We finally found bison!! 🦬 🙌 😻
After a few unsuccessful attempts and some amazing followers reaching out and inviting us to their place the bison search finally came to an end 🥰. Definitely worth the wait, absolutely incredible animals and I'm so chuffed I got to see them out in the wild 🦬❤️.

We’re Dean & Nala, and we’ve been best friends since December 2018. I was cycling around the world when I heard Nala meowing out for me somewhere in the Bosnian mountains. With no intentions of keeping Nala, I knew i had to save the wee kitten and take her to the vet - but I was well aware of the fact that it might be a bit of a challenge considering I only had a bike. However, despite my concerns, Nala quickly climbed out of the front bag on the bike handle and straight onto my shoulder. Since then, we’ve been travelling the world together. We Americans almost wiped out out our Bison! But we stopped and they came back! So I am very glad you and Nala got to see your European bison at last! Happy travels Dean and Nala!

On our trip to the US we visited Custer State park and Yellowstone. It was so amazing to see massive herds of these majestic animals, especially in Custer state park because there are not as many tourists as in Yellowstone.

The U.S govt tried to kill the bison in order to starve Native American tribes into submission despite the treaties they made with various tribes and did not honor and also to remove the enormous herds in order to stop them from blocking railroads that were being built

@@annettemalaski1967 it is really sad that our founding fathers didn’t look to the way that the native people that already had an infinity with the natural environment and learn from them. Mass slaughter is never a term that should be used….Ever! One small break in the ecological chain and watch the consequences. One of the best docos I have seen on RU-vid is about the reintegration of a wolf pack into Yellowstone Park and the crazy positive effects that it has had on the environment there. Things that you never thought of that has happened to the waterways and the vegetation. Also, great year to be born, 1967!

Well, European Bison was also almost completely wiped out of existence. The current population (that lives in National Park on Polish-Belorussian border) was reconstructed using last few specimens living in captivity. European Bison was literally brought back from the edge of extinction.

What a neat looking animal.T😢heir faces are very different from American bison. Neat. Had a grey 5 mo old tabby dropped in my drive (have a large apt complex nearby). People move and discard their animals occasionally. I have 25 outdoor kitties, all homegrown. He is a gentle sweetie and gets along, but he much prefers to be indoor. Carries his tail up leaning forward toward his ears. None of mine do that. I am calling him "Little Man". Love watching your and Nala's adventures. From Missouri, USA.

We have a tuxedo male who has a tail like that. It reminds me of a banana lol. He's a vocal kitty. He wanders around the house yodelling. He doesn't actually want anything, he just likes the sound of his own voice.

First, what beautiful country Poland seems to be! I've recently seen it featured in your videos, as well as on Eva zu Beck's channel. Beautiful! It must have been 30 years ago now, but my husband & I happened upon an American Bison while on the way home from motorcycle camping. I think we were in Maryland, of all places! She wasn't wild (& certainly not free), as she was in a small, fenced-in corral that was not even 20 yards off the side of the backroad on which we were riding. She was absolutely *HUGE!* We know that she was "she" because, as luck would have it, we happened upon her not very long after she had given birth (her calf was mostly dry, but the afterbirth was still pretty fresh, & it had yet to drop). She was completely unattended. There wasn't a human, barn, building, or vehicle to be seen. I recall thinking how odd, how utterly _random,_ that it was to come upon such an immense creature, & at such a moment, & in such a place! We kept our distance, & only stayed for a few minutes as we didn't want to spook her or intrude any more than we already had. I'll never forget her, tho. It was quite the experience!

When I think of all the work, all the efforts, all the time, all the expense that went into putting Nessie together, all the time spent sheltered there, all the experiences lived there, what a hub for giving and helping it became, and then the little time, comparatively speaking, it took to destroy this temple of positivity and kindness, it makes me sick in my stomach.

Woohoo! I've been waiting for you to finally see them. Reminds me of one time when my sister and her husband were in Yellowstone National Park. The wanted to see a buffalo. They finally saw some about a mile off in a field. So, they hiked out there and took photos. They hiked back to their car and drove a very short distance ahead and the road was covered with 100's of bison.

Loved seeing the Bison! American Bison males are built with a bit more of a shoulder “cape” and “hat” on them but the European Bison look taller and more athletic somehow…..so amazing to finally see them! Staying in Nessie is a good idea because you don’t look like a human so they’re not as shy. Beautiful creatures. And such a beautiful family….the dinner looked amazing!!! ❤

So chuffed that you Finally (Yippee!) got see bison. 🙂 I liken your experience to the first time I saw orca wild in the Salish sea, not in an enclosed tiny play pool in San Diego. I follow our Southern Resident Orcas (endangered) so seeing even a few of them or the Transients (Bigg's) orcas is such a tremendous rush. Once I saw three newborns orcas in one afternoon. Woo Hoo!! Since it almost Spring maybe you will be lucky enough to see some newborn calves. Fingers crossed for you!! (Stay safe - bison are not predictable, especially with "little" ones. Your friends put on quite the "spread" for you as my Swedish sheep raising grandpa would say. Good people!

That was a great video Dean and Nala. It was well worth the wait to see the bison, i remember this from your stories last year. Yet again you met some lovely and hospitable people. What a fantastic place to stay and dinner looked delicious. Now looking forward to seeing Lithuania hopefully soon.
