The Gadabout Dad, Charlie and Zoe spend three days at The Makadi Palace then go on a seven night Nile Cruise, returning to the Makadi Palace afterwards .On our return we were given a free upgrade...is it any good?

The rooms both looked lovely, an unpopular opinion, but I thought the smaller room looked more cosy!

It was. There was a lot of ‘dead space’ in the large room. If you went as a larger group it would be ideal though.

I actually preferred the smaller room. I didn’t use the lounge room in the bigger room and the view from the smaller room was much better. I was ill for most of the time I was in the larger room, so that may have swayed my opinion.

The only two true 5 star hotels there are the sunwing and the 5 star jaz ones.

I didn’t get to see in any of the other hotels but I can say that Makadi Palace definitely wasn’t the five star I was lead to believe it was.

@@thegadaboutdad1057 If you go again I recommend Jaz aquaviva that's the one I go to. It's more expensive but actually a true 5 star hotel. Some of the hotels there look like they may have been 5 star 20 years ago but are badly maintained but the jaz ones at all up to date and look substantially more luxurious.
