I would recommend getting a water sprayer and use citrus mixed with a little water and spray your yard regular snakes hate citrus and garlic and will leave! Keep spaying on a reg basis. I would also make a snake chopper to have by my side if I ever encountered one when I was in my garden Best wishes hope you can rid your place of them

Your garden is too bushy. Star clearing all the plants just leave the grass. It’s not England anymore, it’s cobra land. Also, you have so much wood piles cobras love to hide and nest there. They can lay 30 eggs at once. Don’t try to play or poke a King Cobra either, it’s aggressive and fast with enough venom to kill 20 men.

I love snakes , had a bunch during my life. I would just catch it haha. When i can finally live there ill just prepare few things . Snake hook and cloth bag on a circle on a stick. If you hold the opening of the cloth dark bag in front most of the time a snake will go inside. Only saw one brown snake swimming in the ocean while fishing on a pier. And found a eel that looks like the crazy venomous krait snake. Was so happy , and after i learned it was infact the eel instead of the snake. And the eel is more rare then the actual snake. I love nature ! (If it was the snake and it bit me i could not even reach a road because it kills in like 8 minutes i think. Crazy !

You should wear rubber boots while looking for the cobra for your protection.

Thick rubber boots are your best friends and snake gloves. Once spotted in your premises, the samar cobra will not disappear that easily, in fact, it might be hiding all over your place. Your video clearly identifies the snake as a samar cobra. The colors of the samar cobra is black and shades of yellow, more black than yellow when it is calm and relaxed, but when stressed out and frightened and in the fight mode, you will see more yellow colors coming out especially when it spreads it famous hood. You will be crazy act to look for it with dustpan and walis tingting. Why, because the samar cobra is a spitting cobra, that is very fast, stealthy, agile, flexible, very temperamental that strikes first most of the time when you bring broom and dustpan in its presence. Yes, it will spit at your face first especially your eyes, then it will attack. Even the best of the snake catchers would never do what you did in the videos, as it would be asking for trouble. Once bitten by a samar cobra after it spits at your face, you only have at least one hour to live depending on your natural resistance, some will expire after 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 45 minutes but most humans would last about an hour. Next time, go to your barangay to help find a snake catcher to help catch or kill the snake. You are lucky no harm came to you or your family but you do not know right now where they might be hiding in your home. I said they, because, if you see one samar cobra, that only means there are many samar cobra around your premises. Close all your doors all the time, 24 hours a day for the rest of your Leyte lives. Once the samar cobra enters your home, your lives become 50 50, sometimes, the odds or chances to live is less than that. Just in case, you find one or more samar cobra inside your home, vacate your home, and go to the barangay or police station. Do not attempt to kill or capture the snake, esp inside your home. That kind of snake once inside your home and attacked by you, will fight to the death to survive, and usually, you will lose the battle because of your inexperience, your nervousness, your lack of skill and knowledge. If you can also find filipino fishermen friends or neighbors, ask them to help you set up fish net traps all over your home. Remove all firewoods, charcoal, papers, sacks, shoes, socks, boots laying all over the outside of your home because these are the places they love to hide and sleep and catch prey. Prey is usually small rats, mice, big rats, frogs, tuko, tabili, household lizards, etc. and the snake(s) might be hiding in your clothes, blankets, pillowcases, shoes, socks, sacks, wood files, GI sheets, bamboo poles, etc etc. Recommended fishnet trap is 7 or 8 eye of the net, 2 or 3 or 4 thickness of the net, 5 is too thick preventing entanglement. 9 is too small an opening for the samar cobra to get entangled. There is a guy called DOL Cobra, he is from Davao City he will rescue you and help you prevent samar cobra into your home by giving you good advises. Try searching FB for this young filipino guy, a very kind and good guy. Maybe you can sponsor his fares, meals and lodging if you want him to rescue your home from the samar cobra. Please do not think you can do it yourself. There is no antivenom available for Samar Cobra, practically all types of cobra bites in the Phils. has no antivenom. Remember one hour is all you got if you make a mistake and get bitten by the samar cobra.

Strike distance from snakes might surprise you and you don’t want the risk of finding out on the spot. The cats are brave for sure, but also know their reflexes are faster than the snake’s strike. Finally, on the inner side of the moat build a snake trap (landscape fence and a crab-like trap at the end). Inside the crab-like trap, place a manually operated 20kW electric door- mat. On your person, carry a machete. They get inside septic systems.. think about that for a second or two...

I would put electric fence around the property. The same used for cattle. It can be connected to any metal fence and isolated by hooks to concrete. Unless they can dig under the fence, it will keep them away.
