Boquete is gorgeous. I was in Panama last year and spent a few days in Boquete. Can’t wait to return. I am planning on retiring there. Boquete is on the list along with Gorgona, Pedasi, and Las Lajas. Thanks for the share.
We just got back from Panama and did some private tours through Panama Relocation Tours and we checked out David, Volcan and Boquete, this time around, as a check it out tour for possibly moving there one day. Boquete checked all the boxes for us and we are already planning our next trip! Love the food, the people and the beautiful country!
I lived in David for 5 months and Boquete for 1 month. I barely went out in David. Not much to do there, but BQ OMG I went out almost every day! There was so much to do and so many groups to join! And the mountains were beautiful!
@@EatSeeRV we had lived on the other side of the country the year before. After over two years in Panama, business brought us back to the states. My moving to Panama video has some Boquete footage in it. We went back and stayed with friends a couple years ago. I absolutely love it there!
Always excited to see a notification. This looks like a really cool place. most of the food looked great as well. Can't wait to see where you go next and also get some updates on the house.
To be a little country Panama has many places that can be visited. Ex. In the Pacific: Pearl Islands (Isla Pedro Gonzales, Isla Contadora, Isla San Jose, Isla del Rey, Isla Mogo Mogo, Saboga and many others; near the capital isla Taboga; far from the capital in the pacific the biggest island in the pacific americano (Coiba Island) and near chiriqui province. You can visit boca chica also. And in the caribean you can visit san Blas or Bocas del Toro. In car you can visit El Valle de Anton, Buenaventura, Pedasi, playa Venao, and many other places. Good look in your trip
Boquete is not Panamá’s best kept secret.🙄 It is THE most popular tourist and local destination in the country. Playa Cambutal and Playa Morrillo are Panamá’s best kept secrets.
It's definitely not covered up the facts about that is very much out in the open. Also a tragic experience that happened in 2011 should not define a city for the rest of time
@@michaelcole7359 they got lost hiking on a trail. There was a massive search but I believe they never found them. Just some camera equipment and some belongings. Look it up.
The vloggers Nomadic Movement live there. They have a coffee shop in town. They have employees running the coffee shop. They could likely get you together ... "trade subscribers" ...
Great video. We live in Boquete and it is everything you said. If you’re in good health it’s a great place to retire and get back some of the brain cells that the rat race took away. 😊
Secret??? Boquete has been hyped to high heaven for years! It's getting expensive now, as the expats are pouring in! There may be some areas outside of Boquete that would be better.
It is Christine’s birthday today and she agreed with Liz. Spending it in a hot springs would not be a bad thing at all. I might be getting worried that I might need to dig out my recorder to do a little serenade like Dennis was doing. 😀😀. Waterfalls……it is always going up or down and then you are doing the opposite returning.
@@EatSeeRV You should really reach out to them. They are not only a great resource, but they are amazing people. They would welcome you with open arms. I'm amazed by what they are doing and building there. --Jordan's Dad -
i retired to central america 2010. i lived in boquete about year. lots of old conservative gringos. . I finally settled down in san juan del sur, nicaragua. tourist town. surfing. younger crowd.
@@EatSeeRV yep, it's a wonderful world where we can mutter, utter, and be free to express or not express thoughts, feelings, observations implicitly, explicitly, all the while not seeking acceptance from individuals or bots There in...Being a free thinking human being really is imporant...
@@EatSeeRV Good day, as a side note, did you visit the Macanito district along the Rio Chiriqui Nuevo? There are some big rocks and it is said to be a somewhat popular swim location. Yes, I came to view this video partly because of the 2014 disapperance. As to what really happened to the girls, we could agree to disagree.
Excellent and informative video! What was your car rental experience? I have heard horror stories of expensive mandatory insurance that triples or quadruples the quoted rates, plus crazy high credit card deposits ($2,000 to $10,000).
No way they could experience a drought. It rains an average of 115 inches a year there haha! But it is an abnormally dry year for them because of Super El Niño.
Pros: Sunnier than Monteverde, CR, more luxurious than La Fortuna, CR. Cons: fewer hikes and lacks guides for eco tourism. There is no significant state support for parks outside downtown. Hostels lack the social pub dynamics of CR hostels. Solo travelers should stick to beach hostels in Panama. In CR, inland hostels are more fun.
Just spent time here in February. Weather is good, little windy sometimes. My problem with this town is that it is an auto town, not a compact walking town. Tours to waterfall or volcano require car or or van transport. In town there is a parque biblioteca which is worth a visit. Beach towns are 3-5 hour van trips away. There are more hostels here than you find on line, don't know why they don't seem to advertise. Best wishes.
¿por qué? ¿los conocías? Si bien fue una tragedia y una pérdida terrible, sucedió hace 10 años. Boquete no debería ser recordado exclusivamente por este evento.
@@EatSeeRVwe know them from their story which people care very deeply about. True bouqete shouldnt be remembered for this but its a stain. Their full story will one day come out and the truth will be known.
If not because two Dutch girls went missing in 2014. I’ll never find this video , because I searched name of this village , looks not that attractive 😂
Honestly? Boquete is overrun by Americans, expensive like hell, has nothing to do with Panama life. If Americans complain in the USA that Italians, Greeks, Germans all moved into one area - that’s what Boquete is for Americans. If you like to live with your country men. Why you actually move away from the USA? Makes no sense!
As kindly as I can put it Boquete is one of the worst, most racist and corrupt places I ever visited in my life. From the mayor extorting small businesses to the clickish expat community and sky high prices, you would be better off in Colombia.
It's an accent. I know alot of Americans especially from certain areas of the US say mountain this way. The T is dropped much like the R is dropped for alot on the east coast.
@@EatSeeRVwith traveling alone and hiking without a tour guide. Let people know where youre going. Slso dont hire tour guide feliciano. He may have been involved in kris and lisannes disappearance. Stay safe. These areas arent always as safe as they make them out to be. Its gorgeous but you dont know the culture or what goes on behind the scenes. Theres drug trafficking as well in the jungles.
