The October 2022 movie having the art style of Guess Who, while the leaks looking pretty much identical to previous lot of movies they've been making for almost a decade, really points to that movie being intended to come out before they make the style changeover.

That's not necessarily true. This is a crossover movie so they would have to fit the scooby characters with the artstyle of legion of superheroes

Seems like the Legion are just a cameo in there, so it makes a lot of sense to reuse the designs from that show as opposed to doing new designs for a big group of characters just for a quick scene.

Maxwell Atoms talked on Podcast named Scooby that he started on Happy Halloween Scooby Doo in march 2020, and released it autumn 2021. That's like a year and a half turnaround.

I mean... I'm going to assume this is Super Old and all this news is out there now, but apparently the Legion of Heroes stuff seems to be because they use the Flash's time travelling treadmill to get there, otherwise the second image is just how they currently draw the DC animated universe, and is filled with all the classic villains. So whatever the case with that movie, it seems to be a time traveling one.

I'm a HUUUUGE Scoob fan, and I especially appreciate how much each Scoob video allows me to reconnect with so many good childhood memories. In the Legion of Superheroes image, Shaggy and Scooby are on Flash's Cosmic Treadmill. So, maybe they were running from Solomon Grundy so fast that it flung them 1000 years forward in time. That scene might just be an easter egg/ LoSH cameo since the other image looks like Superfriends' Legion of Doom with Zod and crew thrown in.

I was listening to your podcast on nebula where you mentioned potentially doing an episode on the rebranded Scooby Doo rides, and it would be really cool if you did that episode and maybe collaborated with El Toro Ryan to have him comment on the track layout for you, or something! He does really great deep dives into roller coasters, so it might be neat if you reached out to him and got something going together, between your Scooby knowledge and his track knowledge. Either that or Defunctland, who does incredible documentaries too, both would be neat.

the Scoob crossover I want more than any thing is Scooby-Doo Meets Lupin The Third. Both classic animated franchise from the late 60s that are somehow STILL around and kicking, have been sustained by steady series of non theatrical films and have featured essentially the same core cast and formula since their inceptions. They're even both about crime...sort of!

I would love to see a Scooby Doo Aniamted Movie with Mystery Inc teaming up with the Justice League's Wonder Woman, Superman, Batman, Martain Manhunter Manhunter, The Flash, Green Lantern Jessica Cruz, Supergirl, Batgirl, Black Canary, and also Green to stop a Supervillain whose plans on turning the Justice League all back into babies again and ruling over the whole entire World!

This is not exactly unprecedented. There was a scooby doo crossover movie with the Batman Brave and the Bold series from 2008, that came out like a couple years ago. But that still made sense to me cause that show was all about team ups, and it was kinda a through back to silver age, like super friends era batman, that crossed over with scooby doo multiple times. You'd think scooby would crossover with the superpets cartoon that came out in the early 2000s. Def curious to see if this does eventually come out

This honestly reminds me of the start of the arrowverse. They were setting up suicide squad, and introducing those characters but then DC/WB decided they didn’t want them in the show since they were going to be making movies with those characters. Could be a similar situation with krypto, or maybe a Dwayne Johnson contract thing?

Wouldn't be a voice contract issue. They do the voices before they do the animation, so that'd already be in the can if they've already done the Scooby movie. Or, if they haven't even started it yet, they'd just recast the voice with someone like Jess Harnell, who can mimic just about anybody.

Had no idea you lived near Roanoke. Been here my whole life! Been waiting on news of this movie for like a year. It got leaked wayyyyy long ago before this most recent leak. I thought maybe it would come out in conjunction with DC SuperPets and Krypto on Bluray. But it certainly seems scrapped now, unfortunately. Great content as usual!

it's not lost, they are making it for next year, they probably intended to make it this year to be released with dc super pets but the bought out made it so they could only do one, and they probably had more of the trick or treat done or possibly the art style was different with krypto being the usual and trick or treat being in guess who simpler art.

I REALLY hope this becomes a thing, legion of superheroes is one of my all time favorite shows. I used to wale up early like every day (especially on saturdays because I believe that is when it aired) and watched THE CRAP out of it! I even had a little superman happy meal toy from mcdonald's. Saturn girl was my absolute fav tho So I believe that they chose legion of superheroes because recently we did get a very cute krpto movie. KRYPTO IS MAKING A COMEBACK!

I don’t think it was gonna be a full-on legion series crossover, from the image it looks like they’re a quick cameo as Scooby and Shaggy are running on the cosmic treadmill, like you can see that they’re getting chased by Solomon Grundy from the image on the right. I think they’re just running through a bunch of different eras on the treadmill

I think I can explain this. This was supposed to be synergy with the Ezra Miller Flash movie. That movie is a multiverse movie and the thing the whole DCEU was supposed to be built on. The Teen Titans Go Vs Teen Titans was a part of the synergy but the movie got pushed back so many times they just released it on time when the movie was originally going to premier. If you notice in the two screen shots one is the "legion" art style but the villains is in the Super Friends art style with Richard Donner style phantom zone villains. So I would assume this was going to be a time travel multiverse adventure going to alot of past DC animated shows. The Legion cartoon was very much modern retellings of silver age Superboy and the Legion stories....and Superboy is where most Krypto stories are from. In 21 the Flash movie got another push back and with all the mess that has been it's a coin toss if it'll even be released. I think the whole marketing plan is out and the release window just doesn't make sense anymore...which sucks because I loved that legion series and it deserves more fans.

Until you showed the DTV21 thing, I was assuming it was an old project that got cancelled, and they just never removed those images from the website. Because they've made a lot of scooby doo stuff over the years, wouldn't it make more sense that this was something they were making around 06/07/08 when the League of Superheroes cartoon would still be relevant?

It would make more sense in theory but the Scooby Doo and Batman: The Brave And The Bold crossover movie came out years after Brave and Bold ended and they did a crossover with Courage last year so... who knows?

I doubt it was complete. My guess is that it was scrapped mid-production, most likely due to the Super-Pets movie. It was probably scheduled for October 2021 and pushed to March 2022 after the push back from 2020. Since the movie was never announced, except as a vague upcoming Scoob and Krypto too! title, it was probably cut early to midway through primary animation. Of course, there is no way to be certain given that WB-Discovery is one of the worst run studios in existence, and they are barely holding on despite owning some of the greatest IP of the twentieth century.

Another Scooby movie falls into the pit of new lost media. 😞 While I'm fine with the art style of Guess Who and Trick or Treat, I really loved the art style of the 2010's DTV films. Some of these where just beautifully animated. I remember when the What's New era hit after Zombie Island era and I was like: "Oh, this is the look we have to deal with now? ... sigh ... ok." Designs will always change. Plots count.

...WB has a history of not allowing use of characters they already have plans to use elsewhere ...I wouldn't be surprised if Dwayne Johnson's DC Superpets caused an embargo with Krypto and this got back-burnered mid-project
