I really liked this story, but towards the very end when the mc watches Ezra get knocked down and says “I couldn’t just leave him there” and remembers he can use the com unit, why does he still end up just leaving Ezra on the ground? Don’t get me wrong, it’s not that I dislike the choice/ story direction, I’m just confused & couldn’t really figure it out after listening the that portion again a few times

@emplays934 The main character leaves Ezra despite intending not to due to a combination of sudden opportunity for escape and overwhelming survival instinct. Faced with an immediate threat from the creature and a chance to flee when it recoils, his decision is driven by the need to survive in a hostile environment. This moment highlights the conflict between his moral instincts and the primal urge for self-preservation under extreme stress.
