There is a Hebrew saying from the Talmud that says that God creates the cure before the illness.. That's what God did when he created you with extra kidney function before giving you Sully. So beautiful!
Wow! Sully’s recovery will be quite long. It must be because he is so young. I wish him a long life with his new kidney! I had a Liver-Kidney transplant and I was out of the hospital in just under two weeks. I was able to travel home but needed blood work twice a week and had hospital visits once a week. I will be 10 years post next month.
You guys are just so graceful and thankful. I love watching your story unfold and I can not wait to Watch Sully and Taylor recover and get stronger! ♥️

So glad that Tayler is giving her kidney to Sully and I can see the pain and the feel it with you Billy. Chances are high that my girls have my husband's blood type which means that if something happens to them I will be completely useless. It is such a hard thing for me to just think about and you are having to face it! All the best to you and the family.
Yes! It is so hard to be “helpless” in this kind of a situation. We are so thankful of for the roles we both get to play though, getting to be there for Sully immediately after surgery will be a blessing!
I woke up in the night praying for you all… especially Sully. I’m sure that you’ve had Sully prayed for with anointing oil in Jesus’ Name like it says in the Bible, but I just had to mention it….. simple faith in His promise that “ by His Stripes Sully is healed” however God chooses to do it…. You are so kind to pray, and it means the world to us ❤ Such good questions, I’ll store them for the next Q&A- a snapshot though, it’s made our marriage so much stronger as we’ve learned to rely on each other in new ways! Finances have taken a hit, but that’s part of it and money is just money, we will rebuild! We do hope to have more kiddos post donation, we just need to wait until Tayler is healed and we feel confident we can add more chaos while managing Sully’s routine, ha!
I have a question. Will they reconnect Sully’s “urethra” during his surgery so that his urine will come out the traditional way? Also, if so will they repair his current openings? If not, will they in the future? I’ll be praying for all of you. God bless you all!!
Ooh a good question! In general I think yes-the very best matches are siblings, and then parents! On the HLA cross match (blood test) I guess there are six antibodies they look at. Three are from your mom and three from your dad, so Tayler and Sully are at a minimum a 50% match which helps a ton!!
A duplex kidney. If that isn't God I don't know what is. God gave you an extra kidney. Thank you Divine. Speak life over his transplant kidney and trust it will last throughout his life. Water has a memory, every day after the transplant tell the transplant kidney it is healthy, loved, and will last 120 years. Speak life daily into the transplanted kidney. Never speak of 25 years or 50 your body is listening and his body will be listening. You guys are amazing.
I’m sure theres a good reason but it seems silly that you cant just be in the same hospital 😂 I hope theyre careful driving that kidney across the street!
