All I can say is “wow”, I never knew about this ……what a wonderful wonderful charity……I have to admit I had a tear in my eye at points ……such genuine generosity from all concerned…..👍💪💖
I got caught up at blackwall , traffic at standstill, then in opposite direction emerging from the tunnel was your convoy , at that point my delays meant nothing . What a awesome sight watching you all drive past . Such a worthy cause. Thank you all
This is beautiful. I’m crying watching this, I’m 25 and have grown up with medical complications and had open heart surgery, I feel for these kids and families, it’s exhausting. Memories like this will last a lifetime. Thank you Tom
I was one of the kids that was chosen in 2004. It was amazing. Starting at Canary Wharf for breakfast and police escort all the way, such a surreal and amazing experience. Stayed at the Western themed hotel in Disneyland Paris. Amazing few days, I'll never forget it. We'll done for getting involved and donating money as well as your time!
I've always thought this an incredible feat of organization. For both families and drivers. And the joy it must have been for thousands of children can't be underestimated. Kudos to every driver
Everyone wins with this type of charity work. The drivers show their generosity and kindness, Parents get a memory to cherish but most of all the Children get to smile and experience happiness again. ❤

As a cab driver for the last 14 years in Upstate New York, I really wish we had the ability to do something similar. I really applaud your efforts, and wish you the best of luck in the future.
My son (he's 20 now so has done quite well) has profound disabilities and medical needs and I can only echo the fact that as a family we seldom managed to do anything as simple as time together. We went on to DLP and were only able to do it by sending two of the kids in the car with their grandparents whilst we caught up using the wheelchair spaces on the Eurostar. Just the logistics of carrying special liquid food, pump, oxygen and incontinence supplies made for a packed car before we even included the usual luggage. After that trip we never managed to go away again together and instead would always split the family instead and I know that my kids have missed out on so much that other families just see as normal because of their brother's medical problems. Thank you so much to all of the drivers and committee members for putting so much time and effort into giving these families time to just feel a little normal.
Wow, just wow. Like many other comments here, I never knew this existed and it’s simply unbelievable. To give this level of attention and organisation together with all the volunteers is outstanding and fantastic. There shouldn’t be poorly kids and they and their families go through hell in many cases. This is just a brilliant insight Tom, and credit to you for being a part of it.
Absolutely blown away by all of this, never knew this happened and hats off to all the people, companies and the charity who donate their time and services. WELL DONE to one and all, thanks Tom for filming and reporting.
Absolutely loved this video, As a Navigation Officer who used to work for P&O Ferries (Made 'redundant' with all my British seagoing colleagues in March 2022... less said about that the better) I used to love welcoming you guys onboard, it was always all hands down to the car deck to welcome you and the kids onboard for this special day. I hope this charity continues for a really really worth while cause! So great to see all the preparations that goes into it!
This is brilliant! Taking the mental load of keeping track of all the medical services and contacts off of the parents is so important. London Taxis are so awesome. Not just for this Disney tour, but the level of knowledge and that you're all wheelchair accessible. I'm picking up my first custom titanium wheelchair at the end of the month. Yet there's no way I'd travel in most cabs in Toronto, Canada - even though the back wheels come off with a quick release and the back folds down towards the seat. I can only travel in larger vehicles due to medical conditions and it's hit and miss on the condition of cabs here. (Like pieces of the inside are missing sometimes.) Can't wait to go to London at some point and take a London cab!
salutations, good job my dude, really proud of you and the taxi community! I hope this can spread worldwide, or at least Europe wide(?) all across Europe...I am sure the families and children will remember you (everyone involved) forever
I can full heartedly say, thank you! This video brings back so many happy memories from my experience of the Children’s Magical Taxi Tour, back in 2017. It was the best and most memorable experience of my life. A truly incredible experience and feat of organisation. The amount of taxis, police cars and motorcycles (both French and British police, AA vans and recovery trucks, police riot vans and ambulances all in convey. It is truly incredible. I also remember my taxi driver, I can’t exactly remember this name, but I believe it was somewhere along the lines of Kyle. Great to see this and bring back the memories. One of the best memories was all the taxis honking horns and ambulance sirens going off when leaving the ferry in France. Edit: it brought a tear to my eye watching it 😢
Editing this video, it was incredible to see all the magical moments that happened with the kids and families, I didn’t know about this event before hand but it’s such a beautiful thing and can’t wait for next years!
That right there is what I call actually doing something for for society you're actually donating your time unlike the Royal family you're actually doing something from America you're doing a wonderful job for you people
Huge respect to anyone who volunteers their time/help for anything like this. Amazing work from all involved just to give those kids and their families a weekend away from the Hospital
OMG! We saw the really long convoy on the highway on our way to Disneyland that morning and I'd been looking up what it was because it looked very different. I thought it was some VIP or Diplomat transport, but this is so nice! ❤
Thank you so much for this video. I had no idea this was a thing and its amazing! The level of care and forward thinking from the Cabbies and charity involved is really impressive. Thanks for all your efforts Tom. You provided an unforgettable experience to a family I'm sure they needed it!
In Manchester we used to do a similar thing every year to Blackpool (not quite the same) but unless someone in Manchester can tell me otherwise I’m pretty sure the council put a stop to it for some reason😞 Well done to all those people that make these trips to Paris possible 👏👏👏
Mate, this is amazing. Can't believe more people haven't pressed that 'like' button. Watched all the ads in full, hope you get plenty of money to donate to an incredible cause. Well played for taking part and giving a platform for something positive.
As others have already said I never knew about this charity. An amazing effort by all who took part as logistically it looks like it ran pretty smooth and I have to say its probably one of your best videos Tom. Keep up the great content fella 👍🏻
Tom, thank you so much for sharing this. It is a really heartwarming story and everyone involved deserves so much praise. All the taxi drivers, the organising committee, sponsors, police and medics both sides of the channel as well as those who donated food etc. It is such a shame the mainstream media could not highlight this outstanding work of all concerned , it would brighten up people’s days and highlight a superb charity. So once again, thanks for highlighting it, and well done to all involved 👏👏
Funny, I'm watching this video today, check out the website in the description and see the trip for this year is tomorrow. So good luck, drive safe and have fun with the disney trip.
Fantastic video Tom & so rewarding. What an amazing thing for the families & what a huge amount of organising that goes into it. I remember watching the black cab drivers taking children from London to Clacton for the day. We used to watch them on the bridges over the A12
Thanks for making this video Tom, just want to say you've inspired my wife and I to start supporting this charity event! Can't beat helping sick children, no child deserves to spend their childhood in hospital.
That’s great charity work. You guys should reconsider your partnership with P&O ferries though, remember they sacked 800 staff illegally barely 7 months ago.
I did once when I was young as I joined a family member who was a taxi driver. Except we didn't go to Disneyland, just some place in England where we had a nice park party and bbq.
Just watching this video for the first time tom and slight disservice done there "there's a brass band playing"...not like it's the royal marines or nothing tom lol great video such a great charity
Wow 😮 I had no idea this was a thing. Honestly blown away by the amount of effort and money put in by all the volunteers involved for every aspect of the trip. Respect to you and all hardworking cab drivers in London.
