I mean is the linustechtip community only one showed up fully dressed, and they had to give the other guy a jacket so he didnt looked too lewd for the video.
Well, at least you know that Linus never gets boring. Will he surprise you with a bouquet of roses? Probably not. But he sure will mount a projector to a car when you least expect it.
Then you're wrong here. You should watch The Hacksmith. When talking about it, I realised, that I would LOVE to see a cooperation between LTT and The Hacksmith.
they didn't want that many people to show up, so while they did give notice they didn't give that much, so either diehard fans or people who had nothing better to do (mainly both) that were also local were the only ones
@@kylefowler3333 There's still RGB. I found a rgb led mini-light for ca front lights that can change in any color with a control or even rotate colors.
The outdoor projector will do wonders! My old company had a truck with a at least 50+ft inflatable projector like the one in the video and do family movie nights at the yard. It is great to have if you have a lot of people to entertain
Idea for next time.. instead of a laptop, why dont you just build a PC into the car and take it a step futher and make it a proper 2018 gaming machine by adding a RGB undercar lighting kit to the lambo. Also next time you decide to host one of these middle of nowhere events open to the public.. Don't post it to your Twitter.. cause let's be honest.. how many of your followers and fans are actually checking your Twitter each day who also happen to live in range or are willing to travel.. You'd probably have a much better turn out to these random events if you actually posted a quick 15-30 second RU-vid video announcing the event.
@@blanked_out_chin yep, replace the stock seats with Recaro racing seats.. then literally it will be like having DXRacer gaming chairs except the real thing.
I love the fact that this is his car, I’ll get jealous over the awesome computer stuff he has, then I remember he has this car and I’m brought back to my senses. Not just because his car is shitty, but it goes to warm place in my heart because when I was young my family had an old Subaru Impreza that we did some crazy paint things to. It was white and it got yellow hubcaps with flame designs in rust paint (over the rust of course) and market patterns and little pictures all over the place
That's actually a really cool idea, obviously the car would have to be inside and not roadworthy, but you could replace the steering wheel and pedals with Logitech ones for example, and fit an ultra-wide monitor to replace the windscreen - that would be a sick racing simulator. You could keep the rest of the car intact, even fit comfy racing seats and there'd be plenty of roof to hang headphones in the cabin. Passenger seats could be smaller versions of the front, or you could have multiple pairs of headphones (one for each seat) wired into the PC, thus sharing the experience with some friends.
@@AidenHowlett Or you can keep the windshield and have a projector screen off the front of the car (and if you're really balling, to the sides too in eyefinity configuration) and have a pretty solid racing sim.
Well, it's a gas engine, so you don't want to get the electrical components too wet. (Whoo Hoo! Diesels have no electric ignition system! Who's a sorry piece of junk now!) BUT, with that said, the amount of liquid those drill holes would let in isn't enough to get the ignition system wet. (The car has friggin holes on the front and bottom that lets water into the engine compartment.) However, the rubber pad might be better for the projector mount and not the car. ;)
@Ezequiel Santos Psssht, the amount of water that would get through there is tiny compared to what comes up from the road or through the front grill, the bonnet isn't there to keep it dry.
Linus’s videos about tech are so much more entertaining than other tech channels, he has funny projects and a sense of humour. Other channels drone on and on
As I recall there used to be a drive-in movie theatre in Langley and/or Surrey way back in the day when I used to live down there. Now you can make your own.
I know you're kidding, but hondas generally run at 200-206F (93-96C) temps (even in the cold they will get this hot at idle, 206 is the general fan kick-on temp). Not sure the GPU would like that lolz.
@@TheNightzfury don't know too much about cars but would it be possible to modify the sensor parameters so that the fan starts cooling much more aggressively at a lower temperature threshold?
Some of the bolts on your care are barely more than finger tight. The lifters for example are generally attached with 15-20 ft-lbs of torque. I tighten those down with one finger on my torque wrench handle to avoid over-torquing them. If you tighten them too much, you will hear it in the form of lifter tick. All but a few bolts on your car should be tightened to no more than the point where it feels snug plus 1/8th of a turn. The majority of them, you should never ever under any circumbstances use locktite on; in fact you should coat them with an oil like silicone oil or petroleum jelly.
@@eideticex I work in a train workshop and our bolts start at M16 and we use either self-securing nuts or glue/special washers. And you're right, most of the bolts shouldnt be glued, but this thing is attached to the hood (thing sheet metal, loads of vibration) and there is a rubber mat inbetween the hood and the projectorstand. And here a video from Nord-Lock: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IKwWu2w1gGk.html
@@onumetru9900 I'm familiar with Nord lock washers, have a variety box in the garage I use whenever I have to deal with rotating elements that experience a lot of torque. If you can't sit a full glass of water on the hood of your car without it spilling everywhere, you have some problems to work out under the hood. Generally a sign of a failing rubber bushing around an engine mount, transmission mount or body mount. Even while driving the hood really doesn't experience much in the way of vibration without a failure somewhere causing it. I do however agree nord lock washers or self securing bolts are a good idea here, if not for any other reason than it's a bracket that will be jarred about when attaching and detaching the projector.
@@eideticex Ye my car is 21 years old so the rubber bushing could be a bit stiff by now. I compared my hood with that of a friend and his car doesnt vibrate as much as mine does.
I know you like jank. But you should make a custom fit desktop with loud loudspeakers and the projector that can perfectly fit into the trunk of the volt
I don't have a twitter but if I did and if I ever saw one of my favorite tech youtubers inviting people to hang out in a field in the middle of the night with a unicorn balloon, free pizza and videogames then asked me to bring a blanket i'd be like, yeah no buddy, you got hacked and hackerman is hungry for nerd butt, i'd rather keep my exit hole as an exit.
Definitely not the first, go check out a documentary called Racing Extinction. They did that with Tesla a few years ago and they projected all over New York, including the Empire State Building and the UN.
I'm a projectionist, and I actually did this same thing this weekend at a festival. Had a 70lb 7000 lumen projector on top of my van. It was glorious....
ViewSonic: “Hey, want this projector for a video?” Linus: “Sure!” ViewSonic: “Great! Can’t wait to see your review!” Linus: “Alex, get my car. I have an idea.”
They built a buffer for when Vessel launched of a week in advance - but kept that week's buffer after it closed so incase something happened and they where unable to film a video for a day or two they would still have a full coverage. RU-vid punishes channels for not releasing daily so it's pretty important to always have something ready to upload.
