Hey guys. Superb video; what a stunning building. Just need to clear a little confusion.....the subject of this video - Kingswood Lodge - was built as a residence by William Smith in 1803. It had various owners over the centuries. The building you're confusing it with is the Founders Building of Royal Holloway University, less than 10 minutes walk away, which was indeed built as an all-women college by Thomas Holloway in 1879, at the suggestion of his wife, Jane. The University acquired the Lodge & grounds, renamed it Kingswood Hall & it's used as student accommodation, social hub & learning facilities. According to the website, it's currently closed for renovation.
The tiles in the hallway are earthenware tiles made in the 19th century by William De Morgan he was inspired by Middle Eastern ceramics very collectible and valuable
Very fun explore! So glad most of the lights were on. The three of you are so entertaining! Glad Ray could join. Thank goodness for no security as it made for a more relaxed explore. The original building was beautiful! Loved the wood & iron staircase. Nice tile at the outside entrance & the interior entry. Seems like these buildings could still serve a purpose as so much is still in tact. Would definitely redo a few of those bathrooms! Thank you so much for exploring for us. Stay safe!
how many people would be happy if they could study here, but I don't understand, London is one of the biggest cultural centers, I hope someone will manage it soon!✋
I noticed Ed's exploring stance on the way out in the last vid. It's a thing of beauty lol. 😆. I thought it might be his, "Clearly we're just passing through...my hands are behind my back walk". Overhead plane shot...nice. 👍
You guys are absolutely amazing found you on you tube a year ago and I'm hooked. Keep up the good work guys and I will spread the news about you to everyone I know and get them subscribe

Ed, Ned, and Ray accompanying you this lovely place was just what you needed Alex. All of you a little bit potty helps to bring us a great video. Always cheeky, full of Humour Eddie never fail to bring us all to fits of the giggles. Ned too trying to open the hatch and Ray sounding more like Hammy every week (in a cute sort of way) always give us a cheery grin. This was a fun explore. Thank you. The views from the roof were Spectacular. Good on you 4. Love you guys NANNY! 🤗❤️👍🏻😁
@@maz121able Awww. Ty Jane. Yessss. Takes more than a tumble to hold me down. It, happened Saturday/sunday morning in an airB&B. Big family reunion with sibling. Haven’t seen for years. Too much good red wine (not a drinker) and uneven steps on stairs and over I went. Blood everywhere! But the best night I think any of my family thought possible! I thought I would run out of blood because it wouldn’t stop. But tuff old Nanny will live to fight another day lol. I can always see the amusing side of a situation. Thank goodness. Just after I fell my 73 yr old brother went over the same un level stairs. We had a great night loolololol. He is fine too. Can’t take us oldies anywhere. He is now on his way back to Australia with his Grandson. lol. I can focus now. Lol
Oh Maz. I had you confused with MadHead Jane. lol. Ohhhhh boy! So sorry. Concussion is so comical! Not!! Basically I fell down stairs at a family reunion. Right at the end of the most amazingly wonderful day and evening. Seeing siblings I hadn’t seen for ever. Very large family we all ended up pretty much estranged! But are now closer than possibly imagined. All turned out wonderfully apart from spilling my brains all over the stairs. Never mind. I still have a little bit left. Enough to function. Just! So sorry. In my head, you were littlemissmadhead (Jane). But you are dear Maz!! See. Concussion is sorting itself out. Bless you!
Awesome place just going to waste. The view from the roof was amazing!! Was there any security there? .If so glad you avoided them.. Nearly at the 100k mark.. Suscribe people as Eddy would say.. 😂
Kingswood closed for 'refurbishment' less than a year before this was uploaded. I took a wander around there in winter of 2022 when the students were away for winter break and had a meal in the dining hall. It didn't look much better back then unfortunately, even when still operational. When Royal Holloway acquired it, is was used as accommodation for the newly admitted male students, then became co-ed. It's a shame it's been allowed to fall into such disrepair. It could be such a special place if it were refurbished and looked after properly - especially that tennis court! I hope Royal Holloway can bring it back to its former glory. Looks like those renovations are going well, lol...
Hi Nanny! Cheers as always, I'm sorry to hear about your accident. Hope you're feeling better. You have to rest up with an injury like that. Take care and all the best 😁👍👍👍
