I’ve been watching your videos since 2020! I’m a huge fan of you, PaleoCris, WYLDKYLE, Dig Dive Discover, and DALLMYD along with many other fossils hunters like blackriverfossils! I wanna one day find fossils of my own like you guys do. I’m actually a person who bought a fossil hunting kit from your website a while ago. Also, one of the first people to comment.

Thank you! We really appreciate the support. There is still so much out there to discover and I hope you will be doing some of the discovering!

Hey, Based on your profile picture I imagine you being underage. I am underage too, I am 15 and I have been collecting for almost 4 years now. Just research the area which you live in, especially the layers. most locations have layers, some layers might be loaded with good fossils, whilst some may have none or next to none. Do hunt safely, don't do stupid things. Get the right equipment (if you are showing up in the gravely creek with a hammer or showing up with a sieve in a quarry with hard rock will make it very hard to find good stuff.) It takes some time to become good at it, although locations can differ very much. Perseverance is very important too. Searching on a fossil location is way cooler than buying those kits. With those kits you lose the "kick" of finding something. Do keep in mind that most kits are very fossiliferous. Greetings, Jasper

This is the reason I am always flipping through anything that looks remotely fossilized or bone like. I can't imagine finding something this great. Spending weekends looking for fossils in Central Florida is always a good time. Keep up the good work. Love watching your videos.

That's too bad about the no digging in banks...seems like that would be the best way to save fossils, to extract them in situ before they're eroded out scattered degraded etc

Can I ask what you do with all the things you find? Is there some paw you have to hand them into a museum if they are significant for the museum to have to study or for people to see? Or do you keep everything you find, and do you also sell them to collectors? I know this is very very different, here in the UK 🇬🇧 you cam go mud larking on the river Thames but you need a licence to be about to do so and there are lots of laws on what you cam do, there is eyes only, and then there is a trowel us. So if you find something and it has to be so old, I can't remember just how old the item has to be. But if it is so old it has to be handed into the London museum, they log everything that comes up from the Thames River and were. They will look into the item and have there top person look at it, and then they will give you all that information about that object, what it was and what the year how its made and so on. If they want it in their collection they will give you some money for it. It can take some time to get that item back, but you will get it back. And yes people come from outside the UK to do this, but they need to get that licence 1st or you will be up shit creek with out a paddle that's for sure and special when you go though customs. The number of things at the museum of London is unreal. By the way, if you're ever in London, it is free to get into the museum, and so many people do not know that, and it's an amazing place to visit that's for sure. They find everything in the Thames foreshore from Roman gold coins to human skulls to clay pipes dating back to the 1600s, and also the odd fossil and definitely lots of bones also. I just can't imagine what else is stuck under all the mud and so many various things and very valuable things as well that will never see the light of day.

It's amazing to think that an ocean was situated right through the whole length of the Americas about 200 million years ago and that if you were around then you could have sailed right through from south America to north America without seeing land on either side of you, and today you can find fossil shark teeth, especially Megalodon teeth, and sea shells etc.
