I traveled to Salvador in April and I also think that the sunset is simply incredible! I agree that watching the sun set over the island of Itaparica is simply beautiful. It's one of the few places on the east coast of Brazil where you can see the sun hide over land, which makes it unique.
Oh wowww you must visit someday, it is one of the most unique and lovely cities we’ve ever seen 💓 thank you for watching, we are happy to have the support of Brazilian viewers 🥰
you never use "generic" latin music for your Brazilian videos. Didn't go unnoticed by me and it's much appreciated. cheers for whoever thought it out. Edit: Just to clarify what I meant by "generic" was that some people just look up "latin music" or something like that when looking for background music for any given Latin America country video instead of being more specific. I didn't mean that Brazilian music is better than any other countries or that Latin Music is "generic" in a derogatory way. ✌
We work really hard on the music selection, it sometimes is the part that takes the longest for us haha, so it really means the world that you notice it ❤️ thank you! Brazilian music is some of the most beautiful in the world, we are happy to have any excuse to use more of it in our videos!
Brazil loves you too, guys! Thank you for visiting our country and showing the rest of the world how unique and incredible Brazil is. We’re very happy 😆 Thanks! ❤❤❤
I love Salvador so much and your video did it justice as the wonderful city it is! As a northeastern Brazilian, I can say the respect you have for our culture is really appreciated ❤ You should come to my state, Rio Grande do Norte, the capital city Natal is a delightful place and it has amazing beaches such as Pipa and São Miguel do Gostoso. I wish you have a great time in Rio!!!
Salvador looks like such a great city! Juan, it looks like you were in your happy place, surrounded by so many foods that reminded you of your culture and childhood! ❤ Truthfully, as an American, I wish some parts of our country would realize that it is not a travesty to embrace one’s history( both good and bad). We can only grow from it. I certainly respect Brazil and other countries that do this, because if you know where you came from, only then can you know where you are going.
Love this comment.. as Americans, we completely agree. Too many want to cover up the past and act as if America has never done anything wrong. If we don’t learn from history, we are doomed to repeat it! And yes haha I was very very happy in Salvador, it truly felt like a second home! ❤️
Brazil has completely blown us away in every way - it is easily one of the top 5 countries that we’ve been to in our opinions 😍 and thank you so much, lots of love to you too from us (we are currently looking into getting our visa to live in France longer term, fingers crossed!)
@@juanmarcelandrhylanit looks like different countries in one, right? 😂 the difference between the regions are huge, so are the differences between the states! ❤
Fun fact about Salvador sunset: that right there is one of a few spots in Brazil where the sun sets over the sea. Because salvador is on a peninsula, it projects itself to the south and that point you're looking at, after that island (Itaparica) there is land. I live right there, my home is near that big white building before you guys, besides the Navy Club (blue wall). I see that sunset everyday and I just can't get used to that. I feel I'm blessed. Good to see you guys loved it, Salvador is a gem. Much love and hope you guys come back soon
Go for south of Brazil, Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina etc..., to see other type of cuture and peoples, Brazilian peoples is amazing, the mix of people arround the country is so cool 🇧🇷
Actually the first food you ate is not actually a Salvador typical dish, Baião de 2 is actually from countryside Northeast, a dry area called Sertão (Very pronounced in other states such as Ceará, Paraíba, Rio Grande do Norte, Piauí and others) which have totally different culture, people, vegetation and food of coastal cities like Salvador which has other typical plates such as moqueca and acarajé.
My city!! I'm so glad you guys enjoyed it! It's been great seeing my country through your eyes, thank you for showing so many beautiful things about Brazil to the world
I am living in Salvador after one year leaving in Kenya. This is a really piece of Africa in my nation. Hope to meet you soon guys, enjoy your time in this so precious city!
Hey Guys! What an incredible video today! Don't forget to try Acarajé, from the Baianas! Enjoy your stay in Salvador. You both are so open minded and generous people. It's absolutely amazing the way you respect the cultural aspects of the country and appreciate and embrace its people, the gastronomy, the variety of races and the history! Congratulations for having such beautiful souls and sensitivity! I'm looking forward to watching more of your journey here in Brazil!
Love to visit the words with you guys….we have the same interests…..local history, architecture, museum…and the food……going to Nice in 1 week…and i choice this place because of your vlogs….thanks again and enjoy life and never giving up on love….❤
This comment made us so happy 🥰 we hope that you have an absolutely amazing time in Nice (one of our favorite trips ever!!) ❤️❤️ thanks for the support!
Hi guys, I hope you are doing great❤️ I loved this this vlog so much!! Salvador looks so beautiful, especially the beach area and the food looks amazing. I like the fact that I learn from you the history of the places that you visit. Even though the history of Salvador is very sad, it must be know and it’s great that you shared it!! Also the sunset was breathtaking and I love the fact that people everywhere gather up to admire it🥹❤️❤️ Sending you lots of love🥰
Hi guys. You must go to Morro de São Paulo Island, nearby Salvador (2 hours by boat). It's paradise on earth ❤ There is a place there called "toca do morcego" where the sunset is incredible. Enjoy ⛅
Thank you so much for the suggestion , we will have to keep this in mind for our next trip 🥺 sadly we have already left Salvador 😭 but we will be back asap! ❤️❤️
You cannot leave Brazil without trying churrasco (BBQ) first. It's a staple of Brazil just as your beloved caipirinha... Sure, one could argue that there are Brazilian BBQ all around the world and you could go anywhere, but, wouldn't you rather try sushi in Japan? The same answer goes for churrasco, wouldn't you rather try it in the country of origin?
Please stay in Brazil we like you two so much, stay and come everything that our culture provides, and travel through all states there will always be something new and totally different from other things in the world and from Brazil itself, because here is such a large country that there is a lot of difference between culture and one state for another, Brazil loves you.
Sooo much more we want to explore of beautiful Brazil.. we promise we will be back for more! But still have more planned on this trip here 😍 we love Brazil!!
I didn't know your channel and you guys are amazing! You portrayed my city in the best way, really hope that you've eaten Acarajé! ❤ Barra's beach is my favorite spot in the whole city and the sunset there gets me so emotional! Life has been so busy that I haven't been to the beach as much as I would like, especially Barra ❤
We are already wishing that we planned to be here longer.. we had no idea how much we would both fall in love with this incredible country 😍 but we promise, we are already planning another trip back to Brazil for asap after we leave!
Salvador has not just big influence of african people, but how you guys saw, in the archtecture, and sacred art, it has big european influences from Portugal, because this city was the capital of Brazil for a long time. It has the best of both worlds.
It seems to me that Rhylan has some physical similarity to a brazilian actres (also a former model) called Camila Queiroz. Camila is a brunette girl, but, on video, both of you resemble each other somehow. Perhaps the smile!
We are trying to plan a trip to Gramado if possible with the time we have here, but if not on this trip - definitely next time! We hadn't heard of it until we were already in Brazil 😭 otherwise we would have planned for it
Salvador, minha cidade querida! Pelo que vi no vídeo vocês amaram. Onde vocês estão hospedados chama-se Pelourinho. Atualmente moro no Rio de Janeiro, no bairro Flamengo. Um abraço! 💗💗
Brazil is so beautiful, if you can, don't forget to visit the Northeast (Bahia is also part of it haha) But the "Lençois Maranhenses" are a surreal thing, "Natal" is also very beautiful ❤ Enjoy
hello i suggest the best city in all brazil the safest the cleanest also the best capital thats curitiba southern brazil look at videos and you will see you will come back here and thank me all you have to do is look at videos and you will get convinced trust me just to note if you go bring sweaters curitiba we just got out of winter in the south of brazil is cold temperate but its getting warmer ✌😊
Salvador has not the most people of african descent outside Africa. Salvador has most african descent in BRAZIL. Countries with Most descent african in general outside Africa as a whole country are... Haiti..... Jamaica... Dominican Republic... But Brazil and USA has the most people of african descent and european descent in numbers... because both are very populated.
@@juanmarcelandrhylan I forgot to mention that nowadays Rio de Janeiro has the most african descent in Brazil following by Salvador these two cities were where most slaves arrived in Brazil.
I am soteropolitano ( meaning :I was born in Salvador,Bahia) and I wanna say that you did a very job not focusing in the negative side of each place you go.I love you for that, but Salvador is much more than the old town.Salvador has a modern part of the city and you should had explore that side of town as well to give a full view .Another thing is about the beaches .You should have explore the beaches in the north side of the city. the vibe is totally different ,the water is clear ,white sands .
Ah! I'm so happy to see u here! Hope u come back soon.
14:22 I love the sundown in Farol da Barra. Just be aware that many men go there to smoke weed 😅 maybe this is something to consider before laying down there. I still like the amazing view tho
11:57 Two totally different dishes, Fufu is pounded cassava(sometimes with other ingredients) cooked on stove… If anyone has influenced anyone it was the indigenous Brazilians and whoever took cassava originally from Brazil to Africa! This is called “Pirão” made with toasted cassava flour, rehydrated with flavoured stock and cooked different...
It's so good to see tourists so enchanted with Brazil. I live in the most beautiful country in the world, with the best climate and the kindest people! It's a shame that the majority of the population doesn't have access to their own country, we live with low wages, a devalued currency, and what we earn ends up basically being for survival. Still, we can't wipe the smile off our faces. The state of Bahia, in fact, is suffering greatly from war between factions, a lack of security and several municipalities handed over to criminals. A real civil war. A great video, I'm extremely happy to see people coming from so far away to admire our beauty.
We have to agree, Brazil is arguably the most beautiful country that we have ever visited, with the most incredible people.. we are so sad to hear about these situations, we wish nothing but the best for beautiful Brazil ❤️
You went to the northeast of Brazil without passing through Minas Gerais, one of the best states and with the best cuisine (a fact that every Brazilian recognizes)! I see your profile very close to the people from Minas! In Belo Horizonte you would love to walk around the Savassi neighborhood, great thrift stores, the Central Market and visit, near Lagoa da Pampulha, the Xapuri restaurant, one of the best restaurants in Brazil, the best for Minas Gerais food. Come and discover the capital of Minas Gerais, Belo Horizonte, and the historic cities. Coming to Brazil and not knowing the city of Ouro Preto is almost like not coming to Brazil!
The "fufu" like food is more indigenous than african, one thing you should notice about brazil is that it has influences but we change everything to our taste so... It will never be the same as in other parts of the world.
uow! that´s such a beautiful video! If I knew u were here in Salvador I would be your guide! hahahaha. Please, come back to Bahia, there are a lot of places u guys would love
@@juanmarcelandrhylan hello i suggest the best city in all brazil the safest the cleanest also the best capital thats curitiba southern brazil look at videos and you will see you will come back here and thank me all you have to do is look at videos and you will get convinced trust me just to note if you go bring sweaters curitiba we just got out of winter in the south of brazil is cold temperate but its getting warmer ✌😊
Brazilian people have descendants of all over the world, like have more Lebanese people than in Libano the same with italians in the country which has the most Japanese people outside of Japan it is Brazil too ! It's a mix of culture !
Brasil does hide from its history and has come up with this false notion of no racism. Brasil doesn't embrace all that live there. Look at the education system, corporate workforce, advertising, and police brutality, and the list is too long for this post. Enjoy your vacation, but there needs to be a reality check here.
Wow!!! Marvelous video as always! You two have very good taste for everything. I´m from Salvador and if you need any help, let me know. The state has a lot of nice beach towns and villages like Praia do Forte, Imbassaí, Massarandupió, Mangue Seco, Sítio do Conde, Morro de São Paulo, Boipeba, Itacaré, Trancoso, Caraívas... ... Welcome to Bahia!
14:15Two beautiful and incredible sunsets in Rio de Janeiro: 1. Pedra do Arpoador (people applaud the disappearing sun) 2. Sugarloaf Mountain (seeing the sun setting behind the mountain from this place at the entrance to Guanabara Bay is an unforgettable experience)
