I fought toast’s young link at a regional and I’ve had full faith in the character since then. I truly believe he is a fantastic character who is underrated constantly because of his stubby range and the awkward nature of his combos when optimized, but Yink can just take a mile after giving him such small openings.

Fr, rob may be big but that is literally the only downside to his character and he is annoying as hell to play against. Even in this video clips of rob showed his down air spiking at a ridiculously stupid spot and constant use of his side b which is definitely all skill.

Used to play Garry’s mod zombie survival with epic Gabriel. He told me he was a top rob player in 2018 and it’s kinda insane to see him still mentioned. One of the most odd places to find a top SSM player

I used to say the same thing about Sonic and wondered how he wasn't top 5 lol. Young Link is another character I've always felt is obscenely strong despite not being played much.

He's rated pretty accurate. Has some good things going but some glaring weaknesses. Most of his combos look niche. Compared to the other two links he just doesnt get the job done.

he's a weird case of having tons of insane tools, great neutral, ledge trapping, long conversions even from far hits of projectiles. absolutely cracked. also has decent enough oos. BUT, he has very little bullshit and can randomly die early cause bad recovery. more kills come from his inconsistent yolo up b than youd want. he isn't a one-touch or two-touch character and has to go for resets and reads on escape options and even then his bs factor is really low. when good edgeguarding characters can kill you earlier than normal too, that kinda sucks.

@@dagoodboy6424 most his bs is just out neutraling most characters and his uniquely strong projectile conversions. but like, he doesn't generally rob you the same way ROB does (accurate character name). or like ofc roy in the video, who just tech chase fsmashes you at 60 and you explode. zss random nair down b at 40 near ledge. wolf and wario deciding to end your last stock at 10. everything mii brawler does. kazuya and steve lmfao. also yl has a pretty bad grab and throw reward so that feels important to note, he can be suffocating but you can usually breathe in shield.

Young link is a zoner with the frame data of a brawler and no issue killing you (very well designed type of character in ultimate) only reason you don't see him moreis cause dlc is that much more broken
