We find a small local off road trail to sketch a sunrise / ASMR offroad Mitsubishi Montero , Pajero

My daughter has been into realism art and has been wanting to try to draw a sunrise with trees on the horizon. So we take a trip to an undeveloped area behind some resorts that can only be accessed through some back trails with sugar sand, hills and grassy terrain.
This spot is quaint and a little bit away from the city, so it was a perfect spot for my daughter to sketch.
Enjoy the simple sounds of nature and sunrise in this video. Watch till the end of my daughter's finished drawing and some of her other artwork too.
We also got a special surprise while going through this trail.

Do you have a aftermarket exhaust system? It sounds really good.

It's an original stock exhaust. It does have a little grumble....but I haven't done anything to the exhaust.

Hey man I'm curious what the steering ratio is like on your year Monty. I know they have a steering box instead of rack and pinion but I'm curious if it feels very slow and truck like or more like a 3rd gen T4R or Nissan Pathfinder. Does the ratio feel relatively nimble or do you feel like you're constantly rotating the wheel?

My Montero steering has been on point since I got it. It's not super responsive like an Evo, it feels like most 90s vehicles.. slightly vague but still responsive. I know other Monteros owner have experienced slack or delay in their steering and they have either tried to adjust the steering box or just get it rebuilt. When I replaced my tie rods, ball joints, idler arm and pitman arm...my steering did noticably improve a couple years ago. So if you're experiencing some slack or slop..that's a good place to start.

@@itsaboutfam I’m not too worried about play or slack because I can just replace the worn out components. It’s more the factory design or steering ratio. Does it feel a little sporty; I always found the 3rd gen Toyota 4Runners and 2nd Gen Pathfinders to drive pretty sporty around turns and backroads. Quick steering without needing to rotate the wheel too much on slow 90 degree turns; does the Montero reflect that sort of feel? I actually remember hearing that I think John Davis the presenter of Motor Week said years later that the best driving SUV he ever presented was the 3rd gen 4Runner. I should say I don’t have a Montero yet and have not driven one yet so I have no experience in the feel.

@@on1ytheb3st Your interpretation of sporty may be different from mine. I am comparing it to an Evo which is extremely sharp and responsive. I feel it's responsive and I don't feel I have to turn the wheel too much to get it to turn. I will do a YT short probably tomorrow so you can see. You aren't the only one that has asked this question to me.

@@itsaboutfam Dude thank you for even taking the time to respond I appreciate that. Yeah I’m not expecting it to drive like an EVO haha but as far as SUVs go I’m just wondering if it’s less truck like and more fun on backroads as a DD is all. Thanks again; looking forward to the short!
