a couple whose kitten got caught and hanged itself from a curtain rod while they were out of the house.
Why you should NEVER do this: Cats have and instinct to climb trees but sometimes they do fall and because they dont have anything on them they fall normaly but if they have something like a collar, if they fall, they might catch the collar on a branch which could choke them.
Ya yes it's dangerous bcz cats are playful they will play with collar and suddenly it will become a problem if that collar is not removed same thing happened with my cat but Alhamdulillah it's good now we saw her in time
Amazing 😍 , But I'm not sure how it works in Italy, but it's typically illegal in most countries to damage, destroy, or otherwise deface coinage or bank notes like that.
here's an idea... you should have added some soft texture inside those holes so you had something similar to a cat paw so you can touch the paw whenever you want, it's also a stress relief like a stress ball of sorts.
Please please please please please use breakaway collars for cats and dogs. If a collar like that gets caught on something when you aren’t around your cat could die. Don’t use collars like this.
Idiot can't you see the leather is thin so it breaks easier. Also the cat could easily pull it's head loose from the collar as it's very loose on the cat and third the cat is a straight up in door cat he only put the collar on to show us how it looks. SO PLEASE STUPID WATCH THE VIDEO AND ALL THE DETAILS BEFORE U COMMENT 🙄🙄
@@savethehorses8339 I did watch. Videos like this often encourage others to make the same or buy one that is similar. Even if this one was made with really thin leather that would break, people may see this, like it, then buy a different one with thicker leather. Or they may make it themselves. Either way, people don’t do enough research before getting a pet so making sure to spread awareness on safety issues like this is important.
In Canada it is a crime to destroy (including burn) currency in the form of coins. This is legislated in the Currency Act and also in the Criminal Code of Canada. an individual convicted of this offence would not only face a criminal record but potentially they would also face a fine of up to $250.00 and up to 12 months in jail.
Its fine to have a collar for cats, afterall its just as healthy if you train for cat to walk with harnesses as it is for dogs. Cat collars should at LEAST be break away collars. Also, its good to have a collar on EITHER cat or dog. If something happens (them getting out the house) you WANT people to call you if they find them.

It is illegal to tamper with coins or notes in all of the countries esp. in developed countries. In EU it is punishable by law with imprisonment and upto €1000. Because it is a nation’s wealth and when you tamper with it, it directly destroys that wealth which is not good for any country’s economy. And so is to create counterfeit coins and notes as it does the same to an economy.
It is legal as long as it's not being used to embezzle money and not duplicate coins. If it's used for recreational (art) or scientific or research purposes, the destruction of coins is allowed. (suprisingly this came up in another video I've seen.)
Before a massive brain person replies, here’s a quote from EU (this is a 50 cent coin from the EU): „The destruction of small quantities of euro banknotes or coins by an individual should neither be prohibited nor penalised.“ And also, in many European Union countries it is legal to destroy money, in the United States it’s illegal, but don’t project US American laws on European laws.
