On the last day of our trip, we decided to hit up this lake. We had never been to it before nor did we know much about it. I was told it had spotted bass so it sounded like fun!
15 to 18lbs is a good bag of spots on Smith lake. I caught a 6lb 2oz spot in December 1993 on Smith. A couple of 6lbers are caught each year on Smith. This lake held some world record spots and they took our spots and stocked them in California and now they hold the world record.
Honestly, they weren’t relating to any structure. They were relating to shad on the surface over 30-80 feet of water. We were in the NE arm of the lake.
Honestly don’t know names of any parts of the lake. But we launched way up on the NE end then drove towards the main lake to where it T’d. From there, we turned towards the main lake. This was maybe a mile from that T.
