Thank you for the video. Beautiful scenery and people. When we went on the boat trip last year, I gave the woman a tip of VND200k, about USD8 or 9. It's my money best spent. They don't get paid much from the ticket at all, and only are allowed 1 trip a day.

Oh wow we didn’t know they can only do 1 tour per day 😳 yeah we’re glad we gave a tip too. He did a great job and was smiling the whole time 😊

I had to ask the woman to know more as she would happily do her job without complaining. They had to pay to do training and exam to be qualified for the job. Only people from villages within proximity of this location are allowed to take up the jobs. Even though it would be hundreds. That's why each household is allowed only 1 trip per day. Still it's a very important source of income beside farming.

I think a lot of people think Vietnam is tropical so it's warm year round. However, Vietnam is a long country and the northern parts get 4 seasons. If you want to see green rice fields and such, come back around June (very touristy, though) or go around September/October when the rice fields are golden (may need to check as I know it's also rainy season around September).
