You guys are so fortunate that Cody's dad and friend Dean are so talented with repairs! RV body shops get a lot of $$ to do those types of repairs. Keep an eye out for leaks around and behind the shower. A tiny drop of water can find its way where it shouldn't and cause a lot of damage. Stay safe out there.

Im so sure this is stressful and frustrating for you. Honestly, I can totally understand how that stand could get hooked on something. It’s kinda positioned in a tricky spot, right? Good job. You guys did a nice repair and got off much easier than I was expecting. I tore out my front right TC jack, tearing apart the front right corner of the truck camper last year. I got it all fixed in a couple days but what a guttural feeling it causes when you hear that noise and realize what it is. I suppose for today you could change the name of your channel to "DOH! Life"... Those fathers deserve a pizza and a beer!

So sorry to hear about your camper accident. I had a similar accident in my suv. Ran over a hidden water pipe and it ripped off my bumper and front grill. I know how you're feeling! It will all work out! Just FYI, my husband I own a camper too (it's a little bigger than yours- has a dinette slideout) and in the manufacturers handbook states that your manufacturer warranty is voided if you live full time in the camper. It's an Adventurer 4 season made by Eagle Cap. Just check your paperwork in case your planning on your warranty being valid.

Niiiiice job!! You probably realize that you have voided your warranty. We had a one year manufacturer warranty and a three year structural warranty (which would cover your accident repairs). Our biggest concern is that the structural integrity was negatively impacted, so get someone in the RV mechanics field to do an inspection before you go too far. The constant vibration from being on the road can also have an impact. And finally, watch for leaks! Just advice from two full-timers. Good luck and safe travels! ❤

Great Repair. You had AL tubing in corner. I pulled the lower drivers side camper front to back 8-foot bed rail wood 2x2 loose and spent hole day in H D parking lot repairing it in Las Vegas, NV. The entire camper only had wood 2x2's, small strips of1/4in plywood glued to outer skin and thin styrofoam insulation. then glued on plastic skin on inside. Looked good but not very strong. Pieced it out and built out a promaster van camper with parts.

Y’all actually handled that very well. As an RV owner, I was stressed just watching. I’m amazed at the work y’all were able to do. Your dad & his friend are awesome! I can tell you from personal experience and lots of horror stories that you would have been waiting months for a dealership to repair your camper. Not to mention dealing with and waiting on an insurance claim and paying your deductible to later possibly have your rates increased. Someone mentioned in the comments that it could have been covered under warranty. I’ve never heard of an accident being covered under warranty. Someone also mentioned negating your warranty. I’ve often heard RV warranties are basically useless. I know even minor warranty repairs take months through dealerships and they look for things to charge you for. I’m super impressed that you were able to fix it with the help of family and friends. I would have been a stressed out mess.
@7ty640

Sucks you caught a short parking pole, but could also have been a stump. Add some diamond plate skirts from the wheel well back that shields anything from ever hooking the camper's lower section again.

Sorry about the damage! Happy about the repair. Tip, when putting silicone caulk on, spread it on just like you did. Then spray the line with glass cleaner, and smooth it with your finger. Won’t stick to fender and won’t stick to anywhere except where the bead was. So no smearing. Hopefully, you sealed all those screws. Didn’t see any behind the ladder plates before putting in the screws.
