We Explore Livorno | Italy Travel Vlog 

I'm going to Livorno on Saturday! We opted to base ourselves there for a couple of reasons: first, it is less crazy than some of the bigger cities, yet it's still big enough for it to be a central hub from which you can take a train or a bus to just about anywhere. In addition to a few days just wandering around the city, we plan to go to Cinque Terre, Volterra, San Gimignano, Siena, Lucca, and Piombino, and then one day in Florence before we fly home. Another benefit is because it's not as popular as some of the more touristy cities, it is less expensive to stay there. We have rented part of a villa for a very reasonable price.

Never heard of Livorno but good to know it's cheaper and easily accessible to popular cities! That fort is very cool looking. Adding it to my list of places to see. Haha sorry the birds were dive bombing you, that would scare me too haha. - Candice, Andrew & Riley 🐾
