On today’s episode, we started day 20 of our corn harvesting with a visit from the Dos Amigos from Argentina (Franco Fabril), we fixed a broken gear box on the corn head, finished combining the blown over corn field at Uncle Orlyn's Farm, Dad found even more things falling off the bin site, I broke a chain in the new corn head gear box, and Dad & Cooper cleared a plug inside the distributor on the grain leg. The next day, we filled all our wet holding storage in record time and caught up to our grain dryer's capacity in 4 hours. While we were waiting for the dryer to empty our wet holding storage bins, we cleaned up the bin site, pulled the fence at Uncle Orlyn's Farm, and once we got that done, we were able to finish on the field West of DC's. 750 acres of corn down, 250 acres to go. Today was a really good day!

Daddy Corn Star. You and the whole team have every right to be mad. None of this should be happening. A trusted builder wouldn't want to wait for a court to decide what should be done. A outstanding company would be out there making everything right. I'm hoping everything is corrected asap.
@OldManBadly
@OldManBadly 7 месяцев назад
I agree with you. However, I also understand their problems. The remedial work will be expensive, just removing the hopper, destroying the concrete pad, and building a new one will be a big, expensive job. The problem being, if they built it as specified and it didn't work, then it may be more of an engineering problem and not a builder problem. While I am not privy to the details of the case, lets just say there are more than two parties involved and that is where it gets complex. We know it isn't right, but assigning blame (and cost) as a result is a big deal. Something like this could run one, the other, or both into chapter 11.

@@Junkinsally during the pandemic contractors like the ones that put up the bin site couldn't find good people to work, this is what happens when you scrape the bottom of the barrel. the cornstars went with a company that had been around building bin sites for many years and was known to be good in the past, but at the time they probably had mostly new workers because all the old ones had been laid off during the start of the pandemic. couple that with all the shortages during that time and it's a perfect storm for shoddy workmanship. I highly doubt it's just their bin site, it's probably any binsite they worked on during that time frame.

If any other Farmers have Grain Bins from this Company should call this Company to send out an Inspector to inspect their bins for these type of malfunctions in their product

Just a tip. Don't show the AGI address or phone number because people will call them and it will be harassment. Put it all in the law suit and let the law take care of it. Also get a safety harness for when you go up on the bins so you can hook on.

It has nothing to do with AGI systems 💁‍♂️ it’s the independent contractor who is at fault. So showing the name of equipment means nothing on the problems with the bin site.

The wrong thing to do is wait for the lawsuit to fix it. It's going to have to be fixed regardless and you are the ONE who sees the potential for one of your kids to get hurt and you will be the one who will blame himself for letting it happen. Hire a crew to come and fix it and then you will know what it cost to fix that part of it.

@@johnunsicker7440 They should have never been paid in the first place and I don't think they were but as soon as I knew there was a problem and a danger to my family I would have been up there fixing it myself if I had to. As it sits now if someone gets hurt it won't take much of a lawyer to make it look to jury like they weren't fixing it to jack up the award amount and leaving it like that is what allowed someone to get hurt. I see DC is frustrated and I know Cole won't say much on his lawyers advice and I imagine DC is as frustrated with Cole for not fixing it as he is with the bin company. Cole hired a bad bin company and then hired a bad lawyer on top of it who more than likely told him to not put much on the air about it and not fix which is both bad advice. I'd would have blasted the name of that company all the time on my channel til they came out and fixed it or hired another company to come out and fix it but it's pure luck someone hasn't died from this and if you don't fix it some one might. It's one hell of a price to prove you are right esp when it's one of your family that's gonna get hurt or killed.
