its still unbeliveable that they're making dryo an hour, they get one shot by everything and do little to no damage, but im glad they toned down tenos growth times i guess
Dryo being one hour+ is WILD to me, but then again when I had regularly played Legacy before Evrima that shit only took like 15-20 minutes, lol. At least things are looking up. Thanks for the information!
Im glad the growth times were actually altered. It bothered me so much that pachy was almost the same growth time as carno. Not sure if i'd say they are all perfect now, but definitely much better... It felt like small to mid tiers were being punished whilst many of the larger dinos had it way easier. 👍
I'm not an evolutionary biologist but, IMO as a laymen loser, a human will grow slower because its brain demands much more energy than a bison brain. The brain is the hardest thing to develop properly. The Human brain is so large and complex that it literally folds in on itself because the human skull is too small to fit it all. This is where the smoothbrain meme comes from...... It's probably wrong af, but it makes sense in my head lore.
1:01 to be fair, bisons grow quicker because if they didn't they'd die sooner. i mean when your predators are wolves and bears, both capable of decommissioning a human in 1 or 2 shots. its just evolution. but when you look at humans, fine where weaker and we aint the heaviest animal on earth, but we can kill creatures like elephants in like 1 or 2 shots. if IRL was a video game, humans would be the most OP creatures and it would make sense they take longer to grow because we are realistically an apex tier, which is also why its scary to think humans will be playable in the isle. (although thats just a fun way to put it, the real reason we grow slower is because our brain takes longer to develop)
@@kreo45and who said anything about just guns although the literally named "elephant rifle" is still very effective. rockets, nukes, tanks included. and fine, unarmed 100% not. but we can, and if poachers have taught us anything, we 100% already have. and thats all that matters.
Horde Testing has proven to be pretty effective. Also the newest build on Horde Testing finally got rid of the in game stuttering (sometimes people call it rubberbanding) that's plagued me since the start of Gateway. I am beyond happy at that! Good work, keep it up ^^
@@Tina_1009 The thing is though, at least for me, I would stutter on >20 player count the same amount as 100. Technically the "rubber-band" isn't an actual rubber band even though everyone is calling that. Ping stays the same and FPS will go from green, flash to red for a split second then back to green again. This is purely something optimization based, whether it's on the client side or the server side. I think the later because literally everyone has suffered from it, every content creator, regardless of GPU specs. Whatever they changed recently gives me hope but you are right, we will see once it hit's live branch!
The devs said on discord that they have considered the option of extinding the time you will need to grow at juvie stage, cause they plan on adding some sort of “fun” things to do when you are small
I really friggen hope not. Whatever it is, it better be ACTUALLY fun, but I think we know what the devs idea of "fun" is. The grow times are really good now and should be left as is.
No. They said they’re shortening juvenile times and making the fun growth stages (subadult and adult) longer, essentially taking away juvenile time and giving it to both growth stages, and when “fun” juvenile mechanics are in place they’ll consider whether or not they’ll keep the horde test growth system or not.
They used the stupidest example too, a better example would be rabbits and wolves, or goats, since rabbits become mature at about 6 months 💀 Still, herbivores are literally born to start running from danger, some predators get to enjoy childhood in a way
Islecord is full of idiots, its hillarious. They are comparing a game to real life. Lets take their point yes a bison grows faster than a human, but will that human ever have to fight a bison one on one?
@@jordanmccall246 growth speeds and growth times indirectly affect the balance of the game's ecosystem. If carno and Omni take the same time to grow, that's going to severely negatively impact omni's growth difficulty, and increase the carno population because most people would rather grow the bigger and stronger carnivore that take the same amount of time.
@@halfslyced People will be more inclined to play what ever creature they prefer. If carno and omni took the same growth time then nothing would change. 100 carnos could hop online however food restrictions would keep them in check. Im not aware if the new stomach/full values are in yet but the Evrima is striving for a more diverse gameplay vs actual brute strength. But in all actuality growth speeds affect some of the player choices however if players simply went off of growth speeds why dont we see 1,000 dryos?
its a stupid idea with the realism, its not a realistic dinosaur simulator its a videogame. they should prioritise what makes the game work the most not what is the most realistic. also thank you for growing these dinos to show us how long it takes, it mustve taken aaaageees, like the whole day.
the sad par tis, he'd no sooner grown them all once already only for a new patch to come out with different growth times xD so it was back to the grind.
@@AA-vi1cc I hate the term realistic at this point xD it feels like a way to make the game less fun. They never do real things that are fun. Just hell.
Glad we got you and your mates out here doing the some good old QA. I haven't played the game in months, and I've been waiting/hoping for an update to bring me back, this one may be it.
Kav and co legit doing more than their QA team. Seriously, how the hell did QA greenlight the original growth times, they gotta be completely out of touch.
@@karenboy1005 Truly, they also got Dondi breathing down their necks probably. Good thing we atleast have anti-bootlickers in the community ready to test and present legitimate feedback for the game.
Stego being 5 hours is crazy. Can’t wait to grow for an hour and a half and be almost 3t. Stego needs to grow way slower or get its waight after it hits 50-75%
I grew one yesterday. I don't have the exact time but it seemed very long, only had 50% growth boost tho. Edit: Nvm, today it seems better. Also, adult beipis breach is still shit :c
Really glad to see the devs listening to the community and props to you guys for testing these growth times and helping get them to a more balanced state
Prey should grow faster than Predators unless they have extremely bad diet. Many large/small herb's in IRL grow at an increased rate due to predation. While predators grow slightly slower due to food demands. If we would use birds as a basic format for The Isle, the more you feed hatchlings/juveniles the quicker they'd grow. However the feeding mechanic for hatchlings isnt designed for that so while it is a good idea to shorten growth times for herb's it will most likely never happen.
you should put your dialog over your silent fast forwarded grow times. seemed odd sitting here watching your video in complete silence. but loving your stuff keep it up!!
iirc omni was able to pin a galli for a long time, like since Spiro, and it doesn't need any changes, Galli is faster than an Omni, it's nearly unkillable if it doesn't get ambushed, so the slow acceleration is intentional and necessary.
The reasoning (assuming they actually thought of a reason and didn't just slap a random number on it) is probably that Galli is like the easiest thing in the game to grow since it's so fast, so they made up for it with more growth time. Anyway, I don't really care, some extra growth time ain't gonna affect my baby kicking capabilities.
It was already clear to me when the stamina changes first came out that a certain portion of the community have no actual intention of helping the game progress in any meaningful way and simply don't care about the game being good. All they want to do is pander to the devs and white knight every little change imaginable, no matter how terrible and game ruining it is. If tomorrow the devs push out a patch where Deino runs at 40 km/h and Carno can now jump 20 feet in the air, these people would find a way to somehow defend even that. It's not about improving the game, it's not about making the game accessible and enjoyable for as many people as possible, it's about keeping an image as the devs' good little boys amd girls that will defend them against the mean and toxic haters that criticise everything. It's absolutely astonishing what complete brainrot arguments they'll come up with to defend the most unforgivable gameplay changes, and this whole growth times changes thing really put into perspective just how little the average Islecord user actually cares about the community's enjoyment of the game. For the game being in this absolutely horrible state that it's in, I blame the devs for having absolutely 0 awareness and foresight, making the most ridiculous changes known to mankind and expecting people to be ok with them. I blame QA for not doing their fucking jobs of telling the devs that their changes suck donkey behind and always taking the devs' side. I blame stress testers for joining the stress test just to make a terribly boring 5 minute video about the new content on their dead RU-vid channel nobody is gonna watch instead of joining it to actually help out the game with bug reports and feedback, leading to a stress test with hundreds upon hundreds of members still not cracking 20 players on a single server at peak game hours because they don't care enough to play the stress test that they willingly joined. I blame Islecord for being a complete and utter waste of space and oxygen, defending the most terrible changes imaginable and giving suggestions so bad that they actively kill my brain cells when I read them.
It has been extremely obvious with the stamina change that a lot of people have no opinion of their own, they only parrot what they have heard from the devs either literally from some stream/Discord post or what they assume from changes made to the game. When stamina was at its worst and certain dev said it would stay this way = Praising devs for it, the game is perfect now because this is actually how they prefer to play the game! Its so much more fun now that you have to manage your stamina and not sprint around everywhere, anyone that has a problem with these changes can go play something else lololololol this is how the Isle was always meant to be LMAO. When stamina changes started to get walked back and QoL trotting regen added, same people = Praising devs for "fixing" it, OBVIOUSLY everyone knew they were going to do it but all of us complaining children couldnt sit still without crying our eyes out LMAO. The game is so much better now with faster regeneration, the devs knows what they are doing and listens to us after all! Lolololol We told you so before! I love that my dino can sprint a bit more now and recover while on the move.
@@TheHuffur Literally this. These window lickers legit have no personality, no opinions, no set of beliefs or boundaries. Whatever the devs say and do is law, and if the devs do a complete 180 in what they believe is right for the game, they'll immediately abandon a thought process they would vehemently defend just a day prior because the devs changed their minds, so now they have to as well. I bet absolutely none of these human invertebrates who boasted about how good the new growth times were will possess the same opinion now that they're changed. Absolutely pathetic, spineless behaviour. Imagine not even being your own person, not having your own values and thoughts. Everything you say and believe is dictated by a group of developers who, let's be real, doesn't even give a squat about you and your efforts to defend them. They're doing more than fine, they don't need you and they don't care about you. It's even more pathetic when you realize a good percentage of these people are content creators, QA members, and stress testers. People who, logically, have at least somewhat more of a voice than the average player, interact more with the devs, and have more chances and means of providing valuable feedback to the devs and trying to influence change, and they choose to do absolutely none of that, opting to instead simply parrot everything they can deduce is the devs' intentions at every turn. I saw QA members and stress testers defending the old stamina system with their lives, literally acting like it was gonna save the game and everyone complaining about it is simply wrong, yet I have seen absolutely 0% of them criticize the devs for changing it again, even though it was supposedly so good and flawless before. When people were complaining about Cerato being too weak, they would ridicule everyone for having an opinion and act like Carno face tanking Cerato is completely fair and balanced, until Dondi said that Carno shouldn't be able to do that on a stream and Cerato is getting a buff, then everybody was suddenly on the Cerato's side. I could never bare living with this kind of personality, being just a jellyfish version of a person, no backbone, no individuality, nothing. I'd rather get dogged on by the entire community at once for speaking out than just being a walking 140p bootleg version of the devs' views and opinions.
this is why im waiting for mod support to come out hoping a server will make changes the majority ask for that the devs wont bring . the head dev himself actually believes that listening to player feedback is like being bullied .
I've never actually timed the current live branch grow times but they are ok. But are these new horde test grow times, shorter or longer than current live branch ones???
All the testers and fanboys will praise anything the team does. Even the worst stuff they'll find some way to justify it. The game and the community have zero credibility any more.
honestly shocked the devs actually backed down on this and didn't pull their usual im the dev and you aren't to pls stfu , update might end up being decent afterall
