Personally, seeing smaller oddities that could be passed off as normal before you inspect them closer is much more compelling than huge set pieces or crazy SFX representing anomalies. Huge potential with this.
@@riloegaming The fear of the unknown is a much more instinctive and driving fear, than the fear of a barrier, which is what 80% of all the anomalies in STALKER really are, barriers to restrict your movement. That and a lot of the Stalker brand anomalies are kinda overplayed, and overly physical, the only psychological threat were the psychic enemies, not really much from the environment - the fear of them being a much more effective force for driving the risk/reward system. If the players dont have a hesitance to approach, its not actually a mental challenge for them, and STALKER actually might give TOO much information to let us get properly scared.
Or even better they do have certain type of anomalies but they're not obvious they're just very faint but if you step on them you know. Instead of it being like it rips you apart it's like it just kills you almost instantly. You're walking and then silently swoosh gone flopped on the floor. No pain noise just instant death. Kind of like how they did it in the Metro books. Were you heard gas and then some people just flopped on the ground and died.
@@illogicalbear6200 you haven't actually played stalker have you? this game is a boring walking simulator that will be forgotten with 0 player base in a month the atmosphere is also trash there aint even any anomaly's in the game yet so you are literally praising being scared of literal nothing and calling it good game design when stalker has hard/impossible to see anomaly's thats why you have the beep indicator and why i said you clearly have not even played the game
@@imalittletoxicjustalittle No need to get so mad man. I agree at least when stalker released it HAD fully functioning anomalies. This is not an environmental hazard, which to me makes it feel pretty underwhelming. But, the psychological element of "not knowing" doesn't really work in video games where anomalies are used as a part of the gameplay loop. I have muscle memory for a large portion, likely a majority of the anomalies in STALKER. You might be surprised, or awe striken the first time. But it just becomes another barrier on the map to avoid, or to search for artifacts lol. They undoubtedly WOULD be more interesting as larger set pieces that manipulate larger chunks of the world, instead of a very small zone on the map that defies the laws of physics in a quirky way. This game has an interesting take, but if the anomalies stay this vague I see most people glossing over the feature entirely.
Did the quest to find what looks exactly like an artifact container in stalker. Game even describes it as “warm to touch” and they have no idea what’s inside and need to research it more. Came from the downed chopper. So there’s another stalker / roadside picnic reference. Now we just need bloodsuckers lol
hoenstly this is why im more interested in gray zone than any other extract shooter rn. the possibility of weird shit in a game like this is exciting af for me
Riloe you can actually go into the zone there’s a little fence by the pond on the right side of the map and if you follow it it’s a trail up thru to the middle and there’s a little 8x8 shack on the way that you can actually zoomed in and see :0
Its more likely going to be the roadside picnic aliens, where you never actually see them, you just see the effects of what they left behind. In fact, that's mostly what this game is inspired by. Speaking of, roadside picnic is a very good book, so if you ever get the time, read it.
Roadside picnic had aliens, but you didn't interact with them, just what they left behind. The title of the book summarizes how the humans see the aliens. Just like how animals in a field beside a road don't understand humans, they find trash left over from humans after a picnic, which might become food, or say a part of a birds nest. Even though the animals don't understand what the pieces of trash are, they know that they are useful. Its a foreign tech that they don't fully understand. Same goes for the humans in the book, they find all sorts of anomalies and such, which they don't understand, but might help or harm them.
So smart of the devs. Every single bug/glitch can just be swept aside and call it an anomaly. Step aside bethesda, its not a feature, its a personalized haunted copy
started reading Roadside Picnic after seeing it influenced Pacific Drive as well. Enjoying it so far and it's a nice and short little book. I totally forgot GZW had a sci-fi element to it that hasn't been fully implemented yet.
It isn't. The game is in no way related to the book or Stalker games. The devs just said that to try and net sales in that specific community... It's a fucking sales pitch. Fuck outta heree
Played the game and encountered an Anomaly on every corner. Visual Anomaly, rubberband anomaly, Bullet sponge Anomaly, Rendering Anomaly, Stuttering Anomaly. This game has more anomaly's then any stalker game combined
must be a you problem i have a 3060 and I'm getting 90-100 fps just fine (without frame gen) and iv run into zero problems just remember this game is in alpha
I took a patrol backpack of meds and ran to the middle of ground zero. My buddy was freaking out and sweared someone else was with us the whole time. It certainly feels like you're being watched tho in the center.
I watched a strange light grow from a small ball to a multicolored cloud that took up about 10% of my screen. Just east of sawmill. I didn’t get it captured on video sadly :// I didn’t think at the time that it could be what they were talking about but it makes so much sense
There is a way into the zone from the lz at the northern airfield. The entire zone is empty, and there is no radiation or anything interesting in it yet.
The whole thing kind of reminds me of the supposed UFO stuff that went down in Mage, Brazil. Where the supposed story is something like a UFO was shot down or went down, then gun fights and explosions heard in the jungle in the following days.
How's this game so sharp for everyone else? My 3d resolution is at 100, tsr on and it's still muddy, dlss quality is muddy. What's up with that?? Also I refunded this game 👍🏻
Think my favorite part of this game was when I paid for it and tried to run it on 2 different computers but each one gave me a steam error so I had to refund it in hopes that I'd be able to play it in the future. Is anyone has gotten the steam authentication error and knows how to fix it id lobe to hear your suggestions. I tried EVERYTHING I knew and was suggested to try and nothing fixed it. :(
I love the woods feel like woods i want a game based in the Appalachian mountains thats not 76 i think walking dead realistic survival type game would be awesome but idk just think there terrain lends it's self to verticallity and immersive gameplay limitations
yea i had an enemy offer me a cigarette. Just outa the blue he was smokig and i ran up like .. and he says .. You want smoky.. theres a lot of wierd stuff in the game lol.. they need to fix a bit on the pve side
I feel like they will add a middle city or something like that where three is going to be more pvp because it is in the middle for all the factions or it might just be a radioactive zone forever
Sssssooooooo you can just walk through ground zero and take no damage whatsoever, it’s not dangerous, and honestly I was quite sad that I didn’t die from radiation but yeah you can go to the dead center hang out for awhile and then leave without any damage whatsoever
Has anyone else seen the smaller red circles inside ground zero? I’ve only seen one and after that I’ve looked and only found a Reddit post with very few comments discussing it. It’s very distinct and intentional. As the lines you see in ground zero move as if scanning from left to right in the tiny circle I’ve seen. The one I saw on Reddit was just a screenshot so idk if the lines were scanning back and forth. But please keep and eye out. And remember this comment
you're the second Content Creator to make a video about GZW and use the soundtrack from a now dead game, The Cycle: Frontier, you guys are bringing back memories I'm sad I can't recreate ever again :( thank you
I noticed the Little bird heli's all have the same coordinates displayed on the dash. The coords are in the south west corner of the map, I was contemplating checking them out tonight.
