If a lightning travels kilometers/miles in the open air, do you think 5 cm/few inches of rubber (i.e. a tire) makes any difference in the insulation? No, it doesn’t. So if a lightning is going to strike your car, it will do it - whether you have in on tires or on jackstands. Due to Faraday cage/effect, it’s better to stay inside a car than in the open air, if it’s thundering, but also in this one needs to remember not to touch any metal parts/frame. But it was also nice that you told us that neither you have too much idea of electricity.

Rubber doesn't protect the electrical system from damage. You don't know how it works lol It's a myth that a simple google search can fix. The metal frame acts as a faraday cage which protects it for the most part, not the tires.

Most engines have a casting number (engine code) and they are not hard to find. Soo, I wouldn't blame the owner if I didnt fully inspect the vehicle. *There is casting numbers for heads as well.

Well, he didn't lied, a different motor can be anything in between a Lambo V12 and a lawnmower 1 cylinder. Guys at Carmax are expected to have some knowledge in order to inspect and deal with sellers, but even the average dude would reply "well, what motor does it have, then?". He said how things were, but the goal of a seller is to make as much money as possible. If they were complete morons at negotiating and just accepted an unknown engine, their fault only.

I find them hit & miss, it’s probably hard for them because once they call a guest in and interview them they sort of have to post it up or the guest would be pretty upset. I do like Ed & Rabbit normally.

like boats...you never ever change the name of a boat....unless you want it to sink or something......I know guys who were looking at buying boats and walked away if the name had been changed...(you could usually tell by the fade on the gelcoat where the old name was).

Tony - Yep, a straight-up con man. He *intentionally* didn't disclose it was a truck motor 'cause he knew Carmax wouldn't give him anything for it. Carmax should sue his ass and get their entire $18,000+ back. They have YEARS to follow up and do it, actually. THIS video would be their evidence of admission of guilt! 😂
