That home was so clean!! Sad that it was destroyed!! So many valuable things in there...i.e. cabinets, flooring, W & D, mirrors...so many things to repurpose!! 🤥😥
This was such a cool home and a cool period for homes. Too bad there will be so few if any left. I could totally see minor updates and restoration while maintaining the mid century vibe. Those stairs really near. Love the windows and the ares with the cool wood ceilings. It would have been neat to live there. Why bother building all that crawl space and not just have made it all basement?!?! Like the porch with the grill and it would probably have been warm in winter with sun reflecting off the snow. Thanks for sharing another cool one. I vaguely remember seeing the stairs and wooden ceiling before. Take care, be well and always stay safe!
Love your content and your passion and love for architecture and interior design. Out of all the urban ex I watch you are the most respectful. I've literally been binge watching all the episodes you've done. Sad to see so many beautiful times pieces be torn down. I'd rather see them completely renovated and restored to their former glory rather than to be replaced with something with no history or character. I'm in Louisiana and would love to do some urban ex around here
Sad knowing that this is gone as I watch it. Yes, there's a teeny tiny bit of mercury in old school thermometers and thermostats. Also sad that they didn't salvage the appliances. That stove is nicer than what I have and lots of people would like that washer/dryer.
Thanks again for another great find before it’s gone! At some point this world will be all cookie cutter and the historic places will be gone. So sad. Stay safe!
How Awesome it was to have a light! Most of your videos are done in darkness, so this was a pleasure to watch. As usual…another great house being torn down. Thank you for sharing this!
Ethan, the only thing I’m very surprised about is the bedrooms are very small. It is very plain and not do to it being painted white, but sometimes some home owners to sell their homes will paint everything white so that the new home owner who buys it could choose the colors that they want to put into the home, at least that’s for the most part what I have observed, and in my opinion, but it’s just such a waste. I hope somebody can use a good washer and dryer and refrigerator and all of that but if not, oh well thank you for sharing. Take care and be safe.🫶🏻❤️🤠
I can’t believe that this house go get knock down by tomorrow in this house don’t even look that bad but it’s not a surprise because they knock every abandoned house down they see
My parents house was built in 1950. Just a couple years ago the house was gutted and modernized. Im so glad its still there. Its so sad to see these old homes destroyed.
MCMs are so awesome!!✨ I think my favorite part is the sun porch with wall of windows, and the built in barbecue !🤩 It is sad to lose another piece of this history!😔 Cool explore!🤟✌️
What a waste. Always makes me mad that they didn’t bother to salvage any appliances. Mattress in the basement looked new. I wishthese people who tear down these homes and waste things would give a little bit more and consume a little less.
"Now that we've been in the sun room for what feels like 7 hours..." 😂 No problem Ethan, I'd gladly fix that room up and spend lots of time there! The house had some nice features, grim that it's now (most certainly) demolished.
Ethan bo Bethan banana fanna for Fethan fe fi fo Methan, ETHAN! This place had a few different eras going on with it. Pretty cool place though. That wood ceiling was cray! Thanks for documenting it!
I like the wood in the doors and cabinets in the kitchen. I wonder if they remove them and save them. It seems to be kinda of a cold modern design, for that time. The porch and plant area are very nice, tho. Thank you for a trip back to my fave time! We had a new 1953 home , completes with wild wallpapersflowers, birds, and mine was ballerinas.😅❤
The back view makes it look like a doctor/dentist office type building. Are they not going to salvage anything? Love that old hutch in the sun room, and there's other good reusable stuff in there.
Very strange place. Those weird rooms and one with a lock on the outside.and the creepy room gave off strange vibes. Maybe good thing this placed is being demolished?! Thank you for showing this one.
Even though ones they "throw up" look much more solid, we know that the walls are weaker than cardboard most of the time and everything is for facade's sakes. I loved the midcentury moderns as a little kid. My aunt and uncle had one in Fort Lauderdale's New River neighborhood before it went the way of most neighborhoods in Southeast Florida as they tend to do.
It was a very nice house and even the updates to it were done well. As far as the numbers on the bedroom doors, if they had a moving company pack up for them they might have numbered the bedrooms for the boxes because cardboard boxes all look the same and they wouldn’t know Susie’s bedroom from Debbie’s.
Sweet house, looks a lot bigger inside.i wonder if that ceiling detail makes the foyer area feel tight.hope they take out the cool cabinet and table in the first room out before taking the house down
I honestly can't rap my head around how wasteful we humans are! it literally almost makes me ill. On a brighter not I'm loving all your videos Ethan I'm doing a mini marathon as you can tell. Just catching up all the ones I've missed.
Hey Ethan..its immaculate...got some beautiful fearures in this one...floors ,ceiling ,love the big windows..sad its going ...stay safe well warm and happy 💋
I don't remember seeing this one at all (maybe i didn't). What a shame about the cherry(?) tree, it was so pretty all in bloom. ☹That light shining on the sunroom floor highlighted the darker brown part on them, which made them look sort of like 3D cubes; it was a nice little area. As a tea fan, i'm annoyed they left that (plus the cannisters & box were really nice)! The wood & metal staircase railing was cool, and i've actually seen something like the wood on the ceiling somewhere recently on Instagram--it was a new product, they used it as a feature wall, so you can still buy at least something like it. That interaction with you and Carlo was funny! 😄Reminds me of when you two used to explore together a long time ago.😊 Now i'll forever wonder if that whole house was red brick or if some matched the brick that was inside the living rm fireplace area. (I'd like to think it was a nice combination of the two, and they looked way better than that white paint that took away all its' character.) The vanity & makeup table in the master were awesome. You asked if there was anything back there in the crawl space. Answer: Spiders.😄 Anyway, thank you for documenting it so at least the home lives on in some way. Take care, and stay safe.
I wish you would not close the curtains, why did you do that ? we can't see the cool window design, and get a feel for the rooms with the huge awesome windows which were such a fabulous feature from that era. I would do anything to own a house like this, it is such a tragedy that these places continue to be allowed to be torn down, and not preserved as historical. It's infuriating to see such destruction. I grew up in Richmond Hill in a super cool area, large cool mid century bungalows. Its heartbreaking to see they are all gone now, and replaced with horrid, tacky mega mansions that are dated in a few years 😢
@ethanminnie HI. I wasn't subscribed, but I am now. 😊 For some reason, when I was watching before, the subscribe wasn't even showing up... it was totally blacked out. I just went back to one I had watched, it was there. Now I can watch all your videos 😁😁 thank you for your videos. I love watching them 😊🙂😊
