The worst part about the women side is that they had someone who knew what they were doing. They were a park ranger and had competed in survival competitions before but they "didn't want to be told what to do" so they shut her down every time. She ended up doing her own thing after a while and it went pretty well.

Sharkfin soup being controversial is because of how it's fished, most of the time they just take the fins which sell for a lot, and dump the carcass overboard because shark meat isn't as valuable. Eating shark is actually pretty common in Australia, you can get it at most fish+chip shops.

I saw this a long long time ago. The men found a good beach and camp and fire the first day. The women walked around in circles for like 3 days before finding camp, but then they lost the camp trying to find each other in the jungle. Eventually the producers had to give them fire starter kits cause when they were about to die. They even released two piglets who went right to the ladies (obviously domesticated) and the women named the piglets and snuggled up with them and slept with them for like a week before they finally butchered the pigs. They butchered them only after they decided to elect a leader to make decisions. That was the biggest difference between the men and women. One man put his foot down and said how'd they do things the first day, they followed along but then at the end of the day they decided he was not going to be the leader and he was voted off the island. More men quit the challenge in the first weeks than the women, but the women stayed till they practically died almost. They were much more stubborn. There wasn't even a reward for the challenge. They just wanted to prove their lady ways would be enough and they could all be equals and prosper. When they finally elected a leader they got a fire going daily and was almost sustainable. The leader had to be the one to butcher the pigs and that was really hard on the women to deal with and there was one vegan girl in the bunch that couldnt condone it and she was nearly starved and her values were defeated. After seeing everything the lesson to learn is that actually women and men are both neccesary for a happy balanced and decent society. The things that make life worth living comes from women, even if they don't serve an absolute practical purpose like hunting and constructing or navigating.

I have decent survival skills. Pretty good building skills. As a kid, my dad and I would do stuff like this on the weekends. I'm more prepared for a zombie apocalypse now a days.

You need to watch the crocodile hunter because a top jaw rope is always the way to go. 👍 It has been a long time but when that show was the big show, he taught a whole generation about the top jaw rope. Plus he was a good dude.

I think the main concern you're not supposed to eat shark for is mercury content, 'cause the fish they tend to eat tend to be fairly laden with it.

Snake is actually crazy good. I’m sure they probably were eating any they found but if any of them are fishermen they are probably getting plenty of fish to last them while exploring. We saw them catching a crocodile or something in the opening bit of your video. That stuff there taste like chicken meat yum 😋

You know i watch some episodes of this, Women had it hard doe to stupid choices,constant pointless arguing and despiste that only one of them quit due to getting too sick, meanwhile they guys we're better off but like 3 people quit including their leader due to a dispute while building the camp that got out of hand, once they left tho it was smoth for the boys. It was really cool until the production started helping Women with free stuff like 2 pigs wandering into their camp.

I want to know the backgrounds of the 2 groups. It could make a huge difference. For example, was it country boys vs city women? If so, I want to see city boys vs. country women. I suspect that while it might not have been scripted, it might have been rigged a little in the men's favor to get the outcome they wanted. I was a city boy until I met my very southern rural wife. If we were put on an a island for a survival competition, I would be the one starving.

I think the show was called 'Survival: Man v Woman', I beleive it's a few years old at this point too, so dunno why TMK is only just getting to it. I never watched it as like you said the outcome was predictable, but looking at the footage I can't help but feel it was rigged to turn out that way too, it felt like the men where getting help from bear while the women where basically left alone, where was their survival expert? I do personally beleive the stereotype is wrong(and stereotypes in general), but in the sense that it's used as a general statment about all, the one everyone likes to throw around thesedays is something like 'women can't run a bussiness' which we know is complete bull many women already had and continue to do so, the problem started when the whole war on men thing started or whatever it was, and woman with no clue what they were doing got into those roles. Being a man or woman doesn't just magically give you knowledge of how to do something if you never learnt how to do it.
