Loose timing chain, blown out exhaust couplers, readjust tuning, plugged injectors, redone heads, new head gaskets head studs, so glad you found the smoking guns, great that you got her back to like new again, ready for full 8 second sends.👊👊👍

A timing chain on these ohv engines will stretch in an hour or less. The double roller is a little better but even it will have some slack after just a few hours or less of run time. I don’t run a two step or a brake even though I have both, it’s not worth it for my street/strip car. I never broke a camshaft pin and don’t care to.

higher hp cars put more strain on the chains/dowel pins.

Quick question dan or anyone could a tight clutch cable cause a brand new clutch cable to start slipping not even 500 miles on it

Yes, if it engaging the clutch it could have glazed the flywheel or the clutch, hopefully not good luck!

Why don't you put gear to gear on it you won't have to worry about the timing chain stretching anymore at least

It’s fine. Chain been thru war. Wasn’t bad but wasn’t good. The holes in the old piping is what got it

Which has the least friction and most durability, chain or gear drive. I know gear drive is more noisy!

I always learn new things by watching your videos obviously new to actually working on v8s or engines in general. This week I found that the turbo drain line and manifold bolts were loose on my Barra.

Even on NA byilds, i use sleeved flex pipes. They don't cost much more, if any. Make sure they're relaxed and not expected to take the place of a bend.

@@Neomustangs It's very common in turbo builds. I've seen ones with rats nests of wire cutting the flow down to nothing. Ssautochrome has the best value in sleeved flex joints that I've come across.

When you use timing tape on the HB I have found that it fly's off after a period of time. Quick fix is to install the timing tape then spray the HB with clear coat and it will never come off.

At the level you are at I don’t use couplers or slip fits. I just make it all solid. As long as you have solid motor mounts it’s not an issue. I got tired of replacing flex joints.

Turbo is mounted to frame. Needs a little wiggle. If i had a motor plate yes I agree. None of my other kits have the coupler
